Hotel Leon

I loved the art deco 1950s of the whole hotel. In fact the hotel was built in 1948 and still has the original elevator and rooms. I loved the restaurant. Very good food at a very reasonable price. Excellent service! Excellent location ... it is in fact at the corner with the main plaza and in the middle of the pedestrian area. We didn't even need the car to see the whole center of Leon.. It is less than 10 minutes walking distant from the Cathedral and the arc of Leon. I Think Leon is also a very nice city to visit and to experience.

Some rooms need TLC work and the bathrooms could be restored always keeping the same style. The hotel is old but with a nice charming personality. I liked the atmosphere but I think it could benefit from a restoration.

Ample room, old hotel with little modern amenities, but lots of character. Conveniently located in the Downtown area. Amazing breakfast, the vintage elevator is simply gorgeous. Staff was incredibly friendly.

The single elevator is beautiful, yes, but it has an operator and sometimes it takes a long time to get service on busy days. A loose cable hanging from the roof was being moved by the wind and created a horrible banging noise against the hotel's facade, and we had to call the front desk late at night since we couldn't fall asleep. Some areas are in dire need of renovation.

The rooms were very large and the bathrooms of an adequate size. The hotel is located just one minute's walk from the central plaza and great value considering the size of the rooms and good service. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

The rooms are very run down and the carpets covered in stains..The air conditioning is totally inadequate and barely manages to cool the room by more than a couple of degrees. We had four rooms during our very long stay and all had hairs and dirt in the bathrooms when we moved into them. Once we pointed it out the maids cleaned the bathrooms properly but we shouldn't need to ask. The beds were very hard but we got used to them. The hotel is being refurbished so anyone booking in a few months should find the rooms much improved.

The exterior of the Hotel is deceiving for the charming interior. This is an old hotel that is well maintained, clean, in excellent condition with spacious comfortable rooms and superior - attentive, professional and friendly staff. The elevator is the old style with a Elevator person who will operate the elevator ….. Charming. Personally, I like hotels with history and soul verses a ‘modern’ hotel which is very shiny yet has no depth of character. The restaurant has excellent food with a serving Staff which is jolly on the job.

The parking is somewhat difficult to find - I suggest contacting the Hotel for directions to their free secure parking…on the Hotel grounds …. The Hotel is located 1/2 block from the Jardin which is pedestrian only….so, the parking is around the corner via one way calles…..

The facade of the building needs painting....upkeep. Yet, once in the front door.... WHAM! A splendidly maintained hotel....The Staff, well trained... courteous, attentive, professional and welcoming. The room I had was .... fit for a King.... clean, an abundance of electrical plug outlets, hot shower, secure..... The Elevator :-).... And Elevator attendant.... Magical.... The restaurante, superb with the Staff... attentive...food well presented and perfect..... I highly recommend..... AND... the hotel is 1/2 block from the Jardin....

If you reserve at this hotel and will be driving.... before you arrive... ask for directions to the Parking ...... while plentiful it is not next to the Hotel.... one must circle the block.. located to the side and behind the hotel.....

We are very pleased and happily surprised. The elevator bell boys are a key asset for the hotel, they are gentle, kind, even funny! All staff members were outstandingly gentle and helpful. We got a great room with a view of the main garden of the city! Just wonderful! I loved the smell and cleanliness of the room, even the soap and shampoo gave us an unexpected nourishing experience. The restaurant offers homemade bread that we rated 100% delicious! We enjoyed every bite of the food! The art nouveau style is a pleasure to the senses. Simply enjoyable! We are beyond thankful for this experience and we highly recommend it ;)

We were not exactly happy about the beds, since they were not very comfy. I believe the facade is not a good advertisement. It looks abandoned. The hotel is so beautiful once you are inside, but I must admit that outside doesn't seem to be very inviting.

location is excellent great to have a restaurant on site outstanding staff all the way around

wasn’t aware I did not have A/C included in my room steps inside the room no handicap facilities : high toilets, no steps , bathroom bars for toilet and shower

Breakfast is not included in the room rental but the restaurant on the first floor is very reasonably priced. I paid 160 pesos/ 9 dollars for a chilaquile breakfast that included croissants and coffee. It's was delicious and the room was very comfortable

I didn't like how the hotel is located on a footpath so your taxi drops you off on the nearest cross street. It's not a big deal but If you have a lot of luggage it can be an inconvenience

I DIDN'T EAT THERE.I REALLY LIKE THE KINDNESS OF THE ELEVATOR GUY AND THE FRONT DESK PERSONAL.

I WAS DISSAPOINTED. BECAUSE FOR SURE I LEFT MY DENTURES GUARD (I PAID 10,000. PESOS ). ON THEM AND. WHEN I CALLED ASKING ABOUT THE ITEM THEY SAID THEY DIDN'T FIND THEM,THOSE WHERE. SO IMPORTANT TO ME

the property is close to everything. you Can walk to restaurants and bars. Also tamales are 3 mins away, yay!

the carpet looks really dirty.
