Mariner's Village Resort

Location is perfect for spending a day on the lake. You can walk to it from the property. Staff was extremely friendly and even though we didn’t use the pool, it looked nice and clean. Breakfast was decent. They kept it fully stocked which was nice and it had the normal variety to choose from of hot and cold breakfast which was a bonus. Room was decent. Size was good. There were gross spots on the wall that needed to be wiped down but overall felt pretty clean except for that. Friends stayed in the cabins and those seemed pretty clean too and nice. Overall it was a pleasant stay.

Just that our room wall had a gross substance on it that needed to be cleaned, but the rest of the room looked and felt clean. The staff was extremely friendly but sometimes it was hard to find someone who worked there.

Location was great - right by Carlyle lake. I was doing the triathlon on Sept 18th and staying at the Mariners Village allowed me to walk to the race site instead of dealing with a car. Room was nice and clean with plenty of space, a comfortable bed, and a refrigerator and microwave.

My only comment would be to add USB outlets for charging devices like phones and watches. Fortunately, I had brought one with me. Many hotels now have USB outlets as well as normal electrical plug outlets and this would be a nice enhancement.

It was definitely the location that sets this apart from other places. The view and walk around the lake was amazing. And luckily a Mexican restaurant there as well! That food was fabulous.

the place seemed a little old inside the room, but the rest of the set up was nice. loved the chess sets out! the breakfast may of not been set up fully when we were leaving as we only stayed one day, but it was limited in choices.

Due to participating in the triathlon, I could not have a full breakfast, but the snacks there a little early before the rays are always much appreciated. I’ve stayed here three years in a row for the triathlon.

The facilities could be updated in the beds were very stiff, but the cleanliness and location and staff make it worthwhile as does the price

Great location just across the lake. Our room had fantastic lake view. Room was clean, staff is helpful. They offered extra blankets to make our stay cosy. Waffle, eggs, yogurt, juices in b’fast, made our morning a great start !! Beach, bike trail, eateries, golf, are just steps away. We will be coming back next time around.

I was extremely pleased that I had booked Mariner's Village Resort as my stop while in Carlyle, IL. I am on a long-distance bicycle trip and this has been one of the best motels that I have stayed at in over a month. The location next to Carlyle Reservoir is perfect. I had an excellent view of the lake and marina, not to mention the picturesque park next to the resort. I was glad that I decided to lunch at the Los Amigos restaurant next door. The owner of the resort was generously accommodating and he did everything right to make my stay most enjoyable.

The bed was comfy the location was perfect. The staff and breakfast great

The hallways hadn't been vacuum. They may have just changed the bed and spot clean the room. The bathroom had hair in the sink and shower and the floor needed a little more attention.

The hotel was the closest to our family so it was convenient; however, being a nice hotel was really an added bonus. Checkin was easy, staff was very polite, room layout was exceptional, and price was reasonable.

There were dust bunnies on our pillows and the bathroom floor had hair on it. Other than the above, it was very nice.

A location that met our needs, comfortable beds.

Breakfast was just ok. Sausage and eggs were almost empty and it was not kept hot. We were there early enough, food should have been a good amount and hot! Also, orange juice was watered down.

The location was very nice with a great view of Carlyle lake and the sailboats. I enjoyed the close proximity to walking trails and an excellent golf course. The town was quaint and had very friendly people.

Although breakfast included is always a plus, the meal was up to standard with cold, hard-boiled eggs being the only protein source. Other guests had brought their own food to supplement their meal.
