Mercure Lugo Centro

The breakfast was good. But the best thing about the hotel was the restaurant. Superb top class food. Bear in mind its difficult to find a good restaurant in Spain (unless in big city): most are bars and cafes. Location was good- 15 min walk to the walled city part. Car park is part of the hotel (underneath) and you can pay as part of the bill - abut 16 E a night. Free parking on the road but it was a hire car so... Nice big room. Fridge with snacks and beverages.

Small admin error - double bed instead of twin - but they fixed it. Staff very always pleasant and helpful.

The hotel is very avant-garde, but still elegant and beautiful. The check in-out concept is rather unsual, but very quick and easy, just as expected. Plus there's PHEV charging on several parking spaces

Lovely quiet room with comfortable bed. Parking below the hotel (extra cost) was easily accessible and spacious. Smart TV was huge. We ate at their gastro bar and the food was very good and reasonably priced.

Breakfast (extra cost) was disappointing. Admittedly we were towards the end of service but many things appeared to have finished. There were no bowls for yoghurt and there were only decaf capsules left for the coffee machine. Someone had dropped melon on the floor and it remained there throughout our breakfast despite staff passing it by.

The hotel is located close to the old town. It has its own car park with direct access to the hotel via lifts. The room was spacious, with good facilities and comfortable. Breakfast had an excellent variety of cold and hot food and beverages.

I didn’t like shower without a door, nor the toilet light that came on automatically and disturbing my partner in the night and the washbasin in the room was also disturbing when you wash your hands in the night.

Exceptionally clean rooms and public spaces. A friendly, attentive staff provided consistently great service. The food is very good and it’s a great location from which to explore the town and area further. We would definitely stay here again.

Some of the staff seems to work 12 hour days 6+ days in a row. Perhaps they are currently understaffed.? Didn’t really effect the quality of our service but we noticed it.

The hotel is really new and modern and the rooms are really beautiful. The staff is nice.

Unfortunately it is quite difficult to find staff that speaks enough English to understand your requests. But this can be solved by speaking with hands and some Spanish words. Be prepared that check out might take some time. A minor detail I had a double bed made out of two beds. They were not connected to each other so they always slipped in the night.

Great location and lovely modern hotel with plenty of free parking. Dogs were welcome which was good, although not in the public areas, which is understandable. Easy access to the old town. Continental breakfast was a buffet style and very good, with plenty of choices.

The evening meal was a bit disappointing, the restaurant was empty apart from one coach party, we were put in a downstairs restaurant along with the coach party, food was buffet style and adequate only.

Stylish hotels with all the amenities. Parking below ground next door, nice terrace and bar, roomy lobby. Room was very clean, had lots of space, enormous beds (loved those) and looked amazing. Great breakfast and a very friendly and helpful guy behind the counter who helped us to city map (we only noticed it was his first week because he said so).

We had to leave too soon: one afternoon is not enough for Lugo or the hotel :-)

Yes, this place is ranked high for a reason - it is that good. Few steps away from the historic city center, everything still smells fresh new. Generous breakfast with individual made hot dishes, no problem with really late check-in, super-friendly staff and home-away-from-home atmosphere. Would definitely stay again when in Lugo!

No physical door to shower area, but this seems to become a new standard in hotels design. Not a problem, just observation. Apart from that it's just ideal.

Excellent location , short walk to centre. Rooms very modern , spotlessly clean & very comfortable bed.

Breakfast was a bit disappointing as seemed to be NO STAFF in the breakfast area at all , no one knew how to moperate the coffee machine / where to get hot water for tea. No cups , plates available , ran out of fruit etc.
