I like the building, the photos hanging in hotel to introduce Sheffield's history, the room renovation and set up which let me feel integrated into the old history. The heating tube is very good which can help me dry the washed clothes easily. The receptionist are very polite, patient and helpful on solving problems.

1. If the receptionist could have asked me what I don't like e.g. the noise when I checked in. 2. The tap of the basin is not good enough, when the water come out, water splashed on the clothes and floor because of the super big water pressure, could be good to put some tool to avoid this. 3. Breakfast: if there will be more vegetables, that will be perfect.

The staff. Peter, specifically, really understands how to provide quality and memorable guest experiences. Even when something wasn’t right (e.g. our room was quite noisy), he was extremely polite and made it up to us with exceptional service and complimentary breakfast, as he wasn’t able to relocate us due to the hotel being fully booked. More importantly, he was courteous and respectful throughout and you could tell he really wanted us to be comfortable. The restaurant staff was also amazing and super polite and friendly.

The noise from the streets was loud and clear in our room - however, the hotel could invest in sound-proof windows (which most similar hotels in Times Square in NY have for example) and that would easily solve the problem!

The staff greeted me warmly and, when I got back after a dinner, the young guy looking after the bar was solicitous and very helpful. My room was comfortable and nice additions such as fluffy towels, tea and coffee, iron and ironing board. There was mention of a dressing gown and slippers which would have been nice to have but I could not find. I did not have time for breakfast, sadly.

The only issue was with booking me a taxi to take me to the station. I had to chase reception while I was waiting outside. I was then told that the cab company had cancelled the taxi for some reason and, it was a bit of a stressful time trying to find a local cab which happened to be passing by. A small point, because everything else was good.

Lovely big room, huge and very comfortable bed (except the pillows). Room well appointed, big bathroom, very powerful hot shower, big towels and plenty of space to spread out. They have a great scheme whereby you can opt out of your room being cleaned in lieu of a £5 voucher to spend at the bar - a great idea as unless you've had a dirty protest, who needs their sheets and towels changed every day?! The building is lovely and very close to the town centre and perfect for the Crucible.

Pillows were way too soft - serious neck-ache soft. There is no support in them at all so if you like a firmer pillow then would recommend seeing if they have additional options (would take my own next time, lol). My OH had breakfast and said it was adequate but not great for the price. The car park is a just that little bit far if you have heavy bags - if you struggle to walk distances/have a few bags then would recommend dropping off right outside and then parking.

The breakfast was very standard and normal, the cereals were nice and there was good choice. The mushrooms are nice. The staff were friendly and warm at reception. My room met my needs well and I got a lot of work done at my desk.

I think it would be nice to have the plant milks more obvious and no/low meat items be given the most obvious placement because it’s important for your sustainability goals that these foods are chosen more by your customers. There was a lot of food, so I’m concerned about the food waste that might follow. The electric heaters (x2) were on full blast in my room when I arrived, making it stuffy and also a waste of power.

The Hotel has a great history which has been kept as part of the decor which is nice to see. The location is brilliant for Sheffield city as it's a stones throw from anywhere. The staff are friendly, the room we stayed in was spacious, comfy, and clean. It had everything you needed for a short stay. The Breakfast in the morning was well presented and cooked with a good range of hot and cold options. All members of staff were friendly and hospitable from the receptionist, cooks, waiters & cleaning staff.

Just a couple of small points. There was no shower curtain in the bathroom. There was a sign to state keep the curtain within the bath tub to use, but the only option was to have a bath unless you wanted to make a mess everywhere! We probably could of asked for one but was in a rush to get out and about. Also, not the Hotels fault but a very noisy group of people that decided to talk to each other at around 2am and 4am during the night that appeared to be in the corridors. Again, more the rudeness of the guests than anything else.

Brilliant stay, the room was a little too small for the price. Amazing friendly staff, great location for food and drinks, within walking distance of station and the centre. Great offer of breakfast and also very accessible gym downstairs for all guests. Great lay out of the place with a really interesting background behind the building 😊

The location was good, a little too loud due to the location, but not too bad! The room was a little too small, with the bathroom tub being scratched as well as the bed head board. I think the worst part was the food, we've ordered 2 pizzas, although it was good, my veggie pizza was missing olives, spinach and mushrooms. Also the TV was super slow and a lot of channels did not work.

It's a nice hotel with a good central location, so everything is within walking distance. The hotel isn't too big or busy and the rooms are spacious. The bathroom is well appointed with a good shower.

The car park is a short walk away (5/10 mins) which while isn't far it's not ideal with luggage in bad weather. This wasn't made clear/I didn't see this when I booked. Beds and pillows both very soft. Really noisy on a Saturday night if your room is facing Leopold Square and I didn't appreciate the 5.51am wake up on a Monday morning by the window cleaner!!!!

The hotel is situated perfectly for exploring the city and the building is lovely, full of character and charm. All of the staff are so welcoming and polite and helpful too. The building has so many interesting photographs showing it’s previous history and the hotel is so clean. Another lovely experience is the candle that burns in the reception area filling all of the ground floor corridors and the bar area with a beautiful Christmas cinnamon aroma that added to the charm.

We had an issue with the heating which didn’t seem to work properly. As our room had 3 large windows and was located at the end of the building on 4th floor and also we stayed during the coldest nights of the year we thought that probably contributed to the cold. friends staying on ground floor had no issues with heat and were very warm! When we mentioned this at checkout the receptionist was most apologetic and gave us our breakfast free of charge which wasn’t necessary but was much appreciated.
