Pleasant, well trained, professional staff. Nice bar and menu, comfortable and relaxing. Lovely views and strolls. Stayed in the Travelodge a few days earlier, similar price, but this property is massively better and facilities, will definitely return here, this was my first visit.

Only light breakfast available that day. Choice was sparse. If cooked breakfast had been available it seems over-priced.

After reading some of the reviews after we booked we expected a bad experience at the Pennine Manor but on arrival we were both surprised how much of a nice, clean hotel it is. Our room was spotless, beds very comfy with clean fresh bedding. Bathroom was clean and modern. We had a Sunday lunch which I have had food in some top class restaurants which were poor quality to the food we were served. Reasonably priced and thoroughly enjoyable. Some areas in the hotel are looking a little worn but all perfectly acceptable. Friendly staff, pleasant surroundings and clean.

Very little I didn't like. Only thing I can think of is the radio was on in the restaurant whilst the TV was on at the same time. See not much we didn't like.

This hotel feels like it is on top of the world with amazing countryside views. Whilst it is a little dated, our room was comfortable with good beds. The food - some served in the bar area - was very good indeed with good portion size and some nice finishing touches. The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. Very large, free car park.

Our shower was over the bath which was a bit of a challenge to climb into and the lack of a blind in the bathroom was an issue! Most of the time the hotel was extremely warm but our bathroom remained chilly.

Plenty of parking and the most amazing sunset. Beautiful location. Our stay was brief so can't comment too much on anything. The room was compact for a 'superior' room but lovely and clean. The bed was very comfy and also clean.

The walls are SO thin you could hear people on the floor below. The doors bang shut and the floors creak which I know is indicative of a property of that age. They were massively understaffed the day we arrived so check in was as quick as it could be. Our room was supposed to be a superior room with a bath, but we didn't have a bath. We were also unsure if the drinks in the mini-fridge were included, so left them alone (one can of coke and a bottle of water). They also swipe your card and take a 'holding' deposit on arrival, despite paying in full prior to booking. Not a problem really, but the people checking in front of us were quite put out by it. Not sure if I missed it on the T's and C's?

The room was charming and the bed extremely comfortable. I slept like a log. The location may be a little remote for some people but it gave wonderful views in all directions. I only had a bar snack but it was tasty. The staff were wonderful. I was here to attend a school reunion and had just a tiring 6 hour drive up from South Wales, with nothing but delays and queues. I had been hoping to have a lovely soak in the bath to psych myself up, but when I arrived the lady on reception (Alison) said that the boiler had broken down but an engineer was due by 8pm. I was disappointed, but there is little they could do, so I resigned myself to a chilled glass of wine and a freshen up - I could boil the kettle for warm water after all. They very kindly and unnecessarily gave me the glass of wine with their compliments. I understand when you are dependent on engineers to repair something and that it is out of their control, but a lovely touch. When I got back at night, and in the morning, they were still waiting for a positive outcome on the boiler. Again, I said I understood. Had another 'cat lick' - after all, 1 day without a shower won't kill me!

One of the chairs seemed to have lost it's stuffing so was a little uncomfortable, but the other one was fine. Otherwise I was happy with everything

Warm welcome on arrival. Arrived a little earlier (around half an hour) than check in time, but wasn't a problem to check in at that time. Opted to add breakfast, but cancelled this on check-out as I had made the decision not to have it. Wasn't an issue. Cost to get to and from the hotel to town centre was around £10 which was reasonable.

Toilet seat was a little wobbly. but mentioned this on the questionnaire left in the room. I also made the suggestion that they could perhaps consider an outdoor gym somewhere on the premises to give people the option to workout if they want to. Unsure if there is space in the actual hotel to do this.

We stayed two nights the first breakfast was buffet style and was fine the second breakfast was buffet style for cornflakes, yogurt etc but table service for full english. Both breakfast were good. The room was very clean and comfortable, We had two good nights sleep.

The buffet first breakfast, the plates were cold, investment in a plate warmer would be a good idea, even though they only do this sort of breakfast when they are really busy as the plates were hot when served to the us on the second day. The room was just a little bit tired especially in the bathroom where a cabinet could have a little tlc.

The location has an amazing view and large car park. The room had plenty of tea/coffee, comfortable bed and good shower. Very quiet so had a good nights sleep. Don't be put off with the negatives as they didn't impact our stay, just wanted to make people aware.

The younger staff seemed a little inexperienced and overwhelmed at busy times. The bar was unable to cope after the event and people were queuing for a while. Breakfast was badly organised on the hot food side, there was always a shortage of bacon and a very long wait for more which emptied straight away. The room was very clean but could do with a lick of paint as there were lots of marks on the wall, and maybe a carpet cleaner would help.

The best steak pie I’ve ever eaten in my entire life (and I’ve been to many restaurants!). I’d stop and pop in just for the pie if nearby. A very warm, spotless room and very good value. Lovely views. Nice walks from the hotel with outstanding views. Worth noting there is some motorway noise in the distance but it didn’t stop me sleeping.

Little bit of motorway distant noise.
