cheap cheerful clean relatively quiet
I arrived expecting to check in and open my curtains and watch golfers leisurely play golf into the evening. The place is really a kids soft play pub with a hotel on the side overlooking a roundabout. I arrived and there were 3 kids running up and down the carpark in socks, it was then that I realised that the name of the hotel was a rouse and I had been duped. The kids were escapees from the soft play and were duly rounded up by Sharon, Tracey and Wayne in their tracky bottoms. Wayne was caring two frothy looking largers and what I think was a "rolli" hanging out the corner of his mouth. You get the idea Joking aside I when you don't pay much a clean quiet room is all you expect and thats what I got

When staying there a month ago, we were not made aware of the various options for breakfast when booking over the phone, including children eat for £6.50. Full English breakfast was booked but very expensive for children. No refund for this mistake, especially as we would have not booked full English if we had known the other options. An email was not answered after nearly 4 weeks, nor a request to speak to manager on the Monday of our latest stay. It took until the Wednesday and another request before an assistant manager talked to us. This time we did not book breakfast.

The room was nice and clean. Nice comfy bed and sheets. Lovely supply of tea and coffee. extra pillow brought quickly after request. Check in lady is lovely please pass on our thanks. Bar food (nachos) really lovely and great value for money.
The shower gel provided wasn't great, fragrance or foaming. The dispenser was hanging off the wall as if staff were about to refill it but then forgot. The child's bed placed directly under the wall heater, yes I made sure that it wasn't switched on but would be a danger had it been. or cold if needed but unable to use. The picture frame above the heater is damaged from the heater. After staying for a friends wedding, the hotel was full but the breakfast supplies were only restocked on request, surely you knew things would need replenishing more often without having to be requested. bread for toast, orange juice, plates etc. The floors and stairs are extremely creaky...

Comfy beds, plenty of hot water for a shower etc.
Could have done with more toilet rolls, so did have to ask. Also would have liked more tea bags, we should have asked really. Also mugs were a little small. Floorboards slightly creaky so could hear people walking around at night and early morning. Did have to wait a little while the first morning for breakfast and one of the breakfasts was a little mixed up. (Got the impression they were short staffed at breakfast time).

Lovely hotel inside and out. Restaurant just there with outside seating. Staff is always around if you need them and very helpful. Parking on site, rooms very clean and equipped with everything u need.
The key card to our room wasn't working for some reason so tried 3 different cards before being put in a different room. However the staff was really good at constantly bringing us new cards and checking themselves what could be wrong. So either way problem was solved fast and efficiently.

easy check in and check out decent sized room that was clean and tidy, little noise from outside or inside hotel was heard even though we were over entrance. Location very handy for M1 J37, and Meadowhall Shopping Centre (15 mins) where we were going on Sunday, Breakfast ample and quickly served.
Although the evening meal was good, they were totally out of my first choice (steak pie and chips) my wife ordered Gammon Steak with fried egg and pineapple, guess what no pineapple and didn't even put a second egg on meal. To run out of chips is poor to say the least, would have thought they would have bought some from local supermarket to save having to tell customer they had none.. lol..

the staff are always friendly which is why I like staying there as a female travelling alone, I always feel safe
when I have stayed before I ordered my food using the tap to eat app as I travel alone I like to stay at my table, I have always been able to get a receipt for these orders, however I was told I could not get a receipt for my meals this time as I ordered via the app, so I have been unable to claim the meals back on my expenses

Despite being a little out of the way, the Fairway is a great pub. I was a wedding photographer for a client there in the Bluebell Suite which is a fantastic venue, right next to the enclosed beer garden. The Staff were all very friendly and helpful and the food was plentiful and delicious. I can thoroughly recommend the Fairway pub and Bluebell Suite as the perfect place to hold a wedding with everything on site and nothing too much trouble for the hotel and functions team. I stayed the night as I didn't want to travel late at night and the bed was very comfortable, not much noise from the traffic nearby and even plenty of tea/coffee for the morning.
The property itself may be a little dated with old signage and carpet that has seen better days, but this is in no way a reflection of the value, service and comfort of the hotel.

It's a big hotel building with ample parking just off a main intersection roundabout therefore worth asking for a room that doesnt face the main road. It's clean and modernly decorated in the public areas such as the bar but once you get to the residents' area it is less well maintained and quite grubby. The corridor carpets have well establushed travel paths and the edges dont meet the hoover often. Our room, 21, had a lot of cobwebs in the corners and just needed a good clean. The bathroom had everything you need but was dated and needs some love and attention, small, details like the loo roll holder was hanging on by a thread. The Hot Water warning is needed.. the water is scalding if left to run so be aware. There is an electric radiator and we had a small desk in the room but ho aircon. The windows open about 4 inches with a security strap limiting opening but the road outside was somewhat noisy as was the rattly old desk fan. The nights were hot and everyone in our group staying at the hotel commented on having poor sleep due to the heat. The bar prices are reasonable for an hotel bar. The breakfast was ok, not worth £8 and the continental breakfast range with half an hour to the end of the 8 to 10am breakfast hours was laughable. See pics. That said the staff were brilliant and always willing to help. Overall it's a nice hotel with great staff but ut does need some money spending on it. If they have a No Smoking policy it needs to be highlighted more. On our first night someone half way along the corridor was smoking in their room and trying to mask the smell with cheap perfume. On our second night the guy in room 22 was trying to blow the smoke out of the slightly open window so that it came straight in to our room.
