"5TH AVE Caribbean Paradise Boutique Hotel "by BFH"

We had a nice stay over New Years Eve. Location is great for anyone looking to bar hop, shop, or people watch on 5th ave. The front staff was very nice and the parking lot was secure. Cute coffee shop downstairs was perfect for breakfast and beds were super comfortable! We were given a hotel on the 2nd floor which opened up to the pool which was nice. I've ready many reviews about the noise from restaurants/bars downstairs, but it didn't bother us at all.

My only complaints are.. We never had hand soap in the bathroom, the water never got hot, and the bathrooms were very echo-y. Must be comfortable with the person you are traveling with to stay here :)

Bed was super comfy. Staff were friendly and did a great job making sure our room was clean. the room itself was really nice. I saw lots of people complaining about the noise on the reviews but to say it was in the heart of playa del Carmen, it was fine. if you’re going on vacation to sleep at 10pm, don’t stay in a hotel in the heart of plata del Carmen! Also, sometimes the washroom did smell but a lot of playa del Carmen is like that, so it’s not the hotels fault, and it wasn’t all that bad.

Tip: if your AC unit isn’t working very well, take the filters out and clean them - we did that and it worked like a gem. That, and the shower could do with some maintenance. the shower head was so scaled up that half of the water was spraying in other directions.

the property was very close to the main strip and very accessible if you’re out enjoying your day. It’s far enough from the louder portions of the strip and easy to stray from the noise if needed.

two things I can think about not liking are two small details because one may not be within the hotels control… which is outside noise well into the evening. The other is the noise from the room adjacent ours. I heard a sneeze, I replied ‘bless you’ thinking it was my wife in the bathroom. In actuality it was the neighbour in the next room. we both laughed, but the wall is rather thin.

Mary was the lady who checked me in. she is so kind and helpful. I told her my birthday was coming up and she prepared balloons and a kinder treat on my bed for my special day. all the staff was helpful and nice. the location was AMAZING. I will have to say there is a strong sewer smell coming out of the bathroom, however you get used to it after a while and it’s not so bad considering the price and location. Mary really made my trip welcoming and she was helpful in booking a massage in the spa at the hotel. would definitely stay here again!

We like the view from the room on the 5th ave, the jacuzzi was nice. The staff speak English and the price includes breakfast in the restaurant in the lobby floor. There where loud music from the bars below but we know it would be like this and we like it this way

We had an rental car and all streets got paid parking. Unfortunately the hotels parking is also for additional price so I had to pay. The guy in the parking entrance doesn't speak English so it took some time to let us in. Also the elevator was out of order that day so i had to go upstairs two floors with heavy suitcase

I love how it’s close to everything. I love how the aesthetics of the facility. I love the bathroom how the stones on the flooring massages my foot. I love the spa, they were amazing. I love our pillows so soft. I love the breakfast area with live band.

just the towels would be great to have beach towel available and change them daily. and have the housekeeping clean the floor because we come from tours and it’s Sandy sometimes. but overall it was great. and the elevator 😅

Location, location, location!! The property is ideally located on 5th Ave which made it extremely convenient to go out and around Playa without needing a car or taxi. The rooms are small but comfortable and beautifully decorated. The check in Lady from Italy (Mary) was extremely helpful and friendly! She really went out of her way with every request we had (hairdryer, iron, extra towels) so thank you for that.

- The breakfast was not great. - Wearing a paper bracelet throughout the stay for access was not ideal especially if you stay a couple of days. - The soap and shampoo amenities were not filled. - The name ‘with parking’ suggests that there is free parking but in the fine print you need to pay an additional amount of $18 per day. - The elevator does not work at the moment so carrying luggage up stairs is not ideal.

The staff were absolutely amazing Didi and Mery were phenomenal! There was also another gentleman with tattoos (can't remember his name) who was also really kind and professional. The room was clean and despite being directly over a main club and on the strip was relatively quiet with both balconies closed!

I loved my entire experience.

The place is nice and location is perfect. The staff also made our stay exceed all expectations, Diana was very attentive, Meri was very kind and knowledgeable, Oscar has a contagious smile and welcoming vibe he should work front desk, and Sergio was very professional and courteous. Also place was clean. They have a bar next door (bar Loco) awesome prices and very fun and loud but somehow the noise did not get to out room.

I wish I could have stayed there longer. I forgot to tip the staff

Property was ok , and scary me and my husband got stacks in the elevator, that was the most scary stressful thing ever, i never experienced a day like that , i hope there fix it. That the reason I will never stay in the hotel anymore, there won’t see me anymore. Till now I’m still thinking about it , I’m afraid to get in any elevator .
