Bedroom and bathroom were very good. Breakfast was exceptional given the options of "eggs royale ; florentine and benedict containing excellently cooked poached eggs. The staff were nicely friendly and above expectations of considerateness and helpfulness.
The bar closed at 10pm on the Thursday and we were nearly refused drinks at 9.50 but the supervisor responded by allowing us to be served up to 10 because we were residents . One of the hotel guests brought a dog into the breakfast room and it wandered around a bit ,not being on a lead...dogs should not be allowed in eating areas and certainly not off leads.

The breakfast was the best ever (this is paid for separately in the morning - don't be tempted to miss it, it's worth every penny). An individual mixed fruit bowl with a wide range of perfect fruit followed by a full English breakfast with sausage and bacon of exceptional quality (a good size too). Breakfast is served in a very pretty period dining room - not as so often the case, the lounge where you had a drink last night. Bedroom was light and airy and spacious with a modern and clean bathroom. Bed was very comfortable, neither soft or hard. Bottles of water, biscuits and quality coffee bags. Staff friendly and helpful.
NONE OF THIS WAS THE HOTEL'S FAULT but worth knowing before you set off. No parking at hotel but the train station adjacent has plenty of room available at £1 for 24 hours at weekend which is great - BUT payment could only be made by Ringo app. We failed miserably on both our phones wasting over half an hour. We did find parking down some side street quite easily. Could easily be overcome but ensuring you are signed up to Ringo before arriving to ensure a stress free end to your journey.

We visited the hotel during our recent cycling trip through the UK. We had an amazing stay. The location is great, the owner and staff are extremely kind and helpful. Rooms are nice, comfortable and clean. We strongly advice to have dinner at the hotel restaurant (Junction Bar), great atmosphere, super tasty food and also live music! Breakfast was also great! Finally, if you are planning outdoor activities in the area (cycling/hiking), this hotel should be your first choice. There is a safe storage room for your bikes and the owner, a cyclist himself, will happily share useful information about the region.

First time stopping here and we will return. We had to stop over due to rail strikrs and we enjoyed our stay.Staff are pleasant warm and friendly and very harworking .Our room , room 20,was bright and airy, fantastic shower and v comfy bed.We thorougly enjoyed our evening meal in The Junction bar and resturant attached. The food was v good qualiity with and varied menu for all.The mushroom and spinach risotto I highly recommend. The Junction staff are led by example by Bev, what a grafter, she is fantastic as were all the lads and lassies too, bar staff amd serving they never stopped ,everyone mucks in, reception staff too and they gaft as only northerners can.You can tell she leads them by example. They all very efficent and attentive and work hard.Housekeeping staff work hard too to maintain v good standard , its a very well run hotel. The roof terrace is a.nice suprise. We will return .Thank you to all.

We stayed for a night en route North and found ourselves in an immaculately clean attic room, with a gleaming and seemingly quite new bathroom, and enough space for three (double + single bed) to rattle about in without too much bother. The beds were fairly comfortable, and the breakfast (at extra cost) was really good. There was a great choice of tea and coffee in the room. The staff were lovely and helpful.
There were some very minor niggles in the bedroom; perhaps the most noticeable were some unnecessary ceiling lights in the eaves that it was almost impossible not to bump your head on, and the fact that the only window was a skylight that we were afraid to leave open on a rainy night. The hotel is over a lively bar (no noise issues at all though) which serves food (same menu as the hotel). The food looked lovely but we were in the mood for something smaller than a full £15-and-up main course (a burger, a sandwich...). It seems that these used to be on the menu but aren't any more; it would be nice if there were a couple of lighter options.

The hotel was lovely! The room was clean, comfortable and nicely decorated with a great bathroom. Everyone, from the gentleman who checked us in (who I believe was the owner) to the bar staff were just so friendly and obliging. The dinner in the bar was beautiful and it was so busy there was such a great atmosphere. Breakfast was slso delicious! My mum and I were staying here as we were going on a helicopter flight from Greenlands Farm so the location was perfect. Would highly recommend this place!
Nothing really, I think they've nailed it!

We only stayed one night and wasn't able to take breakfast due to an early train journey, it was a perfect location for our trip and would stay again. we enjoyed a very good meal in the evening in their restaurant.
We had booked a King Size bedroom but were given a double four poster bed which was far too high for me to get into the bed easily as I'm only five foot, my husband also struggled with the height as being in our 70's we were restricted with the bed height and size. We didn't complain though as only for one night.

The room was quiet and lovely, and quirky. A lot of history to the building which I loved! Wow, a lot of stairs up to the top, lol! The elevator was interesting, haha. I loved being away from the main thoroughfare, having the attic space rooftop window - I did not draw the blinds at night but instead enjoyed the view of stars and clouds and moonlight and birds flying by at random. Some shooting stars, too. Absolutely beautiful, and a time to reminisce and be at peace after a family sad event. Loved it. I fell ill with some bug, so curled up for a day and recuperated there. Had breakfast downstairs the next morning which was awesome. Don't have a full British Breakfast very often, so that was an absolute treat in an inspiring environment. Wishing the new owners every total success in their endeavours with this very interesting and historical property!!!
A tiny bit of a drain smell in the bathroom (I know it is an old building and this can be a challenge), plus the towels in the bathroom smelled a tiny bit moldy due to maybe sitting in the damp atmosphere. Otherwise, towels and linens and the entire experience - above and beyond! Loved the coffee/tea/biscuit offerings. Delicious. Super helpful management and staff downstairs, helped with parking, etc., and in the Bar/Junction/Restaurant. I will be back, that is for sure, and I will be spreading the word about this fun place!!!

Nice decor and facilities with plenty of drink provision
No obvious means of how the shower and basin fittings work so by trial and error! There was a water drip from the WC cistern which in the silence of the night can be heard clearly! PS: I used the bay seat (with friends) at one of the tables in the bar, a footrest would make seating far more comfortable as sitting so high after a while all weight goes onto the underside of your upper legs though perhaps it was me as lean forward too much and need to sit back more!

The room was comfortable and clean, the bathroom modern and the amenities good. The staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful nothing too much trouble. Ate at the restaurant where the menu was varied and the food very good. Location was very central and just off the M6, so handy for Morecambe and the south Lakes.
Could supply a gluten free option for breakfast, although they did have gluten free breads, but that was all.
