Hotel Le Bon Laboureur

We came all the way from the states for a cousins wedding in herry. I booked based on location and ratings. It’s exactly what we anticipated. Quiet, calm, relaxed atmosphere. Very kind staff. We sat in the courtyard for an hour to enjoy a bottle of wine of local fare and it was a great way to start the evening. Enjoy a picturesque view of the town from the island during sunset. Breakfast was great and not rushed. Room was spacious, clean, and quiet. Bed was comfortable. Nothing fancy but a great place to stay for a night or weekend.

Nothing, met our expectations.

We staid for four nights in La-Charité sur Loire for sightseeing and wine tasting in this part of the Loire. Le Bon Laboureur was a good choice for a hotel in the town and on an island in the Loire. So all the restaurants were in walking distance. Unfortunalely there are not many restaurants open from Sunday night to Tuesday. Not the fault of the owner of course. Also the fact that a lot of heavy traffic runs over the bridges is not his fault. We were warned upfront that our room was oriented to the street. We appreciated the breakfast and we want to express our special thank to the room service which was excellent.

Very convenient location both being on the bike route and on the island below an enchanting town, excellent facilities (so long as, like us, you don’t like air-con), good breakfast served from early on. And, if you ignore the ‘Baignade Interdit’ signs, very close to a great little sandy beach on the Loire where all the locals swim safely with maximum depth in summer of about 1.5m

We had a room right by the N-road which, although it calmed down at night, still impinged and meant it really wasn’t sensible to have the window open - but it did have excellent triple glazing that kept 90% of the noise out

This small independent hotel is on an island in the middle of the Loire. The owner has a lovely welcoming smile. The courtyard is a great place to keep you bike or sip on a cup of coffee and the room I stayed in had exposed wood beams and a slanting ceiling which I loved! It's an easy walk to the park on the island and if you don't want to head out for dinner, I highly recommend a take-away pizza from the pizzeria just before crossing the bridge (true wood-fired Italian pizza) and a bottle of wine in the park watching the sunset over La Charité-sur-Loire as the view of this small village is fabulous.

The Hotel Le Bon Laboureur was a great place! The staff, the hotel, and the rooms were friendly, clean, very comfortable and nice. They have a great location allowing for nice walk every morning and evening across the bridge to and from the village of La Charité-sur-Loire. There is a wonderful pizza restaurant on the corner and several other restaurants and pubs just across the bridge.

I loved everything. They had a great breakfast with very good coffee, fresh croissants and baguettes with cheese butter and yogurt. It was very nice!

Nice hotel on a little island. Not very fancy and bit old, but quite practical and clean. Good for people doing the loire biking like us. Host is very friendly and helpful (helped us with a flat tire). Breakfast is good. Room and bathroom were bigger then we expected.

When in a ground floor room like us (which as such is very practical) the noise from people above can be bothersome.

the bed was really comfortable and the place very clean. the breakfast was a buffet with a good range of food. Laurent, le propriétaire était très accueillant et affable. an excellent one day stay in a lovely place. Ideally situated for the Loire à vélo.

Close to the cycling route. Nice courtyard to have the bikes in. comfortable room.

There was an enclosed garden which was quiet and offered both shade and sun. The rooms were clean and quiet. The breakfast was plentiful and good. We were within a short walking distance of La Charité .

well located, friendly owner, and nice breakfast and large room. Great for one night stay

not much, rooms maybe a little dated but hey, it’s a small town. very little to complain about
