Exe Tartessos

This was our first visit to Huelva and so with the difficulty of finding parking we booked the Hotel car park, which is not attached to the Hotel but a little further down the road. We were sent instructions for accessing the car parking garage which involved being given access to a pedestrian area. Once at the parking garage there was an intercom and the reception directed us to the Hotel about 100 yards or so up the road. The Hotel itself was very nice and in a such a prime location for walking the area and the many shops, restaurants and cafes. The streets around the hotel are mostly pedestrian and get very busy in the evenings with all the tapas restaurants and cafes and shops that stay open late. They have siesta in the pm and some of the shops open at 5pm again until 9pm. We really enjoyed our visit here and recommend the Tourist Board in the old Hotel Colon, beautiful gardens and lots of history. Would definitely stay here again.

Breakfast was adequate and cost 13 euros per person. One thing I might mention is that they need to put pads on the bottom of the heavy chair legs to stop the constant scraping of chairs when people move about. But this is only a minor complaint. However, don't expect to get a lot of sleep on a Friday and Saturday night as the Spanish stay up until the early hours partying in the street.

The reception staff could not have been better, they were super friendly and always happy to see you, always helpful and accommodating with every request and all had very good English. The rooms are modern and clean. The breakfast selection was excellent. Very good value for money and would definitely stay here again.

A bit of an issue with noiseproofing, it is a central location so of course the street is a bit noisy on the weekends but the main issue is that I could also hear the noises of other guests in their rooms. A heads up if you are a light sleeper!

- During the time staying in a hotel, there was some construction ongoing, which several times turned off the hot water, so I had to call reception and get it on again, but this was not a big deal.

Location is great - in the centre of town. It's also near a great coffee breakfast place (la petite cafe). Rooms are a good size. Staff are cheery.

The lifts - two of them but both small and can be a bottleneck at busy times. Keycard system didn't always work first time. The shower fitting was loose.

this was centrally placed in the town. A short walk to all the main area. The town was very buzzy and great old Spanish architecture everywhere. There were great bars and restaurants close by. In the evening it could be a little noisy with the windows open, but the benefit of being right in the town outweighed this. The room was a standard good hotel room and the bed was huge.

I like a proper shower not a bath shower. I have a bad knee so do not like getting into and out of a bath to shower.

Spacious bathroom. Good beds. Perfect location next to cosy shopping street. Great places to have breakfast outside on the pavement.

The shower was small and very old. Very noisy outside late in the evening. Expensive breakfast.

The location was fantastic. They have parking which needs to be reserved previously and paid at the hotel. The rooms were nice.

the breakfast could definitely use some work - more options need to be added and better take advantage of local products. It needs better soundproofing asap - we could hear parents and kids screaming most of the night.

Super nice staff, great location, very good breakfast and confortable rooms.

Gym room is very bad: poorly equipped, machines are broken, no air conditioning, dirt in hidden spots. Balconies could have proper furniture (however spartan).

All in all it was a good stay. The hotel is in the middle of Huelva and almost everything is at walking distance. there is an open air parking place where you can park you car for about 9€/night.

There was a sink in the middle of the bathroom which had a nasty smell.

location was great - very central with cheap parking available nearby, loads of good restaurants in the same street.

Room was quiet and clean, but a rather unsavoury smell in the room that may have been plumbing issues. not enough to change rooms or complain, but if you experience it as well, it wasn’t a one off!
