Riviera Hotel

Good space in room and bathroom, quite comfortable beds. Double family room with extra suite well designed and equipped. Good breakfast, good variety of food selection. Friendly personnel at reception, room service and restaurant staff. No issue with getting bed and umbrella at swimpool. Good localization, close to the beach, as well food/restaurant corner. Also very convenient shopping centre next to the hotel, with well equipment supermarket. Rooms equipped with effective air-conditioning. Every evening some thematic food in restaurant. Good location, a little bit away from typical touristic noise. Train station close by, also relatively cheap taxi/bolt transport especially if travelling with group.

Rooms looks a little bit old, used and very clean carpets, bathroom also had sing of age. The impression was rooms/carpets were not vaccum'ed regularly during daily cleaning service. Quality of cosmetics doesn't impress, no hair conditioner in the set. Selection of foot at breakfast could be better, I especially missed some sea food (no fish/salmon/sardines....). Not very strong coffee (but extra ekspresso into cappuccino cup made a job). Swimming pool looks bigger on photos, quite empty till afternoon, then get crowded. Too small for regular swimming practicing. Cold water! And foot court a little bit overpriced....

— Bad wi-fi, turns off all the time; disappeared several times altogether, had to wait for it to be fixed; — Not a very comfortable shower, the the shower head can't be moved; — The carpet could be replaced, it is already tired; — There is a lack of a kettle in the room.

Fabulous selection and variety of breakfast choices. Quick service, got very busy around 9am. Staff friendly and responsive. Availability of Kid’s Activities was welcome surprise. Bruna brought out the best of the kids, they loved the activities and she was available throughout the day, can’t praise her highly enough. The poolside bar staff, supported by exceptional manager Barbara, worked hard to meet the needs of a wide range of visitors. Delicious snack and lunch options. They are let down by poor equipment repeatedly (till & machinery) and a lack of clear signage which would help manage so many different languages and expectations (interpretations eg what you receive when you just ask for coffee, Portuguese coffee is amazing but size significantly differs across nationalities) The evening meal is late for families at 7.30 but there are many local options available. The theme buffet nights were confusing, there are staples available and the food was consistently good but the food theme is not strong enough - there was no tapas, not sure where the latin flavors were .. overall a very good hotel, with a super team of staff. We would recommend and we would return.

There wasn’t anything that we did not like. The access to pool towels was the only frustrating issue.. on our first day we asked for 3 towels as 3/4 of us swam but then the following day we were unable to get a 4th towel for the rest of the stay. It is still unclear what the actual procedure should be.

Excellent location, near the beach and the train station. You have a small shopping centre and supermarket on the ground floor, which is convenient. Our suite was very big. The staff was kind and efficient. The breakfast buffet was good and varied enough. The room-service dinning options were also good and the prices very reasonable. There are also many restaurants nearby. The parking lot is practical and spacious enough.

It starts to show its age a little bit: stained carpets, old furniture... But the prices are low, so you can't ask for everything... A shower would be nice (there's a bathtub and a ceiling shower, but no extended and flexible one). Oh, and the toilet paper is very bad, too thin and of bad quality.

Price and location as we wanted more beach than city.

After a few days the hardness of the beds really got our lower backs and we needed to start each day with about five minutes of back stretches. We haven’t needed to do this at any other place we’re staying at this summer. We recommend, during the next renovation the mattresses/ beds are completely changed for better models. Sheets are comfortable, towels are great!

The rooms are spacious, equipped with air conditioning and refrigerator. Upon arrival we were tapped with a bottle of water from the hotel. Large bathroom with tub not shower. Rich breakfast, with hot food (scrambled eggs, omelet, beans, fried ham, sausage, etc.) and cold (ham, mozzarella, cottage cheese, salami, yogurts, butter, jam, cereals, etc.) as well as traditional desserts. Good wifi. Attached to the hotel is a mini mall, with a supermarket and a food court

Is a little far from the beach. One of the rooms had the balcony next to the way to thepool and could't be used . No privacy at all

My sons phone was left in an Uber, whilst that not your fault. When driver returned it to the hotel with details of owner and room number he was told he couldn’t leave it for us. And was sent away with it!! Still not been able to get any info from Uber and came home without it . Now paying for something I don’t have! All that had to be done was to hold on to it til we came back to the hotel but no!

The location is great. If you have business with NOVA or the NCI Academy, that's one of the best spots you can get. Train station is nearby, travel to Lisbon, Estoril or Cascais is a breeze. The hotel is part of a business complex, if you want to go to the local shopping centre, including a supermarket (a grocery store stocking a few more things), a few restaurants and other shops, you don't even need to go outside. I found the staff very friendly too. I didn't have any issues, just want to mention the genuine smile and openness.

The rooms are dated, you can see the best times are a matter of past. My room was smelly, I don't even know what was that. Being there in January made it possible to keep the balcony door open, so I can't really complain, the smell was gone quite fast.

Excellent location in Carcavelous! 5 minute walk to the train station, 5 minute walk to the beach! Swimming pool and very professional and friendly staff! All spoke fluent English.

Didn’t have tea facilities in the rooms. A coffee machine was available only in the suite. A kettle was made available upon request.

- Room was spacious - Very Clean - Friendly Staff - Supermarket inside the Building - close to the Beach - Few free parkings - the cleaning Team was always very friendly and kind

- Breakfast not much option - No options to choose Bed Type while Booking (we are a couple and got two separate Beds) they did put them together and put one bedsheet on it but there was still a gap - you have to pay for the gym and sauna (for a 4 star Hotel you would expect it to be included)
