Kyriad Montpellier Sud - A709

Arrived at the hotel at about 9 pm. The welcoming receptionist was talking a script without personality, all she was interested is delivering the script, talking like a robot very fast monologue, furthermore the hotel Kyriad took £150 pre-payment just in case the bedroom was damaged, this was refunded in the morning. I feel I was treated like a hooligan! She said they notified me with email that afternoon but as I was driving travelling by car, I did not get any email and I was not aware of this. If this is their policy and , I will not book a room with Kyriad again. The receptionist in the morning was helpful and pleasant, Apart from this, it was a good location for stop over whilst travelling south of France, clean hotel, good bed and quiet night.

Room 9 where I stayed had been refurbished since my last visit and I have to say that I was impressed with the layout. There were plug sockets at the right places, even a double USB by the bedside for the all important phone charging. Mood lighting above the bed and independent bedside reading lights and a tea making facility completed the electrics in the room. There were plenty of clothes hangers for two people and adequate shelving for a short stay without having to live out of a suitcase. Kyriad designers have got this room just right, I hope all the rooms have or will be to this standard. The room smelt lovely as soon as you open the door, I couldn't find the air freshener but who cares, a very nice touch. The garden area under the Olive Tree was a pleasure to sit and have a beer till 10pm (weather permitting) regardless of it overlooking the carpark, a very nice touch. My stay was extremely pleasurable as all the staff were pleasant and attentive.

Since the moment we entered the property we had a great experience at the check in. The receptionist was really polite and asked if we had plans for dinner or breakfast. The room was super clean and cozy, it was a familiar room so there is a mezzanine with two single beds.

Not much space for a crib, but for a short term stay or a couple the size of the room will be fine. And having a night club beside the hotel. We could hear the music but not too much.

The receptionist was extraordinary. She managed a line of customers waiting to check in, our orders for pizza and requests for directions from others, without ever losing her smile. We also really appreciated being able to recharge our electric car during the night.

Our room had a mezzanine for our kids' beds, which was wonderful, but the stairs to go up to the mezzanine, the door to the bathroom and the front door are all too close, making it very cumbersome to go in and out when the stairs to the mezzanine are not locked against the wall. I hate to think what would happen in an emergency. Also this is not the fault of the hotel, but the restaurants nearby closed early although they had informed the hotel that they would remain open.

Big and comfortable bed and pillows. Electric boiler in the room. Varied and delightful breakfast with homemade frozen yogurt and juices. Enough car park places. There was a water dispenser in the reception. We liked the idea of having different lights in the shower in order not to waste water. Receptionist speaks English and Spanish.

The room was too small. Very far from the city center, as well as badly connected. There is the option of tram, but the nearest stop is also far from the hotel.

Location near the motoway very handy for an overnight stop on the drive from Norway to Spain.

There was a fault with the room telephone where kept making a loud noise every 15 to 30 minutes for no apparent reason. The night receptionist tried to resolve promptly but was unsuccesful and I was moved to a different room after midnight. Unfortunately I lost quite a lot of the night's sleep as I had a 06:00 start. Excellent response to try and resolve by staff.

The hotel was really good, perfect for those who are on the road and want to spend some days to relax. The have a terrace where you can enjoy a good Pizza and a bottle of wine. It is pratical and comfortable. Everything that my boyfriend and I were looking for.

The room was very nice and clean. Excellent mattress and pillows (if you like them, you can buy one at the reception!). We were just passing by so the location was great (no need to enter the city center). There was some noise outside because of nearby restaurants and bars, but we didn't hear any of that inside the room. The only noise came at one point from some noisy guests that we heard in the hallway but we can't blame the hotel for that... :-) Very friendly staff, who answered all our questions including where to have a late dinner at the time of our arrival.

Our rate included breakfast but there were no options for food allergies (lactose + gluten), e.g. margarine instead of butter, or soy based/lactose-free yoghurt, which are very common in Belgium, but apparently rare in France... It would be an easy fix for them to include that going forward, I'd say. Other than that, everything was fine!

The receptionist gave useful tourist information about Montpellier and the breakfast was so impressive. It has a fantastic array of high quality options.

It was difficult to access after a certain hour when the front gates close. There is an access code written on the paper you get when you check in but if you leave without it, then it is tricky to get in , there is a number to call but when we called no one answered. Luckily, someone else called 5 min later and we could enter with them . Also the wifi may be fast but there are messages saying it is not a secure and safe link (which I don't usually get) so I was not confident to use the internet.

I stay at this hotel every year because the staff are excellent and courteous. The pricing is good and provided you ensure the Sat Nav recognises Lattes as a postal area it is easy to find. More than adequate FREE parking, who could ask for more!

The mattress in my room I stayed in on this occasion was a little tired and dipped in the middle, so wasn't as comfortable as I've stayed in other rooms at the same Hotel. I'm sure it will be on the upgrade programme.
