Hotel Casa Don Luis by Faranda Boutique, a member of Radisson Individuals

A beautiful modern hotel with big, well appointed rooms and great air conditioning which you absolutely need! The staff were incredible, friendly and super helpful. The location is really excellent, central but also in a slightly quieter part than some of the noisier areas in the Old City. The hotel restaurant is truly fantastic.

A very small thing but the cupboard for clothes could have had shelves inside and not just been an open storage space. The pool is beautiful but is right by the lobby and restaurant, not in a specially demarcated place. We tended to wait until quieter times, between meal services, to swim.

The decor of this hotel is amazing. I've visited Cartagena before and love the vibe of these small boutique hotels. The bed was extremely comfortable. The staff was super helpful in obtaining reservations for us throughout our stay, brokering the charter of a boat, and we even ate dinner from the hotel restaurant in a private room one night. The breakfast was perfect and there was a lot of variety. We visited in a group of 8 and we all absolutely loved our stay.

Sometimes, the bath water was not hot, and you had to wait a long time, but it was not that inconvenient at all.

Loved the location, the style of the place and the decoration. Very nice rooms and style overall.

I made the booking on Booking.com. When I placed the booking it said I would pay in USD. However when I checked in they converted the USD into Colombian Pesos, which meant I lost money with the exchange rate conversation twice (as my credit card then converted the COP back in to USD). This meant I ended up paying USD 20 more for the room than what I booked it for on Booking.com. Beware of this, as it is NOT favourable for the customer!

the property is a lovely oasis in hot and crowded town. The staff- each and every one without exception- is warm, gracious, willing and happy to please. Management. is clearly doing a great job because it is reflected in the staff. Kudos to Eduardo for going above and beyond to help out with any problem also with great recommendations. Muchisimas gracias!

1. Insipid music- mostly American and Italian wannabe but we are in Colombia.! a little Latin music please. 2. The darkness in bathrooms which is more a Colombian thing, not just this hotel. How’s a girl supposed to put in makeup? or for a guy to shave ?

Loved the place itself and its excellent location. The adjoining restaurant is superb--best pasta/Italian place in Cartagena for sure. Very nice main patio for breakfast, king personnel and a good sized room for three in our party.

The room lacked storage space and/or shelves to place our things. Food and drink service at the pool area was difficult and slow. Pool is nice and sunny but located very far from other areas and no personnel were there permanently, so to order drinks and food while enjoying the pool was very complicated and slow.

Very stylish decoration. Very nice hotel, helpful and friendly staff. Abundant breakfast with a fine variety of options and fresh fruits. The restaurant has a very nice inner venue, but most of the tables are placed in the patio, which is perfectly ok during day hours, but not that pleasant during the night if you want to rest a bit from the beautiful but bursting Cartagena. Restaurant manager and staff should be aware of the buzz and noise coming from the patio, and seriously respect the opening hours or, at least, place big groups in the inner dining space during dinners.

Though the restaurant closes at 22h and tables in the patio should be clear by then, this is not respected, and you have to cope with big groups dining and drinking until late. Resting in the rooms over the patio is quite challenging.

I thought the propert was absolutely fantastic. the staff really made it. so polite and helpful. eduardo went the extra mile in making sure you were comfortable and did anything he could to help you whilst at the hotel Casa Don Luis. the hotel was bay clean and very well presented.

the one thing it needed for me anyways would be a good fitness centre as I am a bit of a gym freak. that is the only down fall about the property.

Our family stayed at this hotel for our first visit to Colombia in 2021 and recommended it to our friends and family travelling with us for our daughter's wedding on August 4th, 2022. The staff is absolutely wonderful! Our daughter and her significant other were travelling with us and they ended up getting very sick. The rest of the family had to check out to attend another function and the staff at the hotel allowed them to extend their stay and continually checked on them and even brought them food! I have NEVER experienced such hospitality at a hotel. This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel when visiting Colombia, and will never stay anywhere else. We also really love the breakfast every morning!

There truly was nothing that I didn't like about this hotel.

Very nice property that is well located in the heart of the walled part of the city. Eduardo was excellent as the guest manager and the rest of the staff was very helpful too. They gave us a room upgrade and were quite accomodating. The hotel has a old world charm and a nice courtyard with a small pool as well as a a pool / jacuzzi on the terrace. loved the room decor.

Everything was good. Just that they dont have a proper elevator so you need to use the stairs.

Our stay at Casa Don Luis was fantastic. The hotels location is perfect to explore the whole city, not just the old town. The hotel was spotless, always staff on hand and the restaurant in the hotel is fantastic (seriously some of the best pasta we've had). The room was incredible, had a massive bed with some amazing linen. Air conditioning was great and very much needed. I would also like to give a special shout out to Eduardo who was such an incredibly friendly and helpful man.
