Hôtel Le Royal Promenade des Anglais

I loved the location, literally across the beach and a quick 10 minute walk to old town and new town.

I didn’t like the staff. The older man at reception desk was very rude when we asked him to call a taxi for us he asked why we can’t use our phones. I felt as though the staff were forcing themselves to be nice to customers who were not French.

The sea view room was an excellent size and had fantastic views onto the Promenade des Anglais and the beach at Nice. The staff were very friendly and exceptionally helpful, without being overbearing. All in all this hotel is the best 3 star on the seafront at Nice and I would book to stay here again without hesitation!

The hotel from the outside is very pretty! Inside too but it looks a bit empty and needs some more decorations. But it is nice and clean. The women in the reception are not so professional and a bit confused so it took some time while checking in. But they were nice. We had a bit bigger room with the view of the promenade. The room was nice and big and really pretty. Bathroom is ok. The view from the room was so nice! The breakfast is nothing speciel. It is a simple breakfast with bread, cheese, ham and eggs and sweets. Nothing wrong with it at all. But unfortunately the have no glutenfree bread to offer if you have celiaki. You can make your own omelette which is really nice.

Great location! Easy to get there from the airport by public transport. We got a room with a sea view, which was a very good room, but if you are sensitive to noise during the night, this is probably not the best room for you.

Very late check-in hours (at 16:00), we couldn't check in earlier, and if we had the chance we would need to pay 10 euros for each earlier hour - which I find a very bad policy. The breakfast was expensive and not worth the money at all - very poor selection of food and if you have any food restrictions/allergies (such as gluten-free) there are no alternatives for you.

With no doubt the best is the old building of the Royal Hotel and its location. All facilities are clean, but everywhere sounds pressure of decades since the last renewal of the Hotel (apparently during 60th). It corresponds well to the 3 star rating, but clearly it was high standing hotel 100 years ago. The price was also correct with regards to festivities.

The slightly disappointing point was the continental breakfast. It was too simple for the 17 euros asked. It resembled 8-12 Euros breakfasts proposed by lower rank hotels (e.g. IBIS budget) but was far away from those proposed for 15-18 Euros by IBIS or Radisson or any Nordic Hotels. We have selected this Hotel using "parking" as our main search criteria. We have payed the reservation and only after were informed that there is no parking at the Hotel.

We got two standard double rooms which seemed completely newly renovated. The rooms were bright and very delicately furnished. We were also surprised that the room was equipped with a kettle including coffee and tea - and also a small fridge in the wardrobe as well as a safe for our passports. The cleaning staff also do a fantastic job - sheets were cleaned and beds made every day as well as new and clean towels in the bathroom, where there was also body lotion and shampoo/shower gel. The staff at the reception were also incredibly pleasant and helpful - regardless of the time of day. This hotel is highly recommended!

Fabulous hotel and staff wonderful. What a location, sea right in front with the famous blue chairs to sit and take in the views, shops and cafes, restaurants and the old town a 10 minute lovely walk by the pier. Rooms are so spacious and nice lounge area to sit and people watch. The foyer of great hotel is very nice too where guests say bon jour and little chats. Have stayed a few times at this wonderful hotel. Perfect location across from the bay of angels, so central to everywhere. Take a train to Monaco for the day, it is so beautiful and everyone is so happy there.

Large rooms, plenty of space, clean, friendly and helpful staff. Nice breakfast with hot and continental options. Very close to various restaurants and bars but the hotel was quiet inside. Easy to get around with the Metro System to the Port and Airport. A Tram System is also very convenient for getting around. Central Train Station is only 15 minutes walk from the hotel. I always like to stay in Nice and use public transport to travel around, Monaco, Antibes, Cannes and so much more are very close when using the trains. But Nice doesn't have the silly prices of the more prestigious locations nearby.

Nothing really. I enjoyed my stay, it was relaxing and enjoyable. Just what I wanted and needed.

The location was perfect! the rooms were spacious and had mini-fridges and hair dryers. The temperature and pressure of the shower were amazing! The hotel staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the area. There is a laundromat conveniently located just 2 blocks behind the hotel.

The air conditioning only works when the hotel staff switches the entire building on. Fortunately, we went in March, and the temperature was great with the window open. At night, the street noise can be a bit loud, but you can also hear the waves crashing on the shore if you have a sea view room.
