The Chateau Bloomington Hotel and Conference Center

A beautiful museum! Step back in time. From the brass door handles , brass statues , China cabinets , crystal, pieces of furniture you’d see in a castle, chandeliers, library ! So different than any hotel around ! I love the character in every inch of this place. Breakfast was amazing. Waffles, biscuits gravy , eggs, fruit. Very well rounded. Staff friendly and helpful. Pool, hot tub , sauna ! Pond , walking/ biking trail ! I didn’t want to leave !

Not all of the elevators are working which made for a very long wait for some. We used the stairs !

Check-in was fairly easy, the bed was comfortable, bathroom was clean, and the breakfast spread was decent. I was surprised at how stylish and attractive the hotel was on the inside! One of the more uniquely designed hotels I've ever stayed at.

The bedroom smelled a bit strange; I don't know what chemical it was cleaned with. Also, when I was looking under the bed right before check-out (to make sure I didn't leave anything underneath), I found 2 non-matching socks (individuals of 2 different pairs) ... which afterwards made me wonder how well the room actually had been cleaned before I moved into it.

3 dinky pillows and a questionably washed sheet. There are crackheads I think. Disclaimer: not sure if they are true crackheads I think they are just true Bloomington people Bring your own blanket and you are fine !! I’m staying again so the benefits outweigh downsides.

ROOM,, CONVENIENT LOCATION AND COURTEOUS STAFF. GOOD BREAKFAST SELECTIONS, AND PRICE PAID WAS GREAT IN COMPARISON TO OTHER AREA HOTELS. CANNOT WAIT UNTIL VISIT NEXT YEAR TO SEE ALL INTERIOR & EXTERIOR REMODELING COMPLETED. 5 STAR RATING ON THE POSITIVE LIKES.

A BIG INCONVENIENCE THAT THE COMPUTER IN BUSINESS CENTER WAS NOT WORKING AT ALL DURING MY STAY. THE PARKING AREA IS SCHEDULED FOR RECONSTRUCTION OVER THE NEXT 6-12 MONTHS. MY ROOM WAS ON THE 5TH FLOOR.. GOOD LOCATION, BUT THE SECONDARY ELEVATOR WAS OUT OF COMMISSION, MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO WALK ALL THE WAY BACK TO THE MAIN ELEVATOR.

I love the building and the architectural features. Mt room was clean and the pillows were ample and comfortable. I slept well. It was quiet at night, which I appreciated. I like the crane fountain in the lobby. The breakfast is good for a gluten-free person. I had the eggs and sausage with milk, coffee, and orange juice. The hotel staff are pleasant and helpful.

The hotel could spend more time putting clean towels in the pool area and sprucing up the sauna in the women’s changing room.

Nice greeting. Asked if we wanted to upgrade to a new suite at a small fee which we are glad we did. Quirky interior. Ok breakfast. Parking was easy. Shops and restaurants nearby.

Doors going into the hotel are heavy and not automatic so not easy to get in when you have several large cases. No bedside lights to turn on /off while in bed. You need to get out to turn them off. No handles on kitchen cupboards. No glasses in kitchen.

Fast, friendly and courteous staff. Room was large, clean and comfortable. The bed was comfortable and had ample amount of pillows. Hot breakfast served included scrambled eggs, sausage, seasoned potatoes, fruit, milk, coffee and juice. A special recognition to “Yaw”for obtaining our breakfast for us. My husband could not go downstairs with his walker. “Yaw” went to the lower breakfast area and obtained our breakfast. Bathroom had plenty of shampoo and toiletries. Ample parking was available onsite. Reasonable rates and will definitely stay there again.

We enjoyed the history of the hotel, the elegance. The staff was so friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable, and they are in the process of updating things to improve the overall stay.

As with any old hotel, there were challenges. The elevators did not work properly, one was out of order. The tub dripped constantly. They did not have a regular breakfast, but a "grab and go"...while that was fine, it would have been great to have at least some sort of healthy option instead of the high sugar and calorie pre-packaged donuts, muffins, cinnamon rolls, etc. Perhaps some fresh fruit or oatmeal packets (there is hot water!).

I liked the guy at the Front desk he was very friendly and helpful.

it had a musty smell, if you go in the side door on the 1st floor it smells bad in that hallway. the rooms and building need an update. the outside is beautiful. inside, needs updates. the water in my room was either warm or hot. never cold. even the water in the toilet was warm and you could feel the warp when I sat down. it was weird. overall it was mediocre. the breakfast was ok. the room where you sat was warm like the air conditioner was not on.

The conference paid for the food and all of it was delicious! The room was outdated but still sufficient. The bed was comfortable. The heat in the room was fine but gets hot pretty quickly. Maybe that will be updated with new rooms.

I left my cell phone charger in the wall and it was never recovered. I also left my lap top cords but they were recovered. I hate that I will have to buy another cell phone charger.
