Fantastic hotel and friendly staff that go out of their way to accommodate your requests. Brilliant location too. Breakfast very fresh and of high quality. Definitely recommend and return without doubt

Firmer pillows would be better as a personal choice. Taxi driver found it hard to get to, but one phone call to the concierge sorted it out straight away. Have to park close by and walk through the pedestrian area as cars are not accessible.

This an oasis of calm in a busy, downtown area. The reception staff are outstanding. They are led by an excellent hotel manager and all are friendly and informative and go out of their way to help you. In fact, each one of them is more like a concierge than a receptionist. Any requests are dealt with instantly and effectively. They could not possibly do any more or any better. The inner courtyard with the retracting glass roof is beautiful, as is the drawing room on the first floor. The rooftop terrace is great too, although unusable in a heat wave! Very effective and quiet air conditioning though inside. We appreciated the upgrade from a twin room to a duplex suite and the complimentary Prosecco whilst checking in too.

We didn't love the breakfast, to be honest. It was nice to have à la carte choices and the food looked fine but it didn't all taste as good as I might have expected, compared to the last three boutique hotels I have stayed in. This may have been the quality of the ingredients?

I rarely write reviews but wanted to share what a truly great experience we had at Domus Zamittello. I can’t fault this hotel, it’s honestly perfect. A super-convenient location in the heart of Valletta that’s only a 4-5 minute walk to all the main sights, shops and restaurants. Its hygiene and style are impeccable with fantastic attention to detail. The breakfast choice is great and all dishes every morning were so well-cooked and presented. The rooftop terrace is a sun-trap and a welcome quiet haven when you need some peace and quiet. But most of all, it’s the staff at the hotel that made our stay so perfect. They all go out of their way to make you feel so welcome and nothing is too much trouble. Special mention to the team on reception but especially to the Colombian guy (Augustine? I should’ve checked his name) who was a delight and also to the waiting staff at breakfast who were so efficient and smiley each morning. They all make an amazing team and should be very proud of how they make their guests feel. The hotel does cost a bit more than some others but it’s definitely worth it. We would recommend for sure and will stay here again if we return to Malta.

I rarely do reviews but am really happy to complete this one (sometime after the event due to circumstances). The hotel really can't be better situated being right on the main street in Valetta. The hotel is beautifully and tastefully decorated and the room very comfortable except for 1 small thing (see below). However, I cannot praise the staff highly enough. Everyone we encountered from check-in, staff in the restaurant, to just asking questions at reception was charming, helpful and seemed really happy to be of assistance unlike many staff I have encountered even in top hotels. A special word must also be added for the restaurant; it has been a long time since I enjoyed breakfast as much. The service is totally table service (no getting up and collecting your glass of juice), the menu is varied and high quality and even included the option of a glass of prosecco. The staff in the restaurant made you feel as though nothing was too much trouble. This trip included my birthday which was recognised with some chocolates and a card and I really couldn't have expected anything more than the service we received. Well done and thank you.

No complaints but 2 observations 1) it would really help to have a light in the area in front of the wardrobe, I did find it a bit dark there. 2) It was leading up to Christmas when we stayed and there were regular street musicians performing just up the street. They always finished by 10pm and it didn't bother us but it may bother some people.

not possible to get much fresh air into the room

This was one of the best stays I ever had. Everything was perfect. Hotel is located very central. It is newly renovated and they thought of everything to make your stay pleasant. It was my birthday weekend and the staff congratulated me and had a little courtesy waiting in the room. We booked a room with king size bed which was on the 3rd floor facing the inner courtyard, which was very quiet. Room is clean, bed is very comfortable with a lot of pillows and a nice bedding which keeps warm (January). We liked the breakfast style. No buffet. You order from the card, i.e. no food waste and it is fresh. The staff is very helpful, flexible and attentive in order to make your day and your stay in Malta very comfortable. For us it is a no-brainer where we are staying at our next visit.

Just to keep in mind when choosing a room facing the inner court that you don't get "fresh air". The roof will be opened (mainly in the morning) but not during the night, for that you need to use the air condition. This was absolutely fine for us but a lot of people are not fond of air-conditioning

Beautiful hotel, perfect location, and out of this world service. Suites were roomy and beds very comfortable. Bathrooms spacious by European standards. A/c didn’t work in one room and they gave us a partial refund for the night and complementary breakfast. No argument and easy to work with hotel staff and manager on the issue!!! Turn down service, legit room cleaning daily, and attention to so many details! Would advise anyone staying in Valletta to stay here!

Towels and linens could be a little nicer and would launch the place to five stars easily. There was nothing wrong with them but that would be my only constructive advice. Would put it on par with any Four Seasons I’ve been to!

Great Location, beautiful view from room, big& clean room and bathroom, very nicely decorated with old style furniture, modern bathroom with both shower and tub, plenty of storage space in room and nice vanity, beautiful terrace of the hotel, very kind and attentive staff, tasty breackfast. The housekeeping done both in the morning and in the afternoon was a very nice touch, especially the detail of closing the curtains in the afternoon so the guest is not seen from the street when returning to the room after dark. Complimentary bottle of water every day.

There were minor elements I did not like, those didn’t change the excelent quality of my stay at this hotel: The wc’s flush button was covered by the lid, so everytime u flushed u had to close the lid. The exit sign had a blue light that remained always lit.For me this was not a problem, since I don’t need total darkness to sleep well.

We enjoyed our stay enormously. The entire warm and accommodating staff made us feel like houseguests, not clients. We found out why: the welcoming attitude starts at the top. Because the manager was away, the owner was overseeing the operation of the hotel. He sets the gracious and welcoming tone that carries through the whole operation. We enjoyed several informative conversations with him. The building is of historical interest and was the owner's family's townhouse for eight generations. It is elegant, comfortable and well located. The restaurant is of high quality. We hope to return.

The hotel is outstanding - Everything is beautiful : beautiful room and bathroom - Fantastic terrasse overlooking the opera - Super convenient location - The lady at the reception was exceptionnally nice - she offered us a glass of Proseco as I mentioned it was my husband birthday and later they send someone to the room with a birthday card signed by all the staff and a small box of chocolate! It was really sweet.

We could have skipped the breakfast there - it is on demand but the breakfast staff is not attentive and it ruined our experience: it took quite a while to get our order -there was some mistakes, some of our order never came - it's good but not up to the standard of the place.
