The hotel was well priced, rooms were big and comfy, views over the river were excellent. The hotel in general was well maintained and clean, and I wouldn't hesitate to go back there.
The town is boring. It's in the middle of the countryside and there's not much life there. It's probably great for retired people looking for peace and quiet, but there's not much in the way of tourism appeal unless you go to Dusseldorf. The hotel didn't really have any negatives.

Freindly staff, easy check in and out, hotel is clean, basic with good facilities such as a fridge, hairdryer,small balcony, great/hot sauna. Steamroom was out of order, jacuzzi was on a coin basis and relaxing. Location of the hotel is located looking over the Rhein, great for a nice walk along the promenade. Also close to historical places such as Xanten, really worth a visit, or approximately an hour's drive to Dusseldorf for example.
Would give the hotel 3 stars instead of 4. Rooms pretty basic , no tea/coffee making facilities. Shower in bath , which just fitted without the floor getting soaked. Wellness facilities were on a reservation basis which other guests didn't seem to be aware of. Was stated on the site but could have been made clearer by check in. Not much to do in Rees for a family/October time.

Insufficient Pillows on bed and not very substantial ie; thick enough. Not enough additional cutlery at breakfast ( had to re-use dirty knife for spreading jam on bread)
