Hotel San Marco

Location was fantastic hotel was clean. The old man doing the sun beds a gent and his little dog living the best life. Staff in beach bar all very nice. Coffee in beach bar top coffee.

One or two of the staff were not very nice others were very helpful. One woman on reception was like she was having a bad day even day. Hotel sun beds on beach bit of a scam 20 euro for 2 and an umbrella no deals for staying at hotel in all the money you are giving them we did ask. Nowhere to lock up your cases on day you are leaving they are left beside reception desk or nowhere to have a wash before you leave for airport i asked and was told to use outside shower at pool and not to use shampoo. 3 nights we had no hot water to shower i was told I was only person to say this.

The breakfast was very tasty but the same things were served every day. More variety of served food will be nice. The room was nice above the swimming pool. it was nice to sit there in the evening or the morning with coffee. The room was equipped with a small kitchen. that was very helpful.

more variety of served food for breakfast will be great. We emailed the reception in advance that we needed to check in earlier than it was on booking.com. We got a response that there would be no problem without any additional charge but unfortunately, we had to wait about 2 hours for the room.

Very relaxed. Staff very friendly and helpful . People on the desk very professional and helpful. Breakfast provided multiple choices. Location perfect, beach across the road with sun beds cheap to rent for the day. Most relaxed holiday I have had and will definitely go back.

They have a beautiful piano in the lobby and there was no one playing this. Being a singer myself I would have loved to have heard some music. There was no music playing at all in the hotel bar and I felt that this would have been a lovely thing to have as you can meet other guests and other people staying in Alghero who would visit the hotel bar.

Room Very Clean Comfortable Spacious Excellent friendly staff

Just some black soot from a boiler/generator on the hotel roof that made the balcony floor a little black on a couple of occasions. Breakfast food should be covered to protect from flies. This was a pity in such a clean hotel. This would make a huge difference to breakfast quality. Warm breakfast bacon/egg wasn't very good, bacon very fatty, scrambled egg not very fresh looking and frankfurters instead of pork sausages.

The location is excellent, very close to the old town just across the road from the beach. The rooms were basic but spotlessly clean. The breakfast was good including cereal, toast, yogurt, pastries and limited hot food. The staff had very limited english but were very helpful. It is close to the airport. The swimming pool is very deep and not suited to young children and I never saw anyone using it.

The noise from the neighbouring rooms can be annoying. You can hear showers being used in the other rooms and the cleaning staff can be heard moving beds etc. There is also a strong stench on the beach, I'm not sure whether it is sewerage or rotting seaweed.

This is a typically Italian Hotel. it’s quite traditional and some features might appear dated to some but I think they were park of the charm. Brilliant choice of breakfast and reasonably priced drinks and snacks at the beach bar. The staff were lovey and helpful, in particular the beach bar staff. We ate fresh Parmigiana for lunch one day made by a lovely waiter who had previously owned a restaurant in County Durham. The absolute icing on the cake was the location of this hotel. Roll straight out of bed onto the beautiful white sandy beach and a nice walk along the front into the old town.

There was a queue for coffee in the morning but it was freshly ground!

The staff was very very nice, we arrived early and got the room an hour earlier than the appointment. They allowed us to leave our luggage in the lobby while the room was ready. The neighborhood is perfect, the beach was very close. The hotel pool was very clean, just like the lobby and the whole hotel. The cleaners do a very thorough job. Beautiful surroundings, the breakfast is varied. Eggs, bacon, baked goods, cakes, juice, coffee, milk, muesli, fruit. No one went hungry. The kindness of the staff is above average, all my respect! I highly recommend it. Thank you!!!!

Location was excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout the week making our stay even more relaxing as anytime we needed something the staff helped us. The breakfast was nice and it catered to all types whether you like cereal, pastries, eggs & bacon, yogurt and fruit etc. it had everything.

Really friendly staff, the room has a decent size and there is a beautiful beachfront view. The room was also cleaned and there was a frigobar inside where we could keep some wine and cheese that we bought. The hotel is located in a very good center area full of restaurants options.

the pool toilets weren’t cleaned and there's no toilet paper. The beach in front of the hotel is nice, but smells bad.

This hotel was very clean and on the beach. It was only a 15 minute walk to the old town which was full of wonderful shops, bars and restaurants.

The swimming pool has a very limited area to sunbathe with only a few sunbeds available. Whilst the pool was clean, it was in the shade by 5pm every night.
