Queens Ground

Though the room was above a pub and I stayed on a Saturday night I did not hear any pub noise! Room was clean with good-size tv, tea/coffee, desk and chair and a decent-sized shower cubicle in the bathroom. I went and had a drink downstairs, and the prices were cheap; the staff and locals were welcoming. Great value esp for a twin in easy reach of the city with bus and tram connections about a minute's walk away. Venue is on edge of Hillsborough which has its own smaller shops and restaurants if you need essentials.

Due to the city location I was awoken by a tram shortly before midnight, but other than that I slept well. There was no breakfast option available, but the room alone was worth the price I paid to be fair.

The staff at The Queens Ground were lovely. They went above and beyond to meet our needs which I am so grateful for. The room was spacious and bathroom facilities were great. The pub below was no where near as noisy as I thought it would be either. I also liked how there was another entrance so I didn't have to walk through the pub to get to my room if I didn't want to.

The shower was a bit noisy but that didn't bother us at all really. The bedroom doors slam closed but there's not a lot that can be done by that and it didn't effect our trip at all.

Arrived for an overnight stay to watch a match at Hillsborough a mile away. Did not have high hopes of a room above a pub but it was the cheapest we could find in late August. We found plenty of on street parking, received a friendly reception and the room was well decorated, clean and had an excellent shower en-suite to match. Tea making facilities too, and the firm mattresses were as comfortable as I have slept in for ages. For what we were after, it surpassed expectations. Thanks Queens Grounds!

Nothing springs to mind. Rooms above a pub may not suit some, but they are what they are. No deception

Very welcoming, owner and family/staff were lovely, room was spacious and clean! noise from pub itself couldn't be heard. was close to hillsborough ground for my family to go to the match and close to tram stop to go to meadowhall

it was very noisy so didn't sleep well. I would say for a bed after a night out its great but not if you want to relax and get a good night's sleep. the building is old and other visitors banging doors, not owners fault. Also rooms faced the road so trams were noisy!

Spacious family room with easy check in and out. The pub was downstairs but we couldn't hear any noise from it. Close to the beautiful areas of Peak District and beautiful scenery arround. Easy acess to Sheffield centre too. Even our dog was very happy here

Glass recycling taken at 05.00! Beer delivery of barrels at 07.00---thought it was an earthquake, making the room shake! Had to climb a fire escape with a heavy case + I am over 70. A good place to stay for the football.

The room was perfect for myself and my friends needs. The staff were really friendly and helpful and the pub itself was really nice and we enjoyed having a drink there! The room and bathroom were clean and in good condition, with lots of storage if needed.

The staff were really friendly and took really good care of us. The pub itself had a good atmosphere and the drink prices were very reasonable. Also couldn't really hear pub noise in the room so sleep wasn't disturbed.

Parking was a bit hit and miss.

Great location to be near family

Not anything that is the Queens Grounds fault…just the trams but I was aware of this before I stayed and had stayed before, but if you are a light sleeper it may not be for you.

Comfortable room over lively pub. £2.75 for a pint! Good sports coverage on TV. Very handy for visiting family close by.

Pub doesn't reopen until 2pm. Complicated arrangements to get yourself back into property if you want to go out (& come back) before then.
