The staff are exceptionally welcoming and attentive, and the entire place feels elegant and thoughtfully designed. The location is unbeatable, right in the heart of town, with almost everything within a 10-minute walk.

The shower seal strip tended to come loose, so the bathroom floor sometimes got a little wet and the door didn’t close completely. Breakfast was very good, everything tasted fresh and delicious. A few savoury extras like tomatoes or avocado would have been nice, though with the number of guests it’s understandable that offering more could also lead to more waste.

Fantastic, tasty breakfast with good menu variety. Appreciated the quiet room as requested. Decor in the room was lovely. The bed was extremely comfortable. The location was easy walk to train station and very close to central area. Most importantly it was very central to all the UNESCO world heritage sites we came to see. Staff were happy, cooperative, helpful, super friendly, showed initiative and made us feel very welcome.

Almost nothing. Couldn't figure out how to use the room heater, but ended up not needing it, and I'm sure the staff would have helped if really needed.

Located a short 10 min walk from the train station and right beside the historic center of Ravenna, we could not have chosen a better place to spend four nights in this beautiful city in May 2025. Spacious, elegantly renovated/decorated, beautiful bathroom and endless storage allowed us to unpack and relax. Breakfast is the highlight of each day with many offerings all prepared in house. The welcoming nature of Margherita at any hour was infections and put a spring in our step to start the day. Easily could have used a day or two more here to relax at Casa Gugu and explore the seafront areas of Ravenna. Highly recommended!

There is no elevator to go up the few flights of stairs if that is an issue for some. Just information but for us, not a problem.

It was fabulous!!!!! with no elevator and I was on a walker, the entire staff went unusualluy out of tj\heir way to make us comfortable. Time gave up his beautfil library suite so Connie and I could have more space, and he had the smaller room next door. Very nice of him. The entire staff was just wonderful and courteous, and the breakfast was very delicious. We will def, recommenda your beautiful place to others. Thanks for your hospitality!

Beautiful interesting historic house, restored to a very high standard. All fixtures were highest quality and decor was excellent. Our suite was enormous and so comfortable! Although right in the heart of the city it was quiet and peaceful. The breakfast was really good with lots of choice. Staff were friendly and helpful

Nothing really. There was a glitch in us receiving information to access the property and our room but that was quite quickly addressed and seems perhaps to have been an issue with the booking agent’s system

This is a charming hotel in the center, walking distance from pretty much of every important sites of Ravenna. The room and bathroom were also very charmingly decorated, spacious, comfortable, clean. The common areas were lovely as well. The breakfast was beautifully presented and actually the best during our two weeks visit in Italy. We consumed this most memorable breakfast in the pretty courtyard. The staff were very welcoming and accommodating. Lastly the parking was just around the corner, patrolled by a really cute dachshund too. ( there were humans as well).

Great location, close to the centre. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. The bathroom had a great shower. Staff were helpful and breakfast had plenty of good options as well as freshly prepared coffees.

No lift to take luggage up to second floor and our room facing the main street and on the second floor was warm. Also a little noisy if the window was open during the night. There was a fan but no air conditioning.

We loved everything about this place, it was perfect. It was the most comfortable and cozy place we stayed in during our visit in Italy. There was so much attention for details, from the design to every functional element in the room. The room and the bathroom were big and looked even better than the pictures, the bed was so comfortable that we felt bad we only stayed 2 nights. The staff was super friendly and we even met the owner who told us more about how they restored the old palazzo that hosts Casa Gugu today. The breakfast was delightful and the location is a walking distance from every attraction in Ravenna.

Margherita, the manager, was outstanding! All of our questions were answered prior to our arrival and we were blown away by the attention to detail and friendliness once we arrived. The accommodations were authentic yet quite modern and spacious. A perfect blend. The chef, Katiuscia prepared the most delicious cappuccinos and breakfasts! There was a wide selection of delectable breakfast choices. The central location was the cherry on top! We are planning on a return visit!

Our suite and overall stay exceeded our expectations in every way: VERY comfortable beds; minimal street noise; super-clean spacious rooms; housekeeping staff did a superb job; breakfast was well presented and all the food was fresh and delicious. Communicating (in-person and electronically) with the staff was easy and the staff replied promptly. The location was an easy walk from the train station and centrally located for going anywhere in Ravenna. Marguerite is an excellent hostess and a joy to chat with.
