Senator Cádiz Spa Hotel

Great location in the old town. Relaxing pool on the roof with sun loungers. There is no bar up there, but you can ring down and they will bring things up to you. Pool is small, but nice as a splash pool to cool down in. Spa was nice too, and a good way to spend a few hours on a rainy afternoon.

The first room I was given had an internal window overlooking reception and underneath an atrium so no daylight and not great. It’s usually clear when you book on this site if rooms don’t have windows, or what the view is. But this time it didn’t which is disappointing, I wouldn’t have chosen to pay that much for a room with no daylight. I booked a room with a city view. Hotel were great and moved me as soon as they could and gave me a voucher for the spa too.

The hotel was in a fantastic location for all the main attractions of downtown Cadiz, the port and beaches. It also has onsite parking...... For an additional charge!!?

The hotel on the whole was fine but didn't really feel like a 4 star hotel, more like a 3, especially compared to other 4 star hotels we have stayed at in Spain, it just had a feeling of faded grandeur, and needed a good spruce up, especially the glass lift. Also our room was supposed to be a family room but felt a bit small, all the beds were touching etc, my main bug bear with our room was that on arrival it stank of cigarette smoke, I appreciate it's difficult to inforce no smoking policies but extra measures could/should be in place in family rooms.

The Reception staff were excellent especially a young lady called Ana she was exceptional. We used room service at the end of the evening food was lovely, We had an alleyway room which was comfortable would request another room if we were to stay there again. The Bar staff were polite and run off their feet with drinks orders, the hotel is central for all the new and old town which is grerat there is a few bars and restaraunts right on your doorstep. All in all the hotel is in a good area.

We used the onsite spa which was great but could do with some signs over the different dipping pools to explain what they are for. The Hotel slightly more expensive than others in the area.

The location was good, within the historic centre and near the port. within walking distance of the main attractions in this area of Cádiz, shops restaurants, and historic attractions. The breakfast was a buffet with a good selection and the staff were pleasant and helpful. Limited parking was available in the hotel garage but a very tight squeeze accessing it and we found it hard to find in the first place. We didn’t use our car whilst there. Parking is also available at a paying car park very nearby. Generally comfortable hotel and a good choice for our few days in Cádiz.

We were persuaded to upgrade our room upon checking in for a larger one with a seating area. However we were underwhelmed with the room and wouldn’t have bothered in hindsight. The bed was comfortable and bathroom well equipped but the room itself a bit tired and gloomy with brown decor and cheap looking furniture, could do with a facelift and a bit of colour.

I arrived before check in time, so left my luggage at the storage room, when I came back, my luggage was already there, small detail but these things create all the picture. This hotel is central located, room and bathroom was big. The beds are huge:) During reservation I asked for room in higher floor and I got one. Room was clean, breakfast was ok, staff in general very friendly.

This is 4* hotel but after his best days, needs complete renovation, everything is outdated. The breakfast room is not one but divided in three different rooms which is a bit annoying. You can connect two double rooms thru connecting doors which is good for families but on the other hand the sound proof is very bad, you can hear almost anything. Luckily you can close the door to the bedroom and eliminate the noise from corridor.

lovely, really generously big room, with two enormous clean comfortable double beds, also very spacious bathroom, beautiful central courtyard to sit and eat in with pants, tiles, nice furniture, and ok breakfast. The highl;ight for me was the 'Roman style' spa which was brilliant. All underground, but with about 7 separate pools, one big enough to swim properly in , others full of for example, floating fresh lemons, another with big pebbles to walk on underfoot, more with powerful jets to massage shoulders, hot and icy cold, etc. Saunas etc. this was an extra fee and not open every day but well worth returning for. Check in advance which days they close/open the spa...

It was rainy during our stay and the balcony of our room was percussive and rather loud with the rain noise. It might have been a bit quieter but it opened onto an alleyway so traffic noise was distant. WE were allowed park in their nearby undergound car park. Luckily we had hired a really small car, otherwise it would not have been possible for us to manouevre the car from the narrow alleyway into the lift that took the car down into the carpark. But we didn't need the car during our 3 night stay, it was such a good place/location to walk & explore from, so we only needed to do that manouevre once! There was a member of staff who helped us with that on arrival.

The location and staff were superb.

The bedroom was confortable, but there was not much light coming in from the window, not much to be done there, due to narrow streets. The pool area is limited, the views are fascinating. The food in the lounge area was disappointing, we used the bar menu. The meat was dry and not very enjoyable. I can't say what it is, but there seems as if something is missing in the atmosphere, some charm and personality, especially in the lounge area. It all feels very " functional" and despite being a large space with attractive design, it is very impersonal and the vending machines at the entrance are ugly..

Great location. Good value. Friendly helpful staff.

Nothing to dislike but, unless you have a very small car, don't even think about the hotel car park which is accessed down a narrow street via a lift. This isn't a problem though because there is an underground carpark (Interparking Canalejas on Google maps) which is less than 5 minutes walk from the hotel and about the same price.

underground parking is available at the hotel but our Volvo XC90 was too big. However there is a convenient public car park a few minutes from the hotel. If you download the parking app you can get a discount on the daily rate. Download the app when you arrive. Sadly although I tried to get the app I did so as we were leaving, and the verification took so long we were on our way to Seville before I could use the app. Too late for the discount for us

Perfect location, good choice for breakfast. Large room.

Had to ask twice for toilet paper for our room during our week stay. At times during our stay the smell of cigarette smoke enterd our room. Staff were notified but nothing changed. I think the cigarette smoke was coming into the room via air conditioning vents. The Sun Loungers on the terrace near he pool need umbrellas .
