Brilliant hotel in an excellent location. Close enough to the ocean that you can easily walk it, far enough to feel tucked away from the hustle and bustle. Amenities were great, the staff were a credit to the hotel too!!

I was surprised by the additional taxes, there was a health and wellness tax and a guest tax and a few other taxes which seems absurd and frankly off putting. In the same vein, for the price you pay (and all the additional taxes), here you should have breakfast included.

Good room ,excellent builtin wardrobe good large comfy bed , good sized bathroom, great view-except for fog. Good pool. coffee make in room-good coffee. The hotel has a good modern feel. Birthday wine and cake -great touch & great wine. Pool side snacks good. Staff friendly. Good breakfast coffee. In room wireless speaker nice thought. Bedside USB points. More please. The friday evening DJ was good but why no publicity as a result nobody came-shame

Bed room cost of draws, curved ends-an accident waiting to happen. Also draws that you can hardly get into. Stye over practicality. Couldn't get a croissant for breakfast. Dinner on the top floor was disappointing. No vegetables on a chicken kebab stick. Humus good though. No sign of a greek salad. Uninspired cooking. Odd thing the 1st night cost $100+ more that the other 3. The additional accommodation charge just appears pointless and only serves to feel like a con. the bars close 10.30 some time almost 11. seams a little early. Staffs main priority seems to get going ASAP.

Beautifully decorated interior without gaudy excess. The rooms and showers are very nice. The location offers visitors a chance to see part of Santa Monica during a short 10min walk to the beachfront. The homeless people nearby are harmless.

Some of the rooms require guests to take a long walk to another building that feels adjacent to the main hotel.

Absolutely everything!! They even had a bottle of champagne and some chocolate covered strawberries for our honeymoon :) late checkout was also available to us until 4pm so it really saved us since we had a 11pm flight.

Not so much dislike but we weren’t able to retrieve the welcome text since we were from overseas so we didn’t get to learn much about the other facilities and services.

The design is fabulous. The bar is hopping and great people watching. The gym exceeds my expectation; I appreciate getting my sweat session while traveling. The room is quite comfortable. And excellent service overall. My husband lost his wallet in the bar, but fortunately it was recovered by hotel, and thus a disaster averted!

The bathroom is very large relative to the bedroom area. There is a lot of wasted space in bathroom which could've been useful in the living area.

Aesthetically pleasing, especially the restaurant at ground level. Friendly staff.

We booked a terrace room and the “terrace” was literally just a small balcony. Not at all like the photos. Didn’t have much of a view; just neighboring buildings. Shower-head water pressure was really hard and couldn’t be adjusted. Curtains could not be opened halfway; had to be all the way open or all the way closed.

Architecture and interior design by Kelly Wearstler rocking here! All details were perfectly designed and built. Service quality and staff is so so so good and polite! I need high-speed wifi for my zoom calls and it worked perfectly.

-Check the room size while booking, there are various forms, just make sure it works for you. - I didn’t find slippers not sure may be they provide, I couldn’t see… Not a problem at all - I will stay at Proper if I go back to LA.

Fantastic architecture and interior design.

There was an additional charge over and above what was quoted and booked on booking.com (around USD$150 - called ‘staff amenities’ fee or something along those lines). There was also no iron / ironing board in the room (only a steamer).

Paying an extra amenity fee after booking, finding out I had to pay an extra parking/valet fee after booking, not having robes in the room everyday of our stay, not having soap and lotion replenished everyday of our stay, expensive room service

cool design , not too big , lots of amenities , amazing rooftop bar and roof top restaurant Calabria for breakfast and dinners, centrally located in Santa Monica , amazing decor and furniture , great happy staff
