Honestly, I couldn’t have been happier. This beautiful little hotel oozes with character. It is filled with antiques and objet d’arts. Throughout, it has bee wallpaper to reflect its name. My room and bathroom were small but absolutely charming and cosy. I had a little balcony, overlooking g the pretty street. The staff too are sweet, friendly and welcoming. I paid extra for breakfast - which was organic and pretty good. It’s right in the heart of the city in a great area for eating, shopping and sight seeing. You can park cheaply and easily on the street. The meters take cards.

Hotel L’abeille is a lovely little hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the hotel is perfectly situated near the train station and a short walk from the centre. They’ve really leaned into the Joan of Arc theme with lots of memorabilia all over the hotel which is fun. I really like that everything is bee themed including the key fob, the wallpaper and much more! Our room had a little balcony overlooking an enclosed area behind the hotel, it was a nice little secluded spot to read. The hot also has a roof terrace which gives you great views over the rooftops. Breakfast is decent with a nice selection of cold meats and cheeses and fruits and you get a croissant and a baguette. If I were a bee I would come here but I would also come here if I were a human, which I am.

The only gripe I had was that the bathroom lights are set to a timer and they’re not very sensitive. This means you can be in the middle of showering and the lights will go out and you have to wave your hands a lot to get it back on! Apart from that it was all good stuff - I thought we only got one pillow each. But actually there were spare pillows in the cupboard so that was fine.

The staff were very welcoming both at check in and at breakfast. The hotel is steeped in history with old winding staircases and pictures of the hotel from days gone by to an amazing roof terrace which we were fortunate to have use of as we were on the 4th floor. Breakfast was good and plentiful set you up for the rest of the day.

Not any fault of the hotel but my own fault for booking last minute we ended up in the attic of the hotel so maybe like the 5th floor the room was spacious but the bathroom was in the eaves so showering was a kneel down in the bath but hey I'm 6ft 5 apart from that the room was a good size.

The hotel has a very quaint charm, it is neither a cookie cutter modern chain, nor an old musty place. It reminded me of the late eighties Phillip Stark New York boutique hotels, but without the drama. The furniture, the wall coverings, the interesting room layouts, the staff and the location were all wonderful.

The bathroom was very clean and freshly redecorated, but I would have prefered a shower to the boot bathtub. Also, there is no elevator, the reservation confirmation mentioned it so we came with a small overnight bag. Still, for some people that could be a serious issue.

Great location at the center of the city. Fantastic atmosphere of an classic house. The entrance and lobby decorated with many Jeanne d'Arc collections were worth paying attention to. a beautiful garden at the rooftop. Breakfast served with a good service in a bright and comfortable space. A discount for a parking-lot close to the hotel was a big help. An electric-fan was a big help in the mid-summer. A bath tub was good enough and relaxed me.

I understand it was too much to expect a lift to a classic style buidling. If a window in my room could open, it was better.

The hotel is packed full of character and in the heart of Orleans, close to restaurants, bars and the historic centre.

It is very tricky to get to the hotel by car to drop off your luggage due to the town’s one-way systems and tram routes. Now we have done it once we would be less confused but it was rather challenging first time around! Getting your car to the paid overnight parking is also a bit of a pain because of the road system, but the parking is very secure and only five mins walk. That said, it is also a bonus to be staying in the heart of Orleans.

Beautiful rooms with great character, and huge modern bathrooms. Great location walking distance from the railway station and the historic centre, cafes, restaurants and shops. The staff were friendly and helpful and although we arrived well before checkin they happily stored our bags so we could go out and explore.

We were on the top floor and could hear noise from other rooms. Also very steep narrow stairs which was a bit of a challenge for getting luggage up, but we knew that in advance and were prepared for it. Neither of these things would stop me from staying there again.

Outstanding staff: friendly, informative, and competent. Very close to both train station and town center. Rooms a bit small but fine for short stays. Excellent breakfast, fairly priced, in lovely dining room. Heads up as there is no elevator. All the rooms begin floor 1, meaning up one set of winding stairs. Floor 2 is two sets of winding stairways. Wonderful rooftop terrace on third floor with garden plants and nice views. This is a charming old world “feel” hotel whose location and charm override its limitations.

I travelled with my daughter who had exams for 4 days and had to wake up at 6.30 AM every day. The first night she was bothered by the noise from the trams, which only stops around 11PM. I told the ladies at the reception and they moved us to a superior room, with a window away from the street, and essentially zero noise. We also got the upgrade for free. I was so impressed by the responsiveness and attention of the ladies at the reception that I went and got them a box of chocolates.

This hotel, is in a charming building, with antique furniture and paintings. Feels like in a castle. The only price to pay is that as a result it is impossible to install an elevator.

This is a wonderful old fashioned hotel, with wonderful turn of the century ambiance and furnishings. Loved it. Even without a lift (as a result of not pandering to modern destructions) it is still true. They offered to help., It is very handy for the train station and close to the center - and Orleans Cathedral. So excellent location. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to old-fashioned lovers of quality. Staff extremely friendly. Lovely breakfast room. What more can I say.

Can't think of anything I didn't like! Sorry!
