71 Nyhavn Hotel

The location is one of, if not the BEST in the whole city. It’s beautifully maintained, and the design and decor is unusual and beautiful (lots and lots of exposed timbers, great art in the lobby, and on and on). The breakfast buffet is excellent, and they even had an excellent omelette station, which from my experience is quite unusual in European hotels. The staff is extremely friendly, as are almost all Danes, and they speak excellent English so when they help you out it makes things a lot easier. The beds are comfortable, the rooms are comfortable, and . . . well, you get the picture. We can’t say enough good things about this hotel. I first stayed here over 30 years ago, and it’s only gotten better!

I’d have to lie, because we were satisfied and pleased across the board.

Great selection for breakfast, good quality and fresh. Location very good for solo travellers, near to main sights and lively in the evenings. Room was very clean, bed very comfortable. The staff are very attentive, friendly and helpful. Excellent customer service.

One small thing, my room was a little noisy late evening, maybe because it was near to the lift.

Our stay at 71 Nyhavn was a big part of why we enjoyed our week in Copenhagen so much. The staff were amazing - warm, friendly and thoughtful. Daniela, who oversees the breakfast room every morning, was a highlight for us, as well as the breakfast - delicious and ample. when you start your day with that breakfast you’re not hungry until dinner! When the maid service wasn’t able to clean the room, because we were inside reading and enjoying the view, they would leave a bag with fresh towels, Kleenex, etc. And the location could not be better. You’re at the end of the canal with the colorful houses that are in every picture of Copenhagen. Our room looked out at the harbor, just beautiful!

There was not one thing that needed to be improved.

Breakfast was fabulous. Good variety and very tasty food. Lovely outside space in which to eat if desired. The staff at the hotel were extremely helpful and friendly. My husband is in a mobility scooter and they were very accommodating for him. The room was beautiful, the bathroom spotless and easy to use. Beds comfortable. We had a view of the harbor, wonderful place to simply sit and look out the window.

Accessibility has some issues. There is one wing of the hotel that can't be reached without negotiating a flight of stairs. Very hard for a person with mobility issues. Even reaching the breakfast room needs stairs. That seemed very inconsiderate for guests who have difficulty getting around. I'd love to see this hotel made more accessible. A simple lift or ramp to the lower floor would solve many problems.

Waterbus is right outside the door! And, it's a very walkable area. Very much appreciated the sanitizer stations everywhere, and hope people use them! Breakfast was great and the staff are friendly and helpful. The gluten-free breakfast rolls were wonderful--should be available for all meals. We didn't try it, but the restaurant did have gluten-free pasta, too. A/C worked great.

It would make the room more comfortable to have luggage racks for 2 bags. Sustainability policy regarding repeat towel use seems to be ignored by staff🤔 Taller travelers be aware of low ceiling beams! At 6', I kept bumping into the beam near room exit, if ball cap was on!

The breakfast was excellent plentiful and with quite a few choices. The staff was very friendly and helpful across the board. The location was very good, quite busy with tourists but our room faced the internal courtyard so it was quiet. We could walk everywhere but we were also very near all types of public transport including the ferry. The shower was good and the bed was comfortable.

The room was as expected after reading previous reviews. The safe in our room was a bit temperamental and the small fridge-bar was hardly cool. We managed and didn't report either.

The hotel was lovely and situated a short walk from the bulk of the attractions. Good facilities in the room. No external noise at all, even though its in the heart of a tourist area. Very comfy beds. Breakfast large and varied. Hotel price is at a premium, but it is definitely worth it and we would definitely stay again.

There was some slight noise from people moving around upstairs, but it didn't spoil our stay and we only really noticed because the hotel was so quiet and comfortable.

We stayed here the second week in February, and even though it was cold outside, the room and indeed the hotel were lovely and warm. Our room had a great view over the mouth of the Nyhavn Canal, and a well equipped bathroom. Bed was really comfortable, and the room well-equipped. Special mention must go to Yasmin on the reception desk, and Daniella who served breakfast in the morning. Both kindly took the time to explain the area and recommend activities. Would definitely stay again.

A gym would have been a useful addition.

Perfectly located, very friendly stuff, great breakfast. We had a nice and quiet room. They had bicycles for hire and they were also in a good condition.

The room was too small for two adults taller than 175cm. Next time we book another room. I thought a junior suit is apropriat, but it was not good because of stairs to the bed and the bed in a corner directly under the roof . And we had a queen size bed- too small for us.

A great location on the harbour. Very friendly welcome and easy check in. Had a room on the first floor overlooking the river with the Hotel restaurant below. Had an excellent meal , service and food excellent. The Nyhaven area really lively with many bars and restaurants, and very busy on a warm June evening. Really good breakfast, including freshly cooked omelettes. Would stay here again if ever back in Copenhagen.

A personal thing but the bed in our room was very soft, the pillows a bit thin.
