Parador de Segovia

Great position.Very Clean,Food Good,Good Value 99% staff good.

I been visiting Paradores for 30 years and been greeted on arrival. The woman on reception this visit had her head down in her computor linked to phone. She never once looked up to day hello and wont be long!After 5 minutes standing waiting I threw my wallet on the counter which forced her to look up.Just a straight face no greeting.I have a bad leg so had to stand with my walking stick. The normal lady with short cut light hair is very good.This younger longer dark haired girl needs to be retrained!!

All rooms and the public areas have a fantastic view of Segovia from a nearby hill. (The only downside is that the town itself is not within walking distance). This is partly because of the interesting design of the building. It appears to be a retro 'brutalist' design - but it works! Large airy public spaces with interesting shapes that have been enhanced by clever interior design. And, despite the lofty ceilings on a cold, drear day it was lovely and warm inside. Restaurant served tasty local delicacies.

Only single beds available - would have preferred a double. Duvets were a bit thin for winter - but heating was toasty.

The location is excellent with a stunning view of Segovia. The room was very spacious and comfortable with a wide and comfortable bed and an excellent bathroom. There was also ample storage space for a longer stay. The car park was large and free.

There were no cooked items available for breakfast, whereas other pardores we have stayed in have offered freshly cooked eggs.

The architecture of the hotel is stunning, it has real James Bond lair vibes! Situated above the city the views are amazing all day and night. The pool looked lovely and there was cafe/ restaurant service available. Large capacity car park and free parking much appreciated.

Bathrooms were a little dated but still very clean and ours included an excellent shower. We had bar meals which were of a good quality and reasonable price but nothing special.

The room and swimming pool were great. Also, the rooms were very spacious and well equipped. The breakfast was world-class. I would not hesitate to recommend.

Getting back to the hotel on a night out in Segovia proved challenging. There was a big party/festival going on in Segovia on the night of our stay. Getting a taxi back to the hotel was impossible. To be fair this wasn't the hotel's fault, but it left us (and probably other guests) high and dry that evening with no option but to walk all the way back to the hotel. Perhaps they could've pre-empted the demand and arranged some kind of transport/shuttle for the guests? Just a thought.

I have stayed at the hotel 2 / 3 times before and it is always something to look forward to.

Phone charging connection in the rooms would have been helpful. I did not travel with an adaptor for my phone or I pad. I know it is now possible to just plug in a mobile phone lead into plug in the wall with a USB lead. I know I am being picky. This did not affect my stay because I was able to charge my phone in the car.

Friendly and helpful staff; large, clean, comfortable rooms; excellent WIFI; great food in the restaurant and cafeteria. All the things you can expect from a Parador. And a spectacular view of the city and it's main monuments - the aquaduct, Cathedral and Alcazar.

The location is difficult - it's on a hill overlooking the city so you get spectacular views. But you have to take a cab in and back every time you want to go into the city if you don't have a car. It's a bit of an annoyance. Not clear why they built it here as it's not in any kind of castle or heritage building as is often the case with Paradors. Also, there wasn't enough staff in the cafeteria. During our stay, there were lots of people using the cafeteria and it was quite often difficult to get a waiter's attention, they were so busy. But the staff did their best and were pleasant.

Segovia Parador has an amazing location, located north overlooking the city. We really liked its modernist architecture and interior. Very clever design. Its panoramic views from the restaurant and outside terrace are fabulous. We had dinner watching a thunder storm in the mountains behind the city. Well worth it just for that.

It’s quite a way outside the city, if like us you want to walk. Granted we could have simply got a taxi.

The location of the hotel was great. It had an amazing view of the Fort and Cathedral across the valley. The pool and garden area were very nice to relax in the afternoon. The breakfast was very nice, with so many choices including hot and cold dishes. The rooms were a good size and very clean.

The service for dinner could have been better. We ordered some things that we never got or had to continue to ask for before another server finally brought it to us. Website said there was a gym, but the hotel did not have one.

This isn't a 'normal' Paradores. It's a large, modern purpose built hotel with sizeable conference/corporate facilities. I think most rooms have balconies with uninterrupted views over Segovia. Very spacious, good restaurant food and service.

Our welcome wasn't what I would normally expect, but acceptable. Perhaps the receptionist was more used to dealing with business clients than tourists.
