Puerto Valdes

The rooftop was a nice touch to look over the city and see the capitol. Room was spacious and comfortable just like an apartment and it was very clean. It was a last minute booking after an airbnb didn't work out and the staff was very friendly and accomodating. The location is very close to Old San Juan, La Placita, and Condado Beach and the Ubers were really cheap to get to all these places.

They said to let the water run for 5 to 10 min for it to get hot but it really never gets that hot. Maybe room temp at best but we just made do.

only one a/c for entire unite. bedroom wasn’t cool as I personally prefer.

I stayed in the penthouse for 13 days. Booked a smaller room initially but once I saw a penthouse was available I had to have it. It was an excellent choice. Plenty room full kitchen, beautiful white and marble tile everywhere. Hot tub inside the room. Plenty living space. Huge master comfortable bed. All employees housekeeping, front desk and manager remained helpful and pleasant my entire stay. Dropped my car key down the elevator shaft first night manager left his home and came to retrieve for me. I Had technical difficulty with TV front desk came up to trouble shoot till it worked! I was hooked on the roof. I was there daily tanning or in jacuzzi, The breeze and vibe was EVERYTHING.

Low water pressure some mornings I couldn't shower at all. That needs to be addressed.

The staff is very nice, the food and staff at the restaurant were very attentive. The room has a lot of space, is clean and has a full kitchen. I will definitely stay again.

No hot water, it only gets barely warm. They said to let it run about 10 mins and it gets warm.(solar panels) But when it's barely warm... that makes for a very cold shower. Hot tub on roof isn't hot either nor does it work. The mattresses are sort of like futon mattresses, very hard. Our view from the "penthouse" was a container yard with garbage and homeless belongings. The area is not pleasing to the eye.

The location was great and very walkable to Old SJ. Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was more like a suite - very large, fully equipped kitchen, and had a private patio. The rooftop terrace had a hot tub and great views of the city. We'll definitely be back!

The immediate area is in the process of revitalization; until that happens, it feels a bit sketchy, with the vacant lot across the street and views of graffiti. We just closed the blind on that window. Puerto Valdez is brand new and the owner has put a lot of effort in the remodel. It is a forward thinking approach to what will soon change for the better.

This was a nice hotel on the outskirts of Old San Juan. While it is located in a sketchy area, so you wouldn’t want to walk around at night, the interior is lovely. Clearly they invested a lot in renovating the hotel. There is parking, and we left our car there and took very inexpensive Ubers into Old San Juan to avoid parking in the crowded streets there.

We stayed in the ground floor room behind reception. While the room itself was great, if there were people talking in reception, it was noisy at night. Also, once the restaurant opens, it will be more convenient.

Pierrot Valdez is a green hotel . So they tend to switch to a generator from 7pm-7am , which was no problem ! We just cooked earlier than usual. The jacuzzi on the top floor was amazing . Employees are very very attentive and helpful with any problems you may come across. I enjoyed my stay 1000%. I would highly recommend !! It is a 15 minute walk from old San Juan and Escambron beach .

The hotel is new so it’s very hard to get food delivered or lyfts because they couldn’t find the location. It’s also near a lot of abandon tagged up buildings where locals reside. this did not affect our stay though .

We had originally booked to stay at Hotel Puerto Valdes for 1 week but because our move-in date to our rental home kept getting delayed, we extended our stay for an extra 8 days. My communication with the staff was excellent from check in to getting us the linens that we needed, helping us with printing documents and getting food delivered, the staff took very good care of us from the start to when we departed. The rooms are spotless and common areas are well maintained. The rooms are very comfortable with furniture all imported from Italy and beddings were nice and fluffy. Parking is free and there was always parking available even during peak season. The hotel is conveniently located in San Juan, just a 10-15 minute walk to Old Town San Juan. Since this is a fairly new apartment hotel, the laundry area was still not open so we had to send out our laundry. The staff communicated this with me and drop off and pick up were seamless but the laundry service they use is quite pricey for $3 per pound. There are laundromats in the area so I suggest driving to one of these places to do your own laundry. There was a day when Old Town San Juan didn’t have water which also affected the hotel. But we received communication with front desk regarding what was going on. I can’t give this apartment hotel enough praise for their cleanliness, attention to detail and excellent customer service. Everyone from the General Manager, Enrique to front desk staff - Anysha, Fabiola, Alejandro, Jose and the cleaning crew. I loved them all. This place gave us a safe haven during some frustrating times in Puerto Rico and I can’t thank them enough. Rest assured, our family will be coming back to this amazing hotel which treated us like family. Thank you, Hotel Puerto Valdes! Til next time!

This place exceeded our expectations. We loved the decor and customer service we received. Everyone we encounter for our week long stay was warm and pleasant. This couldn't have been a more enjoyable experience for us and I will always recommend this place to anyone looking to stay near San Juan.

Since this was a newly renovated building the appointments weren't all up and running. There was no onsite laundry or cafe kitchen to use since they were still being installed. That didn't stop us from enjoying our stay since it was so new and had they been fully functional we would have never wanted to leave.
