Hotelo Lyon Charité

Fantastic hospitality from wonderful hosts for whom nothing was too much trouble. A home from home. Though on a busy street corner, the hotel's central location was excellent with easy walking access to both rivers, the old town and many and varied interesting sights and places. It was easy to return and snooze/refresh ourselves between outings! The room was cleaned daily and staff were available 24/7.

The room was adequate in size but the bathroom and toilet were funtional and lacked natural light.

Its location was excellent, a lovely easy walk to beautiful central Lyon and the old town. The hotel was excellent 3* with comfortable beds and clean linen. The front of house staff namely Myriam during the day and JeanPaul at night were so attentive and very helpful always, even booked dinner for us, and a taxi to take us to the airport. Definitely would recommend and stay there if we ever return to Lyon.

Cannot say anything negative. But just to note if you stay in the triple room, it has only one window very high up.

The room was small, but very comfy and clean, we even got a balcony overlooking the street in front of the hotel. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was spotless clean, spacious and comfortable. The hotel staff was super nice, helpful and responsive. The breakfast was simple but delicious. The location is perfect, very close to the train and bus station, a walking distance to all the important places in the city center. Luggage storage is available on site for free. If we ever return to Lyon we will definitely choose Hotelo Lyon Charite again!

The size of the room may be an issue for some, but it is in line with the description. For longer stays one may consider upgrading to a larger room.

The rooms were clean and fresh, the breakfast was simple but good, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The location is great for exploring the city, and there is a train station very close

The sound insulation between the room and the corridor was rather poor (that being said, the hotel is rather small, with not too many people, but whoever was passing by the door we could hear very well). Also, there was a bathtub in our room but there was no stopper so the bath couldn’t not be used (only the shower). Not a big deal but a bit of a pity, never had before.

The staff was exceptional…day, night and weekends. Friendly, kind, helpful, patient. (Rare indeed) The bed and room were comfortable. I could open the windows too. Great location for the train, restaurants and short walk to all the sights.

Front hall could use a little refresh. A little bit of street noise but I didn’t mind since it is a city.

The charming warm and professional staff make it a pleasure to stay here. Our room was in quiet courtyard so noise from the main road was not a problem. Excellent location to reach all places of interest. Nice breakfast with comfortable seating and good value choice.

Rooms on the main road are noisy and cramped. Too small for a couple for more than one night. One power socket not working and unable to be fixed due to weekend. We were moved to better room, so no compalint.

Very nice staff that had plenty of good recommendations and immediately sat down with us to tell us about the best restaurants and what to see in the city. Very professional! The breakfast was great with many choices. I especially appreciated the tea pots with plenty of tea in the morning. All of the staff were very nice and helpful! The hotel was clean and very easy to find.

The hotel is a bit worn down, some of the rooms could use small renovations such as fastening tiles in the bathroom floor and changing the broken toilet seat.

Very friendly and accommodating staff, and cut me some slack on some special requests. Like early coffee, etc.

The room was a bit cramped for two large suitcases, so another suitcase stand would have been helpful. Also we did report some mildewy smell on the sheets, and the manager said they had changed laundry companies recently but it was not offensive. Also seemed a bit expensive but we made the reservations late and the World Cup Rugby was in town, so understandable.

Hotel Charite is a most welcoming small 2 star hotel in the centre of Lyon and could not e more convenient to every city centre facility. We had no need of public transport. Rooms were small but, not uncharacteristic of French hotels in this category. So particularly tall or extra large people it probably does not suit. Breakfast is simple but perfect in the French way. For a short stay in Lyon where spending a lot of time in your hotel is not a priority and you do not require bar facilities, Hotel Charite provides great value and a great welcome.

One of our party was particularly tall and d while the hotel provided for the largest room in the house it t was somewhat restrictive, but for 3 night sit worked fine.

The staff made my stay amazing, going out of their way to help me at every turn. When I checked in, the receptionist went over the main sights of Lyon and how to get to each place. I arrived very early, and they offered free luggage storage. They even let me get my room hours earlier than the check in time, which absolutely made my day. Everything else I asked for, they really did their best to accommodate. Haven't been to a hotel with friendlier staff than this! The room was clean and cozy. Breakfast was really nice and the hotel location is perfect for anyone coming from or planning to take Lyon Perrache Station. The best part of my visit to Lyon was coming back to this hotel for a comfortable and welcoming stay.

It was great for me as a solo traveler without much luggage. Lighting was a bit dim in the room, and I wish there was some tissue paper in the room. But these are really minor things.
