Sandman Signature London Gatwick Hotel

We chose to stay here as we have done so before and liked the fact it had everything we needed especially a pool. Very clean and nice reception and bar staff.

Food in restaurant is overpriced and very hit and miss. There were four of us 2 adults and 2 children, no kids menu given until we asked to see dessert menu. I asked why we wasn’t given them when we sat down, the young girl said I didn’t seat you I don’t know. My grandson had a burger specifically asking no tomatoes or pickle, a little while later a young girl came out to say they have put tomatoes in and we can’t take them out 🤷‍♀️ My grandson asked for chocolate ice cream instead of strawberry and got strawberry. I asked for the bill and said I won’t be leaving a tip, the girl said I’ve taken the service charge off I’m so sorry. Not good really for a hotel of this standard.

Comfortable bedrooms and walk in shower a bonus. Breakfast was good but charging 30% more if you don't book is a total money scam. No bottled water in room not good. Hotel not near shops that are easy to get to. No maps available of local area and front desk staff are of little help. Gardens are run down and an anticlimax when you arrive. Business hotel, but not a holiday hotel.

Weeds in garden beds. Staff at front desk without local knowledge or local maps. No water in rooms, 30% surcharge for breakfast up to GBP 17 if you don't prebook, GBP12 if you book. Not advised about this at check in 11pm the night before.

Perfect stay close to Gatwick Airport for a fly out the next day! The room is quite large and I had a wonderful view of the airport. I needed somewhere close to the airport to stay before flying home and this was the perfect choice, the rooms were quite luxurious and spacious!

There wasn't a lot I didn't like, my only suggestion would be some more options for the breakfast for foods to pick up and run, I only stayed the single night and arrived quite late and checked out very early, some go bags of food would be excellent before a long flight.

The location was good. Hotel as expected for a 4 star. The guest services went above and beyond to help us celebrate our first anniversary by decorating the room and providing a bottle of Prosecco and a nice card! Thank you so much for that. The bathroom facilities were great, powerful shower and nice amenities. Bed was comfortable. The bar area for dinner is nice and the staff are quick and friendly. Great value for money

Not much that can be improved. If I had to pick I’d say the showerheads needed descaling and had a slight black mould on the taps.

Nice bathroom with bath and toiletries. Good buffet breakfast, fresh, hot and plentiful. Large room with sofa to relax.

Although the room was warm and comfortable, when we went to the bar/dining area for dinner, it was not comfortably warm. Almost all guests were dining with their coats on as they (the bar/dining areas) are all open plan from the foyer. When I called reception to report that the safe did not operate I was informed that maintenance staff weren't available although we were offered a different room we had already unpacked. Therefore we had to carry money, passports and documents around with us.

The hotel was nicer than I expected and the staff were really lovely. The room was really nice with an added bonus of a microwave. Breakfast was nice too, good selection. Hotel is really close to Gatwick which was handy for our early morning flight.

There was an issue with the lifts as they were being serviced which meant we had to take the service lift and that it was so long winded to get to our rooms. I actually got lost on one occasion and also got stuck in the guest lifts after being told it was ok to use. That was rather scary as I needed to pull the doors opened when they refused to open on my floor after going up and down multiple times by itself and the alarm didn't seem to be working.

Everything was excellent, the room, the price, the facilities, comfort, the room had a view. Will be staying here again and will also look out for Sandman hotels when I travel to other locations. I would like to give a special mention to Ipak on Reception, she was super helpful, friendly and welcoming when we checked in, and was very knowledgeable. Can't wait to visit again.

The body wash in the shower, the nozzle didn't quite work but I could have asked for a replacement and didn't so it's not really a fault, just a minor thing that didn't work.

Overnight stay before an early flight from Gatwick, we booked 4 nights parking which we thought offered great value. Check in and parking was very smooth and simple. Staff very friendly. It's a very large corporate hotel but done very well, beautifully lit everywhere with nice touches. Rooms very nice and generous, and a super comfortable bed. Easy pick up at 4:30am, friendly taxi driver waiting in the lobby. Will be staying again.

Confusion about the "complimentary" taxi. I suggest you speak to the receptionist and check charges.

Staff are always friendly and go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. I usually use this hotel to stay a few nights when I’m visiting down south and it has everything I need for an easy stay. I make use of the pool and gym on my stay and is always clean and up to standards. The resturant serves lovely food! Abit pricey to eat there every night- but definitely worth the treat. This is a great hotel and maintains it’s great reputation each time I stay

Nothing- this place is definitely a favourite

Big room, comfy bed and the pool area was lovely. A swim was a great way to entertain our toddler the morning before our flight. The breakfast selection was also fine. We called in advance and they arranged a travel cot and bedding in the room. There was plenty of room for the cot and our luggage.

The communal areas seem like they have seen better days, the lift felt like it was from a dystopian film with broken buttons, flickering lights and black duck tape. The other lift was however being fixed so I am hopeful that there is an upgrade of both going on but it would need to be staggered to ensure that one lift is working at a time.
