It’s Here! ‘Universal Epic Universe’ is Now Open in Orlando

It has been 15 years since Universal’s ‘Wizarding World of Harry Potter’ debuted in Central Florida, so the anticipation that goes along with a new park hasn’t been felt for a long time. Ticket sales for opening day on May 22 were limited this time around with no walk-up tickets sold to give the park’s staff the chance to get acclimated with their new surroundings. This is Orlando’s 8th theme park, far more than other locale in the world.

How Much Are Tickets to Universal Epic Universe?

As you might expect, a day at this new park, or any theme park for that matter, is going to cost you plenty. But if you go early and stay late, or buy a multi-park pass, you can get more value from your purchase. Subject to change, at this time opening time is either 9 or 10 a.m., and the gates close at 9 or 10 p.m.

  • One day tickets start at $139 for adults ($135 for kids), but that’s only for four specific dates in September. Adult prices top out at $199 from Christmas Eve through New Years Eve. Multi-day tickets for 3, 4, or 5 days start at $117 per day for adults, with a whopping $3 discount for kids. Universal also offers tickets that can be combined with other Universal parks and Volcano Bay Water Park.
  • The Universal Express Pass is available for purchase online in advance (recommended) or at Epic Universe, allowing visitors to bypass the regular lines for rides and other attractions. Note that not all rides and attractions accept the Express Pass, but the time savings can still be substantial when used for other rides during the course of your time here. The Express Pass is not valid for the Dragon Racer’s Rally, Donkey Kong Mine-Cart Madness, and Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry.
  • Hotel guests staying at Loew’s Portofino Bay Hotel, the Hard Rock Hotel, and Loew’s Royal Pacific Resort on-site at Universal Orlando, receive FREE Universal Express Unlimited passes as a perk.
  • For guests planning to bring their personal car to the park, Universal Epic has its own parking lot with standard daily pricing at $32 (ouch!), or self-parking from $50-60 for premium locations and the most popular dates. Consider finding a hotel that offers shuttle services to the park, or if you’re one of the lucky ones, have a friend or relative provide transportation for you.
  • If “time is money” holds true, Universal Hotel guests will be thrilled with the early park admission they’ll receive by staying at one of the 11 hotels on property. These conveniently located properties offer more than 11,000 rooms at varying price levels, plus provide complimentary shuttle bus service to Epic Universe, City Walk, Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure, and Universal Volcano Bay water park. That translates into substantial savings by not having to pay for parking at the various parks. And you will gain access to your chosen park one hour ahead of the general public.
