Hotel Black Tulip - Porto Gaia

The rooms were lovely. The staff were awesome especially Rita at reception and another gentleman, can't rememberhis name. Juan the Restaurant staff . Every request was catered for no matter how small. It was an enjoyable wedding anniversary.

I would have rated it 10/10 but my only complaint is the breakfast which was really good and but things like eggs bacon sausage etc were cold even in the food warmer. Had to ask for my food to be reheated. I like my breakfast to be really hot. I think the food warmer wasn't effective.

This hotel is ideally located for a few days in Porto. Situated within about 2/3 minutes walk from the metro, giving good and reliable connections to both the airport and train station. Breakfast was plentiful consisting of both continental and cooked. I can recommend half board and the bar prices are not excessive. All the staff were very helpful and friendly, and will certainly stay there again.

One and only evening we had a buffet evening meal and it wasn't quite as good as previous evenings but still very good but not the excellent quality we had enjoyed previously

Good location and great price are the two main features of this hotel. The building is located next to a tram/metro stop, so you can easily get to the city center. Great and friendly staff, always ready to help. Wonderful breakfast on the highest floor with city view. There is also free underground parking.

This nice hotel needs a little renovation. Because the rooms have everything you need, but often old and worn out. Because of this, the room does not seem cozy. But for a short stay, this is not critical.

The room was very nice, comfortable bed and a nice bathroom. The restaurant was amazing, the view was very nice and the food was incredible... including the breakfast (however, the coffee was too strong and not very tasty). The location was super, 5 min walk from the metro station, and the parking lot was good.

Sadly, the rooms were not soundproof (especially from other rooms). The shower head was not good. And, only order coffee if you like strong coffee with sugar.

The staff were friendly and helpful. They kept my luggage at reception after I checked out. It was a good, comfy, clean hotel. Location wise it is a tiny bit out of the way but not much. The metro stop is very close by, and you just take 1 metro towards the city centre. You're at Sao Bento in 6 stops if I remember well.

Our room was just under the breakfast hall, so there was lots of chairs craping and things moving around before 7am or so, as the staff prepared it for breakfast.

Amazing and helpful stuff! Thank you so much for the receptionist to take long minutes and phone calls for hiring our car and do our programs better and easier. I’m so appreciated!

As a vegan, I wanted to have vegetables for breakfast, and there was no any veggies at all, I was a bit disappointed because of this, otherwise I’m happy with all the rest here! Highly recommended:)

Been back several times and always enjoyed our stay. Located about s 25 minutes from the old port houses but you can take the electric bus to old town steps away from the hotel. a very generous breakfast with views down toward old town

This hotel is very well situated for people who stay in Vila Nova de Gaia. Spacious room, clean toilet and friendly staff.

Parking is a bit limited and breakfast needs an uplift ( cakes were not fresh).

I loved the easy location and transport. The room was nice and the views were great (from the room windows as well as the restaurant). The staff were helpful, polite and humorous.

I wish I could open the window more but I understand its due to health and safety.
