Edenhall Country Hotel

MY FAMILY ARRIVED JUST BEFORE 20.30 AND RECEIVED A WARM WELCOME. THERE IS PLENTY OF ROOM FOR PARKING. WE ARRIVED IN TIME FOR AN EVENING MEAL AND ENJOYED VIEWS FROM THE RESTAURANT ACROSS THE WELL KEPT GARDEN AND SURROUNDING COUNTRYSIDE. MY FAMILY WERE ACCOMMODATED IN TWO WELL EQUIPPED DOUBLE AND TWIN ROOMS, OF A REASONABLE SIZE. THE BEDS IN BOTH ROOMS WERE VERY COMFORTABLE. ONE ROOM LOOKED OUT ACROSS THE GARDEN. THE BREAKFAST MENU WAS SUBSTANTIAL, SERVED IN A RELAXED AND PLEASANT ATMOSPHERE. THE HOTEL IS QUIETLY AND SCENICALLY LOCATED IN A BEAUTIFUL VILLAGE, A FEW MILES OFF THE M6 AND ABOUT TWENTY MINUTES FROM KESWICK. THE HISTORY OF EDENHALL IS ILLUSTRATED ON SITE AND IS OF INTEREST.

Nice little hotel not too far from the motorway, made for an easy stop on our way from Scotland back to the South, especially since they permit dogs. In fact, they were really lovely to our dog - the staff were all very friendly and happy to see him. Restaurant is very good for both dinner and breakfast. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom a little small but modern and clean. Good parking. All in all, would recommend this place - especially if you're travelling with a pet.

located outside of Penrith it was possible to get to and from without hitting traffic. this also meant it was a quiet location surrounding the area. the en-suite was very modern and clean. the booklet in the room detailing the area and walls was nice. the staff were friendly and helpful

the evening meal was nice enough but seemed like it was microwaved and so not it’s best. breakfast was much nicer.

The hotel is perfectly situated, set in a lovely location within less than an hours drive to most of the attractions in the lake district.The hotel was comfortable with excellent meals and a good choice of drinks at the bar. Very dog friendly.

The heater in our room (room 1) was either on full blast or off. The thermostat didn't seem to work properly. No light in the shower.

Lovely location, enjoyed the bar meal, beer and a peaceful sleep. Breakfast was good too.

The pictures on Booking.com clearly illustrate a snooker table and a darts board available in this hotel. This was the main reason I booked this particular hotel as our son and his grandad love snooker and darts. They were advised on the day of arrival that these facilities were not available due to covid but as all restrictions in England have been lifted for some time now I think these facilities should be available or the pictures removed as it is misleading.

Staff were very friendly and helpful, we stayed 2 nights enroute home after visiting family for Christmas. The room was very clean with a comfortable bed and nice and warm for a December visit The cooked breakfasts were very good and we dined in the bar/ restaurant both evenings where they offered a varied selections of hot meals at a reasonable price which were tasty with decent portions. The village is quiet but does have a nice short walk from the hotel doorstep and I would definitely stay here again to break up the journey home.

The staff were superb, the receptionist changed / upgraded me to a room with a bath as my original room did not have one despite the advert saying it did. As I was cycling it was something I was specifically looking for! The lady running the restaurant was really attentive too and was looking after the entire dining room with little problem. There was a slight issue the next morning as there was no hot water to shower which was disappointing but I think they had just had their water tanks serviced so I’m sure it would be a one off.

Wonderful location with gorgeous surrounding countryside. Very clean room with a good shower room. Bed was comfortable - slept like a log. Evening meal was inventive and tasty, bar had a good atmosphere. Breakfast was super with real quality ingredients. If I'm back in the area I will definitely stay here again.

The room and bathroom were a little warm for my liking but that's personal choice and adjustable. Other than that there are no negatives about this place.

The Breakfast and evening meal on arrival was excellent we arrived late in the evening 21:00 hrs and Evening meal was ended however the staff made us feel so welcome and said don’t worry about the time. The food was excellent and HOT. We were upgraded to the Penthouse suite which was very comfortable. The next Morning we went down for Breakfast prior to leaving for home. Without reservation it was the best breakfast I have ever had in a Hotel HOT plenty of food the Tea Was proper tea and it came HOT in a big pot. My stay in this Hotel was 5star the cleanliness the staff the room the bedding the Management Perfect if every Hotel was run like this one it would be great. I had 30 years as a Diplomat travelling the World I have stayed in the Top 10 Hotels Globally. This Hotel rates as well as the Top 10 great Women great staff just excellent. I am now 52 years old and I have never put a review up before but this Hotel deserves a Great review

Everything was perfect

We arrived much later than expected due to problems with traffic on the M6, the hosts stayed up for us and could not have been more helpful. Nothing was too much trouble, the breakfast was excellent and we would certainly stay here again. Comfortable and very clean room. Thanks for having us!
