Schlosshotel Kronberg - Hotel Frankfurt

Hello everyone! Staying at this hotel is like stepping into history. Read about it first and adjust your expectations, especially when comparing it to full-scale 5-star hotels. For us personally they met all expectations. The Schloss belonged to a daughter of Queen Victoria of Britain. I believe there are very few castle hotels in Europe that can match this experience. The hotel pleasantly surprised us with a bottle of Riesling for my partner's birthday, even though we hadn't asked for it. The hotel has EV charging station in the parking area. I've visited many castle hotels in Europe, to my mind its in Top 3, I've been to if not number one, mostly because of wau effect due to its history, richnes of art in corridors of the hastle, many authentic furniture.

Maybe hotel restaurant could set an ambition or change concept inviting a michelin chief to reach the 1* star status, but it's up to hotel to decide. We were happy with the food. Not breathtaking or wau but was at a good level. DIinner 8 out 10

The grounds and the castle are magnificent. The furnishings were also magnificent, like a museum. This was our second stay at the hotel. Definitely don't miss the rose gardens or walking around the grounds in the morning and dusk. They are beautiful.

The bed was a bit too firm. Our first stay at the hotel in 2017 was met with a drink at the front desk & an employee offering to give us a private tour of the hotel. He showed me around rooms that were not open all the time. It was fabulous! This trip, they asked for 210 Euro if I wanted a tour. Also a conference was going on so whereas in 2017 it was a quaint hotel, it now seemed to be more commercialized. I don't blame them, but I was a bit disappointed. Still a lot to see just walking the hallways. Car needed to get around the area.

Great location and beautiful building. The gardens and the surroundings are also lovely to visit and plenty of parking space available for special cars. Some of the hotel staff were excellent hosts.

Did not like the fact that even after arriving at 14.00 the restaurant was already fully booked which prevented us from having a nice meal. Instead we were left with only choice to eat on our lap from the abysmal bar menu. Not great when you are travelling with a small child. Breakfast reception did not make us feel welcome. Some of the hotel staff were horrible or untrained in the realms of hospitality.

A beautiful historic location overlooking Frankfurt. The grounds are also beautiful and well maintained. Our room was very spacious, as was our bathroom, the view of the grounds, the fresh air and sunshine in the morning through the our windows made waking up very easy. The restaurant and breakfast are very nice, but the amazing staff are what allows you to really enjoy your stay, very friendly, pleasant and attentive. The town is a short distance away to explore and relax. Also a nice beer garden can be found in the grounds.

The stay in the hotel was very good. The hotel gave my parents a beautiful room with stunning views on the park. Lunch on the terrace however was disappointing. It took 2 hours until we got the first course. The staff is very friendly but not trained properly. The food quality was very good. The surroundings were stunning.

2 hours wait until we got our lunch. With a very small menu this should not be the case.

I loved the people who worked there. They didn't even mind me walking around the castle in the wee hours of the morning. It was my last castle and I was doing a little investigation (quietly). They asked me if I needed anything and I told them I was just walking around. They smiled and said "no problem".

The only thing I didn't like was the size of my room. I upgraded to a double supreme and still got a very small room with one bed that we could barely walk around. After I asked I was told they didn't know how large the rooms were and that I could get a bigger one next time. I also noticed there was a balcony outside my window but I could't access it unless I was in the room next door (which no one occupied).

Exceptional building and interiors. Real castle turned into luxury hotel, including furniture. Situated in the middle of a park/ golf course. Great service and food. Very exclusive setting, a real nice experience

Only negative was there is no air conditioning in many rooms, so on a hot summer night it gets very hot in the rooms. I guess for other nights it would not be an issue. The fan provided in my room was really very noisy and kept me awake most of the night. A silent fan would have done the job.

amazing location - beautiful landscaped gardens and Golf court. Historic landmark. Interior and decor sumptous European imperial style overall the guest areas. The majority of furniture are original pieces according the construction era of the last century. The experience of the Royal Suite is indeed a memorable adventure.

An unfortunate lack of training reveals weaknesses in guest services. The official public SITE visits in group sizes of 15 to 20 external guests create massive interferences in guest privacy.

Spacious room. Loved the bathtub. Loved location. Easy to see work clients. Lovely hotel.

Repeatedly had to follow up with staff to get some needs answered. The restaurant wouldn’t seat us at 8:30pm and we had to settle for bar food to which the waiter took 45 min to come serve us. Otherwise things were good

This castle feels like a journey back in time. We felt like in a fairytale. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The attention to detail in everything is remarkable. Don’t skip the breakfast, it is amazing. It looks like in the middle of nowhere but is only about 15 minutes walking distance to the train that takes you to Frankfurt city center in about 15 minutes. The city center is very crowded. I would recommend Bad Homburg city center instead.

It got a little too warm at night. We kept the windows open, which helped.
