When is the Best Time of Year to Visit the Dallas Arboretum?

Well, it depends, is probably the best answer. If you’re in the Dallas area at a specific time without the option of adjusting your dates, then whenever you are in town is the best time to visit. And be sure that you do as the Arboretum is beautiful all year round.

Should you have flexibility with your travel dates or want to see something in particular at the Arboretum, say Dallas Blooms (detailed above), then March to May is when you will want to be here. For comfortable weather and robust fall colors, September and October are the ideal months for a visit.

Summer is frequently the time that families can get away for some quality time together, and, while North Texas is known for exceedingly hot and humid weather particularly in July and August, a visit to the Arboretum early in the morning is the best way to avoid the heat and crowds. If possible, we also recommend visiting on a weekday rather than weekend for a more relaxing stroll through the grounds.

The Best Places to Stay When Visiting Dallas

If you’ve been to Dallas and the D/FW Metroplex area before, you already know that this area is geographically widespread, and that is an understatement. Downtown to downtown, Dallas to Ft. Worth, is 32 miles, and can take half an hour or three times that during rush hour or inclement weather. Dallas to Arlington where the NFL Cowboys and baseball’s Texas Rangers play their home games is 20 miles, so still has the potential for a lengthy drive time. DFW International Airport and North Dallas beyond the Johnson Freeway (635) aren’t much better, so where you choose to stay may just be crucial to maintaining your sanity while driving around town.

The primary purpose of your visit should be how you decide what area suits your plan the best. But wherever you decide to spend the night will still give you at least a couple hundred hotel properties to consider. This difficult process will be much easier if you make use of the Travelated.com hotel booking site, which we heartily recommend. With scores of hotels in all price categories, Travelated will surely offer the property that you desire at an extremely attractive price.

If you expect to spend a majority of your time in Dallas, we suggest looking at hotels downtown, or along the North Dallas Tollway (DNT). If you prefer a more suburban setting, you can expand the search to the area close to the Galleria which is just 11 miles north of downtown. There are also plenty of hotel options along the Johnson Freeway (635) in both directions from the DNT.

If you are planning to attend a football or baseball game or perhaps spend time at Six Flags Amusement/Theme Park, all of which are in Arlington, search the multitude of Arlington, Texas properties on Travelated.
