The Originals Boutique, Hôtel Normandie, Auxerre

Room was clean and comfortable if on the small side, with a newly refurbished en-suite bathroom (but see comment on the shower, below). Air-con in the room was very welcome as was the free bottles of mineral water available from reception. Staff were pleasant and helpful and the buffet breakfast was good. The secure garage parking was useful for us motorcyclists, but beware when arriving that it is entered from the one-way street at the rear of the hotel, Rue Faidherbe, not from the front. Easy walk to the quay-side and into town.

The over-bath shower was a bit odd: it had no rail just a low-set clip to hold the head making showering an "interesting" one-handed experience.

The location is the strong point, I also liked that outside the hotel there is a small arera with tables where you can sit. Also positive is the possibility of having bottled water for free. I found the person very kind and always available to my requests today is not negligible.

I would like to find the minibar in the room, and the possibility of being able to have dinner in the breakfast room and not in the common area, embarrasses both those who are having a small snack and those who work, read, etc etc

Exceptionally friendly staff who were very willing to help and to suggest places to visit. The room was quiet and spacious and the shower excellent. The breakfast options were ample and there were room service options too. I had a very interesting conversation in a mixture of French and English about politics and current affairs in the bar with some French guests over a few beers. An Exceptionally friendly hotel.

great location and decent breakfast, though it got quite busy at 9am and it was hard for the staff to keep the food replenished. Easy parking in the car park. comfortable bed.

Our room was around back and felt a bit added on. The door to the bathroom was a flimsy accordion. The main part of the hotel looked lovely but we were around the back, closer to the car park.

Reception staff were friendly and helpful. The bar was well-stocked with local produce (this is Burgundy country but they also stocked an excellent locally brewed beer). The room was comfortable and spotlessly clean. The free wifi worked. Breakfast was good. This is not a hotel with pretensions to luxury but a very good mid-market place for a stopover on a trip through France.

Honestly, no criticism

Receptionists were great. Nice room, comfy bed. Private garage for parking a bonus. Very short walk to find somewhere to eat in the evening. Breakfast was ok.

I appreciate the garage isn’t the biggest, but the charge is a bit much. Nothing to do with the hotel, but Dominos around the corner tried to rip me off. Wanted a pizza, not an argument over money.

All staff were excellent. Breakfast was excellent. Secure parking was a bonus, as was the separate, secure, bike storage area

Shower head pointed straight out of the shower cubicle so soaked rest of bathroom if you didn't have a hand free to hold it.

As arrived late in the evening, front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. Round of applause for the reception guy that provided excellent service. Thank you!

Nicely Traditional but with modern facilities such as bathroom and air conditioning. Friendly and helpful staff. Very convenient location for walking into centre of Auxerre and a good buffet breakfast.

Everything was lovely, a nicely run, clean, good hotel. however,it would be so nice to have a coffee machine in the room …. we, and I suspect others, would like to have a coffee while they are getting ready for the day!! and also to have some lotion in the bathroom…
