Hotel Europa

The location was perfect. Access was easy moving around the room and hotel.

No tea/coffee facility in the room . Travelled with a family member with mobility issues. Therefore can’t just quickly pop out for a tea/coffee. Not always convenient to have room service if you just need a cup of something through the night. I provided my mum with a kettle and tea and milk . There was a small fridge to store the milk.

Great Hotel in a superb location. Staff were very attentive to our needs and questions. The room was light, clean and spacious, as was the bathroom

Very hard to pick a fault with Hotel Europa. It's almost the perfect benchmark for what we want in a hotel.

Previous reviews and photos showed a nice 3 star hotel with clean relatively large rooms in a fantastic location. Spot on! Clean rooms, nice beds & good air con was lovely to return to on hot afternoons after touring the city's museums and parks. The rooms had sweet little balconies that looked out on lively streets or the main Plaza del Sol. Our room (409) was great for looking out over the side street. Shutters and good windows blocked out most music and happy conversations from the street below. Great bath tub/fixtures. Restaurants, museums, the Royal Palace were all within walking distance and the metro was close, too. Kind, helpful staff. 20 minute/30 euro taxi ride to airport for early flight.

No coffee maker in room.

We liked the service, spacious clean rooms, prime location, and value. Hotel Europa is located right on the heart of Marid and steps away from Plaza del Sol. This is a prime location, walkable to and from any prime location youll want to go. It is important to know that the area is a "pedestrian area" with some exceptions at nigh for trash pickup. Taxies must be planed and requested. The area is pleasantly safe with Police and security 24/7. Restaurants outside seating is part of the experience. The Hotel Staff is always available and willing to help with various polyglots in staff and throughout the hotel. Rooms are clean and pacious, room services are serviceable.

Unfortunatly, our rooms had a view to noware or an interior something. Frankly, this is just a lame complane to fill the box.

Fantastic location, right in the heart of Madrid. Close to most of the major tourist sites and facilities that the city has to offer. Very convenient for the metro. There was a café/bar attached to the hotel which made it very convenient to get a meal or drink.

The room was fairly sound proof but because I had a room on the first floor that overlooked Puerta de Sol there was constantly street noise. The Wi-Fi was a little weak in my room and I had to sit in reception to get a decent signal. Also as the hotel is based in a pedestrianised area my drop off/pick up point for my taxi was a few streets away.

No access by Taxi, No coffee machine or kettle in the room.

Could not fault the location. Very central to everything. Plenty of meal options in the area and metro less than 50 metres away. The taxis were further away owing to the hotel being next to the pedestrian only area. This also made it free from traffic noise so another bonus.

I missed not being able to make just a quiet tea or coffee in my room. I would have also liked access to an iron as having travelled for 24 hours, the clothes just needed a press, not a wash. An ironing room that had booked access via our room key with an iron would have been perfect. I also found the aircon almost imperceptible. I had to open the window to the internal atrium every night to feel any cool air. The room would have been better with a fan.

The location was truly amazing! The hotel was close to everything we wanted to see, and it was right next to a subway station. The view over the plaza was my favorite part, truly lovely. Room was very clean. Beds were fine. Staff were helpful and truly kind. Great experience overall!

The beds were a bit too hard for our liking. We did ask the staff for restaurant recommendations, and they pointed us to the restaurant attached to the hotel. That's fine, of course, but I'd love to have broader recommendations. It was a great experience overall, and I'd love to stay at this hotel again.

The location was superb being right on Puerta del Sol. The cafe was great - good choices for reasonable prices. The staff was generally friendly and helpful, especially housekeeping and reception. The accessible room and bathroom was really very helpful for my daughter who is on a wheelchair.

We stayed three times over the course of 2.5 weeks (we had breaks in between when we travelled north and south). The first 2 stays we were located in rooms that were quiet with very good facilities (including free water on first day and toiletries). The last stay they put us on the other side of the property which had less noise insulation (we could hear the dryer and toilet from other rooms). The sink drains were also clogging (which i mentioned to reception).

The property is literally in the middle of all the action! NOW that does mean, if you have a room overlooking the street front you WILL have noise. We knew what we were in for, and we loved it. The restaurant is really excellent, and should I be embarrassed to admit, that more often than not we returned for meals. Breakfast was not included in our booking. We went to the breakfast buffet (13euro/person) and found it to border on classic (free) all American (sorry/not sorry) hotel breakfast buffets. Not at all what we enjoy and in the end, it was cheaper for us to eat at the restaurant.

It is not a complaint, but I did suggest to the desk staff that when people checked in, IF breakfast was not included in their tariff, explaining that they have a choice of the buffet (upstairs ) or breakfast downstairs. It would have then occurred to me to go upstairs and check the buffet out before committing.
