Hotel Villa Rose

We loved our stay at the Hotel Villa Rose. It is outside the busy rush of central Nice, but still so easy to get into the centre on the tram, which is a 5-minute walk away. We were surprised with a free upgrade to our room, and our every whim was catered to. Breakfast - local Viennoisserie and breads, was delicious, and the bed was very comfy, as were the towels. Son was an amazing and hard-working host, and gave us the best recommendations of where to visit and where to eat. If you are looking for a relaxing, comfortable and cosy place to stay, which isn’t in the middle of the tourist melee, we would highly recommend Hotel Villa Rose!

Location, reception, garden, large bathroom (actually bathroom is suitable for ‘wheel chair’ guests), sheltered parking; coffeemaker in the room Please note: we have stayed in a the former but nicely rebuild garage. The parking is the path to this garage so you can’t drive in or out freely if other cars block your car.

Breakfast (15$ is too much) despite sitting in the nice garden); no fridge; lack of ventilation in the bathroom (stays humid the whole time)

My stay in Nice at the hotel was absolutely awesome . Big thanks to Son who has been very welcoming and helpful from the moment i step in. I would like to admit the environment and the garden where you can spend some time being out of the loud town having coffee , tea or wine just to chill. The room was very clean and been maintain on a daily bases. The hotel looks mostly like a home not a temporary place to stay at. I loved it so much. Thank you !!!!

Pierre and Son were very kind and helpful. Room was clean and location was very good close to the tram stop. Appreciated a kettle in my room. Breakfast in the garden was a delight.

This was the smallest bed and room I ever slept slept in. Okay as only stayed two nights and totally jet lagged after flight from Melbourne the first night to register anything.

The house is beautiful and quirky - makes for a special stay. The room had everything I needed and the bathroom was perfect. The property is very clean and the staff very accommodating.

It is quite far from the centre of things but for the price (still a lot but everywhere is a lot) and the house itself, I didn’t mind the extra walk. The aircon was very loud in my room so I couldn’t use it during the night but it wasn’t such a problem.

Typical villa where you feel more at home than in a hotel, given the great architecture, the tasteful and personal interior decoration, the friendly welcome and the limited size. Lovely garden too. Everything spot clean, comfortable beds, good aircon.

I chose the smallest bedroom and indeed everything was a bit small. There was obviously no choice but to build small bathrooms within each bedroom in order to preserve the original interior layout. That is an acceptable compromis to enjoy an authentic charming place.

Beautiful hotel with an even more beautiful garden. We loved sitting outside for breakfast or lunch. The room was very clean and reception was very helpful. Spoke perfect english, and even gave us maps with suggestions for things to do during our stay.

The hotel was in a great and quiet area, but we did have to take the tram about 20 minutes to get into city center. The trams are great and easy to use so we didn't mind, but it is different than staying right in the center or in Old Nice.

Very friendly staff, excellent breakfast spread by the hotel's beautiful garden. Room was clean, and wifi worked well.

Room and bed was quite small. There was also a mosquito in the room which I couldn't get rid of, and had to get something by the supermarket to take care of. Would be handy if the hotel could include something in the rooms for guests to help.

Charming boutique hotel with a cozy and beautiful garden, very clean and tastefully decorated room. The host were extremely welcoming, helpful and very knowledgable on the area. Breakfast was superb, served in the garden with fresh croissants, artisan bread, yogurt, cold meat, eggs, choice of coffee or tea as well as freshly squeezed orange juice.

The hotel is stylish and comfortable with very attentive manager/owner (Sun) and helpful staff. The garden is like a little haven from the craziness of Nice. The owner has done a beautiful job of the decor, both inside and out, with a luxurious French villa style blended with south east Asian touches. Very classy! Semi-secure parking, up a covered driveway with closing gates. Your vehicle isn't exactly 'secure' but it is hidden from view of the main road.

The bathroom was very nice and stylish, and of course clean, but it is impossible to have a shower without soaking the floor (as is the case in so many hotels). Also, the shower head wall bracket is incorrect and holds the shower head horizontal instead of vertical. The hotel dropped a mark for 'comfort' because I found the air conditioning unit quite noisy with no 'quiet' setting. Bring your mozzy spray - you'll need it!
