Acquarello Swiss Quality Hotel

Excellent location. You can get a little train right from Lugano to the final stop (only one stop) and the hotel is right there. Breakfast very good, boiled eggs, cheese, lots of fresh fruit, yogurts, latte, expresso. Beds comfortable. Rooms decent enough size for Switzerland. Staff on hand to help and nice welcome. Bonus of having a Ticino Card which allows you free public transport in the whole canton and discounts on some attractions/boat cruises. Nice 'lobby' like area in hotel, very quite, managed to have some zoom calls there. Wifi connection good.

The air conditioning was a bit loud during the night time. Apart from that enjoyed everything. The photos/description was accurate and nothing unexpected.

- The location is perfect. It's close to Lugano main train station but you have to take a funicular up to the station with the cost that is for free if you have Swiss travel pass. The location is also easy to go in to the city area, the park, the lake, the shopping center. - Lugano, itself is quite more impressive than I expected. It is a lively city. The supermarket such as Manor food is open until late at night unlike other cities in Switzerland that everything close within 6-7:00 PM, They are also many restaurants not far from the hotel usually Italian food. - The area around the hotel is safe even late at night (we stayed in Summer time). - private large bathroom - good wifi, nice staffs - has air-conditioner (very important for summer) - has refridgerator

- The hotel use key system that they only give 1 key for 2 of us for 1 night. - The variety of breakfast is a bit small, no hot food, few choice of cheeses and cold cuts but they have a lot of fresh fruits, you can even make orange juice yourself. - From funicular station to the hotel, there are stair steps that would be an obstacles if you have large luggages. But from the station to funicular station itself has a wheelchair path that you can use if you have large luggages. - The hotel looks a bit conservative from the outside but great function inside.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at your hotel and wanted to provide feedback on my experience. Overall, I was very impressed with the hotel's location and cleanliness. The location was perfect for my needs, as it was close to the places I needed to visit during my stay. Additionally, the cleanliness of the hotel was exceptional. The room was spotless and well-maintained, which made my stay very comfortable. Thank you for a wonderful stay and I look forward to visiting your hotel again in the future.

Staff are helpful and friendly. Received a welcoming gift at the reception desk. The room and private bathroom is clean. Water pressure is good. Bring your own bedroom slipper if you do not want to walk around the bedroom floor with your shoes or barefoot. Location is ideal, it’s within the city and easy to go around. Train station is also within a minute or two when you use the funicular.

When not using the funicular, it can be a difficult walk bringing a luggage from the train station to the hotel because you would need to walk through some stairs and most of the pathway is uneven ground.

Located right in the centre. 3 minutes walk and you are at the lake. If you are traveling by train: funicular stop is at the train station up the hill and next to the hotel entrance down the hill (1,5 minutes ride). If you are fit, you roll / climb the stairs. Very clean room and premises in general. Super friendly staff. Basic amenities. Complimentary bottle of water and coffee machine in the room. Breakfast: enough choice to start into the day. Very good coffee. Try that freshly made dark bread!

Was a bit pricey for that size of the room, with no balcony and with the window view (3rd floor) into the wall (there are some pictures hanging outside to cover that grey wall, I assume). The noise from funicular -till midnight and starting again at 5 am- could possibly be of an issue. Didn't find it bad though. This is just to be mentioned.

Easy to manage booking, nice staff on site. The property is in the middle of the old town, easily accessed from the funicular station at the bottom of the hill. The rooms are always clean and they always have the amenities promised (e.g. air conditioning, wi-fi etc.). Breakfast is the same: it is a standard continental selection, which caters for sweet toothed people or the other side with ham-cheese, eggs etc. (depends on which one you like or normally take). The value for your money is definitely great.

Nothing really, it is a good value for money. Obviously as the place is not a palace or a grand hotel, do not expect 5-star conditions. It is more of a budget hotel, good value for money for solo travelers or for families in the middle of town. Also, as it is literally in the middle of town, don't expect full silence overnight during summer days, as that is not under the control of the hotel (if you visit in winter, it is very much silent though :))

The hotel is near many restaurants, shops, etc. Not for from the main transportation stations and close to the funiculare that carries you up and down the city. The hotel also provides a free city transportation card that can be used for free transportation around the city, discounts at shops and museums, and more. Breakfast is pretty good. Simple yogurts, fruits, ham, cheese, breads, etc. Also provided a safety kits to guests (hand gel, masks, sanitation Wipes, etc)!

It's a little tricky to find the hotel and after searching and follow Google Maps for about 10 minutes I just happened to stumble on it. I felt silly because it was right in front of me the whole time, but quite hidden.

The booking and check-in / -out processes are really smooth. They give you a local travel card for your stay, which is a nice bonus for the price. The staff is really helpful and the hotel is located right at the bottom of the cog railway (Citta).

The only point for me is the breakfast, but it is really nice, just not my normal choice. So it is not the hotel's fault and I did take breakfast, it is just not my first option what they offer in their selection (they have cold cuts and cheese, bread, cereals, nice sweet croissants from the bakery, so it is really nice). Thank you nevertheless!

Very good breakfast with soft butter croissants, dark bread with raisins this time and fresh fruit (things I eat).

I felt warm at night, as the sheets might not be cotton, or the mattress protector might be synthetic. There is of course air conditioning, but I try to avoid using it. Not all the personnel is pleasant unfortunately.

The hotel is not “charming” to look at compared to other places in Lugano but it’s ideally located, the room was modern and spotlessly clean, the bed was excellent and the facilities perfect. The staff were extremely kind and helpful and the breakfast was good. I definitely recommend this hotel!
