Bastion Hotel Maastricht Centrum

Friendly staff clean rooms. But I felt sorry for guy at hotel bar who was very rushed pointed out he's on his own, he got my food order wrong plus a couple sitting next to me. More staff was needed he was serving drinks taking orders deliver food to tables so far too much for him he was very pleasant and not his fault Clearly under staffed this evening . But overall I would and will book again. Just more staff on evening duty.

I asked id I could do a late check out as my coach leaves at 2230pm. They gave me extra hour,but still very long day considering was on a 12 hr journey back to London. I feel more could of been done as rooms were empty my whole stay both sides of me. It would of been appreciated as was a very hot day.o e thing I did hear Whilst waiting to go home was a reception guy on afternoon shift talking to a female colleague saying in English as I thi k she was from Moldova saying French people are arrogant which I heard from the sofa. Now I'm.english but that could and should not be spoken.i was very suprised as English was not his native tongue he was louder than he realised. It was about 6 or 7 pm in evening last Wednesday.

We love this hotel the staff are always lovely & helpful its a five minute walk into the centre with lots of bars & restaurants along the way. The two young men servicing the rooms on the day we arrived were extremely helpful & very polite.

No hotel information in the room - pillows are dreadful very poor quality. I did sent a message when booking for extra pillows but had to ask again after we arrived. We did leave our umbrella on in our room & are trying to get it put into lost property to collect at a later date. Also would prefer a room facing the road.

We stay here at the Bastion every time we come to Maastricht it is very central with secure parking. Marit & Sebastion were lovely.

The front of the hotel is littered with cigarette ends it is not a good look & could easily be rectified with some sort of receptacle to put them in. It is a very simple fix & would make a huge difference to the appearance at the front of the hotel. Also need two pillows & I did request extra pillows but didn’t get them - disappointing!

One night became 14 nights because my husband was involved in an accident and therefore in the hospital. The staff was terrific, empathetic, caring, comforting, and friendly. They felt like family. We are very grateful for their hospitality and care in a very difficult and scary time of our lives. More family joined us and we were all treated excellently. They just brought a little light in a dark period. Thank you so much!

As a motorcycle rider , secure parking was a must! Parking was advertised but after I booked and read a review it said no onsite parking however this isn’t quite true as there is secure underground parking where you obtain a voucher from hotel reception, whilst it’s not really onsite it is a few meters around the side of the hotel, it was an excellent facility.

Nothing, it was all good for me .

Staff was friendly and spoke well English and German, Room was clean and quit and the additional service with the babybed worked fine. Breakfast was sufficient and had a good variety of choices includuing fresh ompletets. The Loation is perfect for walking to the market and downtown of Maastricht.

If you travel by car - make sure you get directions at the reception for the parking garage - it is a short walk away from the Hotel. Nothing negative, just be aware :)

The room was nice and spacious, the breakfast was really great - it's a nice touch to have the staff personally make your eggs just the way you want them, and to also give you the option for pancakes. Feels like a really nice breakfast restaurant. Location is perfect, five minutes walk from the city centre but the hotel itself is still really nice and quiet. The staff were also all nice and helpful. I'd happy stay here again when I return to Maastricht.

The mo action was great ! it was good value for money. The staff were good but not exceptional.

when we entered the room , we discovered a pair of underpants just under the curtain ( from a previous guest) The open vanity bin in the bathroom had not been emptied . There was no bath mat so we had to use a hand towel. We used one of the coffee cups which wasn’t cleaned or replaced the next day.

The room is clean and has enough space, the bed is good and the same goes for the bathroom. The breakfast is great during the weekend with a good number of staff monitoring and supporting all customer needs. Best of all is the hotel location: to the left is the Maastricht city center and to the right is the old industrial area now restored to house great restaurants and a filmhouse. All within 5 minutes walking distance.

After the weekend peak the breakfast seemed to deteriorate a bit. A low number of untrained staff were now ‘taking care’ of business, resulting in less choice in food items and promptness of service… During our four night stay the Wifi / Internet was out of service for a day and a half, pity…. Nonetheless, we would book this hotel again because of its location.

Rooms hadn't been booked together but we managed to get them very close by. Breakfast was very good and filled you up for the day-good choice of foods...rooms were good, air con spot on

not much really--one staff member said we couldn't book a taxi to take my mum to the concert ..she is nearly 80 and had trouble walking so we had to make other arrangements..other than that very helpful
