Hotel Ambassador

This hotel checked all my boxes for a short stay in Solothurn. I have stayed in the city many times on business trips but this time I was passing by privately. The hotel offers a very convenient location south of the river. A few parking paces for guests are available but they were occupied when we arrived. But the staff was very helpful in finding an alternative. There are a few parking garages (one with charging option which we were looking for) close by. Reception was very friendly and all the hotel details were explained very patiently. Rooms are basic but with comfortable beds and clean, properly working showers. There are no in-room coffee or tea facilities but guest can get free coffee from a machine near the reception. There is also a fridge with drinks and a request to write down anything you take from it. Very friendly. Breakfast also basic but good and it can be enjoyed on the small terrace in the back of the hotel. Prices are very friendly compared to the other (slightly more upscale) hotels in Solothurn.

Excellent position between the railway station and city center, if you want to explore the surroundings by bus/train you can' find a better accommodation. Comfortable bed, quiet room, good breakfast.

Room size ("cozy room") is OK, bathroom is borderline claustrophobic.

The room was very clean, quiet and comfortable. The hotel is a little dated but good value for money. The manager was friendly and the breakfast buffet had a good selection. The hotel is close to the station and about a 5-10 min walk to the old town.

Small hotel with good location near the rail station and old town. Very nice personal, good breakfast and very good coffee.

Thanks that it was not too hot days, the rooms don’t have A/C.

The location is near to the train station which is super convenient if you are coming by public transport. the facilities were good and room was clean.

As this room had a shared bathroom ; the bathroom was occupied by another person for a long time.

great location. The staff was very nice, easy selfcheck in.

the only problem was on Sunday morning. The cleaning service started cleaning really early and was loud. But apart from that, our stay was good.

This was our second stay at the Ambassador and again it was a very pleasant stay. It was very comfortable and the staff was like always very kind and helpful. We would definitely recommend Ambassador Hotel!

it was very hot - fan was ok but difficult. The room had a funny smell when we went in - like pipes in the bathroom. The location was perfect near the train station.
