We were very pleased with the Junior Suite and we were very comfortable there. Thank you!

We were pleased to find there were so many cupboards in our Junior Suite but amazed that there was not one Hook in them or anywhere in the apartment. Therefore there was nowhere to hang coats or anything else. There was one rail for hanging in the bedroom cupboard but very few hangers. Other cupboards had room for rails to hang clothes and hangers, but sadly no rails nor any hooks nor shelves. The apartment could have done with some large drawers or shelves for clothes This is a missed opportunity.

Very good food. The historic building and the setting. The room they took us to first had a steep (outdoor) staircase, so we would have found it difficult - so we were given another , ground-level room.

The shower in our bathroom had no handheld option and the bath in which one stood had no safety mat. In fact my wife was unable to have a shower at all. We are not young (like a lot of the other guests) so need something more user-friendly.

The staff are excellent and very friendly and welcoming. The hotel is beautiful and historic with lovely gardens. The bedrooms are very well appointed and the food is excellent. The recently opened spa is beautiful with a great swimming pool and a range of treatments

Communication is the their real failing. trying to contact them by phone is very difficult - i tried several times and all the automated options and listened to a lot of hold music but no one answered. Even ringing reception from the bedroom is difficult to get anyone to answer . The automated messages sent via Booking.com constantly said the spa and swimming pool were closed until further notice and would reopen on 1st December 2022 (this is in May 2023) so they need to work on their communications. Even booking dinner on line was a challenge -some parts of the form do not work

Wow a beautiful, historic house! Stunning, quirky architecture, old door latches, flag stones over which many eras have trodden, tall ceilings, immaculate grounds and a relaxed atmosphere and dress code. The Tudor Room oozes history and charm, inc. a 4 poster bed, along with modern bathroom, roll top bath, bath view TV, his/her sinks and separate WC plus fantastic view of front gardens. The modern separate spa/pool house is beautiful inside with the ancient beams. Delicious dinner and breakfast.

As with all older buildings there is some noise, be it other guests or ongoing maintenance. We were awoken at 8am by electric drilling. Reception just need to advise guests on arrival, so we can anticipate it rather than surprise us, we were on a rare vacation, so a lie-in is a treat.

Loved everything about this hotel. Having the weather to enjoy the grounds and eat outside was a bonus. All the food we had was really good. The staff were all very friendly and efficient. Service was excellent. Our room on the ground floor, which I had requested, was lovely with a bay window looking out onto the grounds. We will be back when next in Woodbridge area.

Only downside for me personally, having a mobility issue at the moment, was that we didn't have a walk in shower. But didn't think to check this when booking. Will do next time.

Although the receptionist at check in was glum, had a face like a slapped a**, non friendly, no “have a nice stay” or anything in her strange sounding American accent and made me want to walk out and come back in to try again, the rest of the hotel staff were nice though, especially the bar and restaurant staff. Great location and I would go back. Room, bathroom was tired but acceptable. Food was very tasty but portions were very small in some cases. Great base to explore the area and come back for a swim.

Breakfast was included and was excellent. There was a good selection of cereals, fruit, fruit juices and yoghurt. Also an excellent choice of cooked food. All nicely presented. The room was spacious, clean and the bed was very comfortable. It was very pleasant to sit and relax in the lovely hotel gardens.

We didn't like the soap dispensers in the bathroom that were fixed to the wall. They were over the basin and shower but as the bathroom was very large these were too far away from the bath.

Food is excellent. Breakfast was exceptional, and very well cooked and same with the dinner that I had whilst there. Very comfortable bed in the the room. Lovely grounds and traditional, characterful decor. Plenty of parking.

Room, although big and grand looking, could do with the bathroom being updated and the carpet cleaned. Also, just little niggles , like no electrical socket near the bed and again no easy access socket for the hair dryer. Had to crawl on my hands and knees to plug in under the dressing table! Lights above the bed didn't work and there was no switch near the bed for any lights, so you have to fumble around in the dark to get into bed - which was very comfortable

Beautiful period building with original features. Excellent food - we had dinner and breakfast. Staff in the restaurant were excellent. Bed was comfortable and facilities in the room were good. Lovely gardens which were well kept. Lounge was comfortable with good number of sofas and chairs and a log fire.

The reception staff were poor - both when we arrived and when we left. Not very welcoming and didn’t ask if we had enjoyed our stay - surely a basic question that staff should ask? The carpet in our room was filthy and stained and hadn’t been vacuumed properly as there were crisps under the chair. Bathroom was a little tired.

Beautiful hotel with great character in lovely setting. The food in the restaurant was good.

The spa and gym facilities were closed for refurbishment and the pool had limited opening hours - which we were not made aware of until the last minute - when we were committed. The hotel had recently changed ownership and, whilst the staff were helpful, there were a few frustrating issues/teething troubles that will hopefully now be resolved.
