Fairfield by Marriott Kathmandu

I had initially stayed at another boutique hotel in Kathmandu but opted to switch to this hotel upon my return from a long trek. It turned out to be a fantastic decision. From the moment we entered, the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, assisting us with our trekking bags and offering us drinks. The room, including the shower, was spacious, impeccably clean, and remarkably comfortable. The hotel’s central location provided a peaceful retreat amidst the bustling atmosphere of Kathmandu. We enjoyed both breakfast and dinner at the hotel’s restaurant, Kava Grill, where the food was excellent, and the staff was consistently friendly and accommodating. I wouldn’t hesitate to choose this hotel again if I were to visit Kathmandu in the future.

Very good spread of breakfast. The only minus was that the breakfast timings ended at 1000h in place of 1030 h everywhere. The room sizes are smaller than expected. The staff is very helpful and eager to help.

The bathrooms were very small and also the jet spray for washing the bums were wrongly placed that is they were on the left side of the seat as if were made for left handed persons. Most right handed people take the jet in right hand a nd wash the bum with left hand that was not possible here making the task cumbersome.

Its a Great stay first of all i appreciate the reception teams and other crew members are friendly but these 3 employees are super and moral characters 1) Laxmi 2) Gopal 3) Ishwari ... good works guys ..... next time if our teams visit Nepal and we will book this hotel only also we will recommend our friend and family Fairfield by Marriot only like these experience in my life its first Amazing .... we congratulate all the crew members of Fairfield Marriot... god bless you ....

Excellent customer service, very polite and accommodating staff. kava restaurant chef Deepak is an excellent chef, who went the extra mile to prepare Nepalese food for us to try! The food is of highest quality. We had a really comfortable time and rested very well. Good location too.

Our bathroom door is faulty so the floor gets wet after a shower. We gave feedback to the front desk, and they immediately sent someone up to check even though it was late at night. The problem was not resolved but the extra floor mats provided helped to dry the floor.

The location is very good. The hotel is clean and the staff is extraordinary, they try to help with transportation, food preferences, the chef is personally interested whether you like the food or what you would like to change. The waiters are absolutely amazing, they truly make your stay there very comfortable and something you will remember later on as well. Even the cleaning staff is very friendly and responsible , we had apparently left the digital watch in the room (and we were not aware of it actually) and then after returning in 2 days to the hotel (travelled to another city for several days) they returned it.:) Got to highlight as well that the food prepared was the best we tried in Kathmandu.

The only issue is the breakfast, it could consist of more continental food , having less heavy Asian food in the morning would be more preferable. The gym room is pretty small as well, making it hard to exercise if more than 5 people are there.

Staff in this hotel was one of the best ever: kind, professional and worried about every little detail. The restaurant is amazing, you don’t need to leave the hotel to try wonderful nepali food (they also have other options as well - indian, western etc). Room was very clean. Location could not be better. I would definitely recommend it!

Had an issue with A/C the first night, room was not getting cooler. But the next day they gave me a new room without hesitating. So nothing to complain at the end of the day.

I was here before and because the staff member Dipesh I booked this hotel again this time. Last time he was really helpful to arrange a taxi for a long drive This time I had to take the bus from Kathmandu to Besisahar the next morning. Due the Dashain festival it was really difficult to get a bus ticket. The front desk employee Dipesh was there again:-). Together with his colleague trainee he put a lot of effort to get me on that bus. They make me feel that nothing was to much for them. That's why I book this hotel everytime when I stay in Kathmandu. I hope the hotel will take really care of employees like Dipesh. People like him makes the difference 🥇.

There is really nothing to complain about.

Everyone was very friendly and efficient. Location - near airport and quite central. Good light.

View of the rooftop of the building nextdoor could see here laundry being done and a woman washing her hair. This view is not a dealbreaker. Keep the blinds closed otherwise look to the horizon for the city view. Please add waffles as an option to breakfast buffet.

Great customer service - Dipesh and Sarita from reception were great and extremely responsive about everything. The other receptionists and restaurant staff were also all outstanding. Great location - it is in Thamel but near the garden of dreams. This makes it a more quiet place but just a couple minutes' walk from the total chaos that is Thamel. Good food - and generally safe on the stomach. Hot showers any time, highly clean environment - if you've stayed anywhere else in Thamel you'll know that this is not really a given. Stable internet

The fitness center is kind of tiny and feels like it's just there to tick off the "we have a fitness center" box. At least add an adjustable bench and maybe a bench to do some ab crunches.

Breakfast was great, lots of choices. Had dinner at the Japanese restaurant KKSJ, which was great. The director Kyohei is doing a lot of work to help women and orphaned children of Nepal👍

The travel agent they were contacting to help with my travels and sight seeing was not great with last minute cancellations. They should use a better one!
