Solymar Ivory Suites

I stayed in a 55-square-meters junior suite which included a living room with very comfortable couches and a 280-channel TV, a small balcony, a clean bathroom with 5 towels, and a nice bedroom which had 2 very comfortable single beds, a large spacious wardrobe, a safe, as well as excellent air conditioning in both the living room and the bedroom. The breakfast was very delicious, the swimming pool's water was clean and well-filtered. For the price of 750 per night this deal was, in my opinion, an absolute bargain.

Firstly, there was no wifi service in the rooms, only in the reception, I could receive it in my room on the 2nd floor but of course if it ever received a signal it was always poor. They tell me they used to have Wifi in the rooms but the infrastructure they had was problematic for them to sustain, there were also next to no shower accomodations such as as a shower gel, shampoo or shaving cream. They only had another soap dispenser next to the taps which served the purpose but was obviously less than ideal. I relayed these 2 points to the staff on checkout and they said they were already aware and working on them.

- Staff were really friendly Ahmed greeted us very kindly and helped us to get settled very quickly. Islam made sure we had a very comfortable stay, he was always willing to help. Thank you both! - The swimming pool was clean. - The room (or apartment in our case) was very spacious. - Food at the hotel was amazing - not a huge variety but the quality was very good and consistent. - Very close to the airport. - Beaches are very close to the airport (20 minutes walking distance). I hope to stay here again soon.

- The two ACs were leaking but this was fixed very quickly once we informed the staff. - TV was a bit old and there weren’t any English channels.

It's been a pleasure to observe the attitude of the hotel staff during my short stay. From Mr. Ahmed giving friendly advices about the neighbourhood, to the restaurant chef making breakfast omelette on request with a big smile - everyone showed sincere willingness to make my stay nice and easy.

Upon arrival, it was a bit difficult to understand how to control two air conditioners in the living room and in the bedroom with a single remote control. Having a brief user manual would be helpful. Also, Internet connection required a WiFi router reset. I got clear instructions from the staff how to do it.

Good price / quality ; very friendly personnel; nice and spacious room. Food is good and big portions are served for dinner (but lack of variety - see my comment under).

Since there are demolition works in front of the hotel, I would suggest to put guests away from the street as work begins as from 6:45 - 7am; not very nice when having a relaxing holiday. Would also suggest to have more variety in food : I stayed here one week and breakfast was literally the same every day; also the soup in the evening was the same .. not much variety in dinner options as well... Swimming pool area is nice but almost no sun and water is cold

The apartments are simply wonderful: spacious, nicely decorated, good lighting, comfortable couch and chair in the living room, large windows, airconditioning, good water pressure and temperature in the shower everything is well maintained. Breakfast had quite a lot of items and was quiet and relaxing during my visit. It's 15 minutes walk to the nearest center with shops and restaurants, although there are a few individual stores closer to the hotel. For the price I paid, this was absolutely worth the money.

The main disadvantage of this hotel is that it is not at the sea shore, so it does not have it's own beach. If you want to swim in the sea you will need to use beaches that belong to other hotels and pay a small fee. There is a swimming pool at the hotel, but it's nothing special.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. My room (suite) was very large with a separate bedroom, kitchen, bathroom and living room. Large fridge-freezer which was always refilled, of course against cost accounting. But the prices for it were acceptable. The hotel is very close to the airport, but without the noise of a the airport.

Internet is only available in the lobby, which is a no-go these days. In addition, the connection was very different in quality. Downloads and work was almost impossible. It's about 200m to the beach, which wasn't a problem for me.

Amazing and quiet place for the perfect vacation. Clean and spacious room. Everyone in the hotel is professional, helpful and friendly. Great location in the heart of Hurghada. Uber available all the time. Amazing swimming pool with a separate 2 parts pool for kids and little kids. The food is delicious with variety of options and the restaurant is open 24/7. You will need nothing more. We really loved the place, our stay was very relaxing and we are already planning for our next stay.

Excellent location, walk-in distance from the airport, friendly staff with good English, no problems with payment, credit cards accepted. 24h reception desk, easy to find. Great upgrade options available. Spacious room with all necessary equipment including electric kettle at the kitchenette.

They checked and scanned both passports of all tourists not only one who is the contact person and payer. This is a bit confusing. No bathtub in our room, only shower. Cold stone floor without slippers can be cold)

we needed a hotel close to the airport to catch a flight the following day. the hotel is in a great sport for taxis to take you to the airport and only 10 minute walk from the boulevard. hotel staff are very friendly and also knowledgable answering a lot of our questions and helping us. the Room w stayed in is a whole apartment with plenty of space and a good balcony to enjoy the fresh air.

WiFi is the only issue. you’ll need to be downstairs in the lobby or restaurant to use. but signal with Vodafone sim is very clear in the room so you can still use your phone mobile data.

Again a very lovely stay, unfortunately this time just 24 hours but very relaxing after a long roadtrip. Special thanks to Ammar from the reception desk for arranging breakfast in my room in this exceptional case. Sol Y Mar Ivory Suites is your go to boutique hotel in Hurghada. All staff is wonderful, friendly yet modest and respectful of your personal space. Next time I will not check out and will forever live in this wonderful home away from home.
