Really friendly and helpful staff A/C in the room (essential) Nice quiet location with only a little walk to the main tourist spots (St Marks square, La Rialto bridge etc..) Not very many rooms at the hotel Nice and quiet Clean

Needed a little bit of work on the outside of the building (but then again so did most of the buildings in Venice) Little bit of maintenance work needed on the main stairwell Small but adequate selection/choice at breakfast (don’t go expecting too much) Was not told that there would be a City tax to pay at the end of the stay. It’s not a huge amount but it would have been nice to know in advance:(The authorities of Rome apply a city tax on all hotels which is charged and collected by your hotel. The tax requires a contribution of 4.00 Euros per person per night for 2 and 3 star hotels, 6.00 Euros per person per night for 4 star hotels and 7.00 Euros per person per night for 5 star hotels)

Room: The room was nice and fresh. The AC worked well, a life saver during summer. Breakfast: The food that was offered was good, but the alternatives were not many. Nice breakfast area. Staff: The staff was great, very kind and helpful in every possible way. Location: Good, between the train station and the biggest tourist attractions.

Room: The only downside was perhaps the bathroom that was not newly renovated as the rest of the room. The showering cabin was old, like the rest of the bathroom. Some wall tiles were missing. Breakfast: The alternatives were few. You ended up eating the same rather simple breakfast every day which would not justify the price you had to pay for the breakfast (especially not if you compare with other hotels). The breakfast area was quite small. The above mentioned problems are easily fixable if you take the price we had to pay for our stay into account.

The room was exceptional, spacious and luxurious. Great bathroom with a tub and the location ideal. Within a two minute walk to shops and restaurants yet not in the crazy thick of things around St. Mark's. The breakfast each morning was lovely and the cafe americano's, superb. The staff was lovely, especially Allesandro who came to our rescue on so many occassions. Even the morning we left, there were to-go breakfasts waiting for us in the lobby because we had such an early start. Tremendous! Going back for a few more days and can't wait to stay there again.

Swift communication with the staff. A quiet, grand hotel with many beautiful little details; soul satisfied.

One of the nights that we went out, we got back to the hotel at around 2 am, tired and ready to sleep. The hotel was locked and neither the doors nor the phone were answering (reception's open 24/7). We waited a good half an hour sitting outside until one of the staff members finally noticed us, saying there is a door bell on the side. Now, a littlest door bell on an old building is not quite so distinguishable in the deep of the night, when it sits beside such particular doors. Just a heads up for anyone who will need a door bell when 24/7 reception phone isn't coming through- it's on the right

I have no words to describe this place! It feels like a dream being there, honestly the reality is much better than the photos, you can smell the history, I have spent a lot of time just looking at the ceiling and the walls. It’s an incredible place!!! I will keep those memories in my heart for ever. Thanks a lot for everyone one there to give people this opportunity. Finally I would like to say it’s the first time in my life where I find the hotel is more beautiful than the destination.

I can’t even complain about anything, I know that there are so many hotels in Venice and Italy, but this is not a hotel! It’s like being in a castle or a museum. Simply it’s an another level for living.

Fantastic hotel and staff. I booked this trip with my wife for her birthday. From my first contact with the hotel reception staff they could not have been more helpful. All staff in this hotel were wonderful, pleasant and extremely helpful. The hotel itself is so clean, classic venetian style and has a wonderful location from the airport and also to all main attractions. Beautiful restaurants nearby with cafes and locations for a nice walk with your loved one. We will definitely be repeat customers. This hotel is somewhat expensive but definitely worth the money and serious consideration for your next stay in Venice.

The hotel arranged direct pick up from the airport (170 Euro, but just a water taxi would be 130, so this wasnt bad) that included a pickup with my name or a board, a short van ride to our water taxi. The water taxi brought us to the front steps in the Hotel. The hotel was very responsive to questions entered as messages on the booking.com portal. Everyone was very pleasant, helpful and spoke English (my italian is limited). The hotel is in the Carnareggio (northern) district, but close to bridges to the other districts. The hotel staff offered maps and suggestions for places to eat and things to see. Breakfast is included in the room rate. They have 3 "seatings" to keep it for being too busy. We tended towards the early (7:15) seating to get our cappuccino and grab some snacks before heading out for the day. We would leave around 8 am (you leave the keys with the front desk), walk around the city, come back during the hottest point of the day, then go out again later. The Junior suite was very large. King size bed, huge tub, standing shower, TV (which we didn't use). Incredibly tall ceilings, and views of one of the smaller canals helped to round out the room

Nothing, we very much enjoyed our stay.

Fantastic hotel in a great location. From check in to check out everything was perfect! The staff were super helpful, friendly and tentative. Check in service was clear with useful information, with an offer to help carry bags. We were amazed at the size and luxury of the room. We truly did feel like royalty. The staff went above and beyond in every way from the reception staff, breakfast staff to cleaning staff to make sure our needs were met. We were given a map of the first morning and advised on a great route to see all the sights, the next day we were advised on getting a taxi rather than a Gondola - highlight of the trip and we are so thankful for the recommendations. We were so happy that we stayed at Ca Vendramin Zago and the hotel really enhanced our whole experience of Venice. The hotel was quiet, clean and had everything that we could have needed. We got robes, slippers, air con, TV, option to iron, toiletries, hair dryer, mini bar, safe, multiple mirrors, shower and a bath! 100% would recommend staying here, especially in the suites. Thanks a lot for a perfect stay.

WiFi was a bit hit and miss but the hotel staff fixed it for us! Our room wasn’t cleaned one day, but they soon sorted it out. A lot of cracks in the floors and walls, but I think that is expected in Venice in such an historic building?
