I've reviewed the hotel before. So, briefly: Love this hotel! My go-to for SF overnights. Rooms are great. Free coffee is available in the mornings. Location is perfect!!

The restaurant inside (Tratto) has changed ownership and isn't as nice. It looks the same but the menu and general vibe are not so fab. Particularly, the previous signature cocktail menu is gone and the food options are numerically and creatively limited. The happy hour free drink was a nice touch (albeit a free glass of budget wine not available - deemed worthy of being available? - on the regular wine list).

The room was great and it was in a good position to explore San Francisco. We liked the water bottles and the water refills. The hotel was very friendly and for where it was and what it offered good value for money.

We didn’t feel that the restaurant matched the hotel experience. Meals were expensive relative to their quality. We were offered a complimentary glass of wine only to be told that you could only get this if you arrived by a set time. There was no coffee and tea in the room and so free coffee and tea was served in the restaurant at breakfast time and it felt a bit begrudging.

The staff were very friendly, the hotel had a lovely lobby area and places to sit and relax. The restaurant was good with a variety of food.

The location is very close to the Tenderloin area, as a solo traveller I did not find the area very safe and therefore would not recommend the area to solo travellers. Once inside I felt very safe, equally once I had walked a couple of blocks away the surrounding area felt very safe and the pavements were much cleaner. The rooms would benefit from tea/coffee stations.

The hotel's location is truly excellent. Being within walking distance of Apple, Macy's, and a wide variety of shops made exploring the area incredibly convenient. The rooms were impeccably clean and offered a comfortable, relaxing atmosphere. Furthermore, the staff were consistently polite and attentive, making me feel welcome throughout my stay.

The room could be improved by the addition of a microwave and coffee maker. Without them, simple conveniences were missing. I had to ask reception to heat up frozen food, which wasn't ideal. Providing these in-room amenities would greatly enhance the guest experience.

The hotel is clean, staff were polite and very helpful, we were given complimentary Marker water bottles along with complimentary glass of wine at the adjoining restaurant upon arrival. The room was large, the bed was comfortable and came with a fridge.

Unfortunately the surrounding area one block over was a little rough but once you get your bearings you can avoid that area.

The location was great in exploring the nearby sightseeings like the Fisherman's Wharf and Pier 39. It was also a very good hotel ovetall. Aircon worked well.

I did not like the fact that there was no tea/cup facilities at the room and no hand soap. We also heard lots of sirens at night.

I was not thrilled with the location as it was not in Union Square. We saw a lot of homeless people around the area and for some reason a lot of dog poop. The hotel was lovely but the location was not ideal for us since we have small children.

The staff were exceptional. We were in town for over a week bc a family member was in the hospital. The staff went out of their way to not only make sure we were comfortable but to help us on a personal level. They even welcomed our dog which we had to bring bc of our emergency Special thanks to Front desk Blanka and the doorman/security man (Amand? Can’t remember sorry). The facility was spotless. We were amazed at how absolutely quiet it was inside the room as there is double paned windows. The engineering team is doing an exceptional job as the AC worked really well and was the quietest I have ever encountered in a hotel! Terrific water pressure too. Beds was firm which was great for me, but my husband would have liked the option to have a mattress topper. The front desk again helped out sending multiple duvets to create a softer base. It is close to Union Square which is good and bad as the City continues to displace its houseless population closer to this area without actually helping them; but this is on the mayor not the hotel. Thanks all!

The room was a good size and the bed was very comfortable. There was a desk with chair, plus a comfortable sitting/reading chair. I appreciated that the hotel provided a water bottle and had water stations with filtered water throughout the hotel so that you could refill as needed. I also liked that gratuities were included at the restaurant and that servers made a point of letting customers know that. I loved the lobby and the library area, both of which had nice fireplaces and plenty of comfortable seating. The fitness center had a good assortment of equipment and free weights. Elevators arrived in a timely manner. Union Square is two blocks away. The surrounding area had a slightly seedy appearance but we never felt uncomfortable walking around there during day or night. Staff was great--very friendly and helpful.

The only drawback to the shower was that a couple of times in the morning, the water was only lukewarm. Coffee/tea makings were not provided in the room, but they did send up an electric water kettle so I could make tea. That made me happy, but my husband, who rises early, had to leave the hotel to find coffee in the morning because it wasn't available in the restaurant until it opened at 7 a.m.
