While my stay at the Vagabond Inn Buttonwillow North I-5 was largely positive, it's important to note a couple of aspects that might affect some guests. The office women and even the cleaning ladies said hello with a smile.. a friendly place .

the flies billions of them, and 100 in our room, at night the flies stayed in place, daylight, all fling around. I drove 20 miles to buy a bug boom and set is off and went shopping and lunch.. returned,, wife was happy with all the dead fly . need a leaf blower to send them out the open door.. I am a country man and I was OK with it all .

Unbeatable value. Can’t get any cheaper than this. Good location close to the Buttonwillow Raceway Park if you’re a gearhead. Breakfast with fruits, coffee and waffles!

Cigarette burns in the sheets. Noise from the I5 at night. When we wanted to check in, staff had the office door locked and we waited in the cold for a long time.

Quiet. I was surprised to find a surge breakfast. It wasn't a whole lot. Two choices of cereal, coffee, orange juice and waffles. All the same. It was nice and it was there. I was truly surprised though that they serve breakfast starting at 2:00 a.m. and went to 9:00. A.m..

Not a single trash can in the room.

Everything! I have stayed here a couple times already! So far so good honestly wont complain. Wonderfull service! Rooms clean! Have never had a problem with stuff stolen when leaving things in the back of my truck! Highly recomend them!

I loved the price and the staff! The lady at the front was so helpful and it was super easy to check in.

The doors outside could be cleaned better and the rooms should be aired out so it doesn’t smell humid

Everything else was fine besides the past issue...

The flies, asked for bug spray, fly swatters, room to be sprayed and no action was given to help combat the seasons pest issue... Its hard to sleep, feel comfortable, or even feel clean when it seems as though the good 50+(that number is an understatment) flies occupying your room too obviously paid more then you, cause they have more of a right to be there instead of you being the paid customer....

The rooms for the Vagabond Inn were great for the location and price we paid. The internet/wifi though was terrible. Basically non existent unless you stood in or next to the office. I passed back the same way several days later and booked another night there. Just went without the wifi.

The young lady that checked us in late in the evening on May 6, 2021 was absolutely wonderful and amazing, I wish I could mention her by name, but I forgot to ask. I manage a hotel in Oregon and would hire her on the spot for providing a warm welcome and outstanding customer service. We only stayed for one night on our 1200 mile road trip in our amazing 1989 Isuzu Trooper but it was a comfortable stay and the room was clean. The motel needs to address maintenance issues though. A few things were broken, the bathroom light was flickering in an annoying way, the faucet was loose and the floor was under water when we woke up in the morning from some repair work in the next room . But no complaints, we had a good rest and moved on as planned. Thank you, wonderful front desk lady!

We got in late at night and the front desk clerk was attentive and understanding. My daughter accidentally locked us out of the room and the key was replaced with no problems. Thank you to the staff.
