Relais Le Chevalier

Ideal location between Old and New Riga, close to park, Central Market, Railway station. Surrounded with plenty of restaurants, bar and stores. Exceptional breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff. Exclusive interior. Very clean.

Not enough storage in the room. Not very big closet is 1/3 occupied with refrigerator (heats up inside the closet) and tea set . Electrical sockets placed under the table - not easy for elderly couple to get it. Insite services are not coordinated - two days out of 5 there were only cold water in the shower and drain blockage. Air conditioner is not really effective. We felt deficiency of fresh air.

The room and the location were just perfect. Very spacious room and bathroom, maybe a little too many lights standing on the desks. But apart form that very comfortable. Also the location of the hotel was very convenient, right in the heart of the old town. I really loved the breakfast, especially the choices and the coffee, hot chocolate. It was delicious. The service of the reception was outstanding, very helpful and Friendly staff.

Breakfast with a view in the hotel which was offered for 25 euro was just ridicilous. The view was just on one wall of the room and also not beside any table, one has to stand up to see the view. We booked breakfast not because of the view, we actually didn't know about it. But for people from outside who come for a breakfast with a view, that's just inappropriate. Also staff at the breakfast could be friendlier, one girl always looked impatient when serving the guests.

The hotel was classy and rooms were lovely. They had everything you could think of, hairdryer, robes, slippers, water, a safe, a fridge, sewing kit and toiletries. The breakfast too was very impressive. A full cold spread including meats, cheeses and salmon. Lots of types of bread, juice, boiled eggs, salad and homemade cakes & pastries. Then there’s the menu of hot food, eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, potato pancake and probably lots I’ve missed out. A lovely well run hotel.

If I had to be picky there could be more fresh fruit at breakfast and the shower ran cold sometimes in the morning when there was lots of activity

I love all things French, so was very pleased with the decor and the focus on France. My room was like a French boudoir! Bathroom was large enough, room had a wonderful chair for relaxing, a desk for working and lots of lamps. Breakfast was very enjoyable and the service first rate.

The front desk staff was not very friendly. Perhaps it is the language barrier since I don't speak the Latvian language - but very few smiles and very little personality. The hotel is so lovely - the first impression from the staff that greets you should be more enthusiastic.

Great hotel, in Old Town so some street noise for our daughter who had a street side room but hotel quiet and beautifully appointed. Breakfast good also and location excellent.

Was charged 30 euro for a Cognac, this was challenged and possibly something was lost in translation at the point of order. I raised this on departure to the receptionist and she did note I could have been offered an alternative option rather than one of the most expensive Cognac. Note to self, ask about the price at point of order.

Amazing location in the Old Town, but also close to the Moscow District. Fabulous breakfast. Comfy bed. Very clean throughout. Very quiet. Polite staff.

Air con seemed to do its own thing, but because it was quite cold outside, the temperature in the room was just right. No window in the room. Staff are v polite, but some of the hotel rules seem petty eg you can go to your room and bring your coffee pod to use it in the machine by the reception, but if you use an identical one already there you’ll get charged 3 euros…?!

Breakfast had loads of options for an allergic person as well. The only thing I personally didn't really like was the salmon, tasted like it wasn't very fresh. My travel companion really enjoyed the pancakes, and the porridge was also nice. The bed was nice to sleep in and the room was well equipped, although the lack of window in the room was a surprise to us, but it didn't really make our stay unpleasant. The staff was helpful and nice and they accommodated to our needs. The interior design of the hotel was also calming and sophisticated.

Beautifully done rooms, well equipped & fantastic location. All old town attractions are within walking distance.

The housekeeping service. I stayed for 3 nights and everyday I put the clean my room sign on my door. However, they only emptied the trash cans. They didn't tidy up the bed or room. In fact, my coffee cup with left over coffee was left as it is. I expected them to replace it with a fresh cup. Similarly, the wine glasses which I had used the previous day were neither washed nor replaced.

Perfect hotel for Riga: Location, cleanliness, friendliness of the staff, fabulous breakfast, the interior of the hotel, room interior, and so on. Really cannot complain about anything. They were helpful enough to guard our luggage even after 12h check-out time because our plane was departing at 18h and we were able to explore the town a little bit more that day. Very kind personnel.

I should have booked a room with a window in it. Nevertheless, our room was really cozy. The only thing was the temperature. Our room had one central AC, which was blowing hot air constantly in. So in order to equalize high room temp (26,6 °C at the moment) you have to put local AC on 19°C degrees to blow cold air in.

I was staying in Riga for one night and decided to book Relais Le Chevalier since it was centrally located. It was an excellent decision. There was also a last minute discount so the overall deal was fantastic. The hotel is located on one of the main squares in old town Riga (next to the main steakhouse). The interior of the hotel is really fun, there is a huge lobby area with a glass elevator. The rooms are clean, everything is well maintained. Strong wifi if you need it for work. The receptionists are first class. Especially the cutie from Jelgava! Wish her all the best! Feel free to ask them about local restaurants and places to go to if you are new to Riga. Will definitely stay there again. View from the breakfast area is awesome!

Not much you can complain about for this price. You get an excellent room and service. The only negative I could find is that my room had no windows... It can be awkward for some people, so maybe not the best room to stay in for longer. Other than that, I didn't get extra pancakes for breakfast. It broke my heart </3... :( But overall, 10/10.
