The staff were lovely, really cheerful and kind. The room was massive, the bed huge and very comfortable. We got upgraded to a kingsize, river view for free, which was really appreciated. As was the 11am checkout, biscuits, water and mini fridge. The shower was the best I have used in a hotel in a long time. We checked in after 11pm and it was no problem. The breakfast was buffet style and contained a hot breakfast as well. I loved the location, such a relaxed and unhurried atmosphere. Really wide corridors and lifts everywhere, which I feel would be great for people who are assisted with their walking, those who use wheelchairs, or for those of us who like a bit of space. It is first on my list of the place to stay in South and Central London next time. 5-10 minutes from the DLR underground stop Customs House. We parked at the ExCel arena which is 5 minutes' walk away and is £25 for 24 hours (no hourly rate, I think), which is steep but secure. You pay on the way out with a card at the barrier, so nice and easy. For disabled drivers with blue badges there are spaces within seconds of the hotel (see the pic with the trees in).

Not what we didn't like, but a note to anyone who is staying in a yacht / ship hotel. The window in the room does not open, (which makes sense on a sailing vessel but I didn't realise). There is air conditioning though, but for an outdoor breeze you need to go on deck :) It would be nice to have teapots and a milk jug option, so you don't need to keep going back for a cup of tea at breakfast.

If you want to feel like you are stepping back to a time of luxury yacht travel for the rich and famous you will love staying on the Sunborn. The staff were all so lovely, very positive and all round helpful. If you need to be in the ExCel in London this is a lovely and convenient place to stay.

For me, having to get a lift to reception wasn't my thing - but that's personal. My husband did not mind. The plugs in the bedroom - some are european type and others simply did not accept the plug. So, we only found two working plugs for our stay and one of them was the kettle plug.

Great location and a unique hotel experience. Lovely staff, and they always go out of their way to make sure your stay is comfortable. Lovely grand staircase on the ship. Breakfast had great options and selections for all. From buffet to continental and a good selection of drinks. I'd highly recommend this as your next hotel experience, especially if you are attending any events in Excel. We got upgraded to the captains room, and that is an amazing experience having the deck of the ship to yourselves. Amazing views and a nice place to relax in the evening. We felt honoured and lucky to have that experience. The hotel is on the doorstep to custom house and Elizabeth line, so easy access into central london and Paddington if required.

The only issue we had with our stay was that the air-conditioning was a little weak in the bedroom. So it was a little bit warmer than we'd like, but it was still fine to sleep. It was great in the cockpit room and nice and cold, so maybe the machine in the bedroom needs a recharge or maintenance. Breakfast had food that was a little cooked too much, such as the fried eggs. But to be honest, that's just me being a little picky, and I'm sure if I raised these concerns, the staff would have gone out of their way to resolve it for us so don't let this put you off the amazing experience at this hotel. Everyone has an off day!

Well, we paid extra for a larger room with a balcony and river view. Now, it was well worth the extra as the room was larger than most with a nice view from the 4th floor, which is one away from the top.We liked the separate sitting area and the large bed. Well, there is a restaurant there, plus a pleasant bar with a good menu.

Well.it is on the flight path from the City Airport from 7 am until 6 pm, and the planes have either just taken off or just about to land. Also, you do need to catch an Elizabeth line tube for access to Central London, but they are fairly frequent, and it only takes about 20 minutes. Now, there is no breakfast in your room, which we prefer, but this is only a minor fault.

Staff were super friendly, the hotel was nicely decorated throughout, decent choice at breakfast, room was clean and comfortable. I stay in this area often and the rooms were much bigger than other hotels I've stayed at. This is probably the most convenient hotel location for events at the Excel Centre if the west entrance is being used for your event. There were lots of mirrors so very efficient if there are multiple of you trying to do hair and makeup at the same time.

Two tiny things about the room. The sanitary disposal bags were tricky to get out of the holder in the bathroom and ripped quite a bit when trying to get one out, so either stronger bags or a different holder would be ideal. After a shower the room stayed humid for a while so better extraction/ventilation could be considered. The restaurant was quite pricy so we got dinner elsewhere. There was a wedding one day during our stay so the bar was moved to a different floor, however we weren't notified in advance so we almost walked in on them.

The Yacht Hotel is a beautiful 4-star hotel with an impressive entrance, situated in an excellent location surrounded by stunning views. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and offer a breathtaking view of the Royal Docks. Additionally, the hotel provides a variety of breakfast options to suit different preferences.

This marks my second stay at your hotel. During my visit, I realised I needed to extend my stay by an additional two nights. I approached several staff members at the reception desk, most of whom informed me that they were unable to assist due to the hotel being fully booked. However, my experience improved significantly once Ms. Euridice, the hotel manager, and Luca began their shifts. Their professionalism and assistance were exceptional, and they successfully reinstated my positive opinion of the hotel. I am truly grateful for their support and dedication during this time. Thank you once again for resolving the matter so effectively.

Great location, staff amazingly helpful and polite, clean and spacious rooms. Honestly one of the best hotels I have stayed in London.

Only fault I can raise about my stay was the food we had. The burgers we ordered were very dry and bland. But that’s the only thing I can say bad about my stay and that’s a very minor thing.

Unique experience staying on a yacht , very beautiful with hotel in stunning location . Very spacious rooms and bed very comfortable. Ample choice at breakfast in the restaurant, included in the price .

Our room was meant to be available for check in at 3 pm but wasn’t ready until 3.45 with no apology from staff . They just didn’t seem to care . We had a reservation at a restaurant and we had ended up being late because of this . We explained this to the staff but seemed to fall on deaf ears ! Lacked the personal touch from the staff . No one gets into conversation with you or asks how you’re enjoying your stay .

The location was excellent for easy access to the Excel which we were attending during our stay. It was also convenient to get the Cabe Car across the Thames to the O2. The room was fabulous. We had a balcony with River view and it was stunning. The whole place had a feel f being on a Yacht without being overly nautical. Everything was clean and well presented. Breakfast was ok. I was pleased that a veggie sausage option was given. You had to request this but the serving was delivered quickly and they tasted delicious. Service to replenish the hot food was quick and efficient and requests were dealt with quickly.

During our stay the main bar had been hired for an event so the facilities for guests were moved to the 5th floor which had limited seating as well as no draught beer options. This was ok but not ideal. My only criticism of breakfast would be the breakfast eggs. The scrambled eggs were too sloppy for my taste and the fried eggs looked like they'd just been thrown from a distance on top of each other into the tray.
