The Train View

First of all, I want to thank for the owner and his wife. 🙏 Because here the checking time is after 14:00. But when we went to Nuwara Eliya, it was 4:00 in the morning. 🧖🥶😱😨 When we gave a call, they talled us to come. That humanity is very valuable. It was very late when we went for a walk that day. They were good people by preparing food for us at 12.00 am. And there was delicious food and a beautiful view. This is my first visit to Nuwara Eliya. Enjoyed it to the max. Really a very good place. Thank you very much for all the care given to us.😍🙏😍

Room and bathroom are spotless and have a beautiful view on the green Tea Hills. Mattress very comfortable with fresh bed sheets. Breakfast was included delicious and abundant made by Gauri's hands. She made typical Sri Lankan Curry Idyappam with eggs on Toast, a Pot of delicious Local Tea, home made Coconut chocolate cake, Slices of Toast with mango jam. Her husband was very kind and very helpful taking my luggage up the stairs and giving me very good information on Local walks and Local Buses to travel around

I liked everything

The perfect stay to break up the long train ride between Kandy and Ella. Short distance from train station and set in the beautiful tea fields. Breakfast was one of my favorite in Sri Lanka so far! Note: if coming from train station, don’t follow the google maps route instead of going right at the main road turn left and walk about 200m then take the stairs on the right just past the post office which will take you straight up to the property.

Everything!! The family is so nice and welcome. If you pick the room with no toilet inside, it is small, but the toilet is anyway just for yourself, so no problem. We had dinner and breakfast there , it was incredible!! There is a tiny walk to do from the main street, but you will pass through the local people's house, and that's the best part. I don't know about the train view but the view of the tea plantation is absolutely gorgeous and worth the price! I want already to come back! Thanks for the experience.

Selva welcomed us with open arms and made us feel at home. A beautiful guesthouse opposite the railway station, the room was clean,modern cozy and very comfortable bed. The views are breathtaking where you can see out from the balcony of the tea plantations. To top it all our experience at the train view finished with an amazing traditional Sri Lankan breakfast which his wife had made fresh for us, Dahl and string hoppers, pancakes and the local tea, it was perfect and the first time we’d tried Sri Lankan breakfast 10/10 from us! Thankyou Selva your an amazing host and we wish you all the best 🤗 (We travel by car and wanted to try the train ride from nanuoya to Elle, Selva knows all the times and offered to have a dinner cooked for us for when we we’re back which was very kind of him. Times it departs is at 9am and 12:45pm and a return one is 7/7:30pm)

Very close to the railway station. Owner greeted me with tea and some delicious cake and helped organize a tuk-tuk tour of the area that evening and to go to hike World's end the next morning before leaving. I had time to hike and return and shower before the 12:30 train and he sent some sandwiches since I missed breakfast.

The door to the room was a bit sticky to open and swung open of you didn't lock it. Also there was no soap or toilet paper, but for the price I didn't really care since I had my own.

The owner is so nice and the breakfast is amazing! You get what you pay for, a small room but we didn’t need more space. There’s no fan or AC, but because it was a bit colder (15-20 degrees) when we stayed in November we even slept in our hoodies to stay warm. It lived up to the expectations for the price we paid, and I would recommend it for 1-2 night for the location, the nice owner and the food!

There were no toiletries and toilet paper when we were there, luckily we brought our own.

Close to the train station in Nuoya few kms from Nuara Eliya. Easy to walk from station to save on transport. Family run home with guests staying above. Breakfast sri lankan style and tasty. Good value room also.

Location not in Nuara Eliya. You will always need a tuktuk back and forth and this isn't as cheap as you would hope for. No AC. Water in room warm rather than hot. Lack of plug sockets. Felt a bit rushed by the owner to finish our breakfast / dinner.

The room had a great view, very comfy bed and it was pretty clean. Plus, I could enjoy some amazing scenery from the windows and the terrace. The family was lovely, too and they spoke decent English. This is actually a perfect place to stay if you're visiting Nuwara Eliya. The Train View is in Nanu Oya, right at the train station (but don't worry, Nanu Oya is a small and sweet place so it's too noisy there or something) and Nanu Oya is about 20 mins from Nuwara Eliya (you can take the local bus and the bus ride is really scenic). I also liked that there were plenty of local restaurants around.

Good location right by the train station. It was a really peaceful setting overlooking tea plantations. There were frequent buses into Nuwara Eliya which was really convinent. The bed was big and comfortable. The host was very friendly and helpful. The Sri Lankan breakfast was the best we've had here, really tasty and served when you want.

The room was very small for two people. The wifi wasn't working when we were there but this isn't the hosts fault and they were very apologetic for that!
