Great Hostel. Pros: Great atmosphere, travelers from all ages and countries, and really good to meet nice people or chill out, great staff, great facilities, great 24 hour reception. We stayed in a private bedroom and it was excellent. The wifi works really well and this makes it a good place to work and travel. The hostel location is also very good. And great lockers as well.

Cons: maintaining a hostel is not easy but essential things such the showers is something not to forget about it. Although the temperature was great, two of the showers we had to deal with, both were very obstructed, making showering a bit difficult. Other maintenance point is that the hooks to hang general things, many were broken. And they are very useful. About the bar, it was often out of beer, but with good prices and great staff. Keep it always full of beers. =)

Easy location , good breakfast and everything is clean .

Children are allowed to stay in the hostel. I don’t think hostels are appropriated to children .

I had a great time at Hostal Providencia, and I want to highlight three awesome things: Fantastic Staff: The people working there are super friendly and helpful. They made me feel welcome and had great tips about the area. Special thanks to Santi and Mario! Perfect Location: The hostel is in a great spot, close to Cerro San Cristóbal and Cerro Santa Lucia. It was easy to get around, and I could explore the city without any hassle. Nice Place: The rooms are comfy and clean, and there's a cool common area for hanging around with people from all over the world. Every night they have some special thing going on, like Pizza or Crepe nights. Everything is well-kept and tidy.

The Wi-Fi connection was a bit inconsistent, particularly in my room where it didn't work properly (it was in the fifth floor). In the Coworking area the Wi-Fi works fine.

Beautiful, big hostel with large patio. Clean and the rooms and the bathrooms are really nice. I stayed in a private room.

There was an issue with the price not showing taxes though it was mentioned as with taxes on booking. In the end I paid the price +17% and got an upgraded room.

Loved this place! Comfy bed, nice shared bathrooms, decent kitchen (small but ok equipment). They really think of so many little details -- community events every night (pizza, crepes, pub crawls), 24h friendly staff, a bin with clothes donated by other travelers, fridges with free / shared food, a gym with some good space and a couple weights / kettlebells (although it definitely needs a fan for air circulation), even a fridge stocked with sandwiches and cake loaves and fruit /yogurt for purchase if you want something quick and cheap! Location is very close to subways and about a 20+ minute walk from more central areas. Would 100% recommend and happily stay again!

Gym needs air circulation options (fan etc), kitchen is a bit small given the huge size of the hostel.

The hostal is amazing. It was my second time there. I enjoy the looks, the vibe and the people. It has everything a hostel should have and more. Every night they held some kind of event and it is always nice to be part of it. The location is also very good. Close to subway and with restaurants nearby. I will definitely come back.

This time my room was very close to the breakfast area so it was very noisy and the bedroom's window didn't have any kind of shield curtain so it was always too bright inside the room.

Location was good and staff were very helpful! They had events on so it seemed like it would have been easy to meet people had we not been too tired to socialize.

Check in was a bit hectic with them have our reservation info wrong (price and room type - so make sure you know what you booked!), but they got it sorted out with some room shuffling. Our window faced over the bar so it was noisy but nothing ear plugs couldn't solve and to be expected with a social hostel. Our towels had a lot of stains on them so I recommend using your own.

I have to say that the first night I stayed I wanted to leave. The lights were bright, it was noisy (there is an onsite bar), and the bunk room door didn't lock. The next night I found the hallway lights and turned them off. I found out that I needed a key to lock the door and there were big curtains and a window when closed blocked out the street noise. My last nights were great. The community area is awesome with lots of tables and plugs. It is so close to the Metro - maybe 3 blocks so the location was perfect. I actually walked from the hostel to the Plaza de Arms. Good and safe. I would stay here again.

Quite and safe neighborhood. The facilities were good. Free coffee provided. The guests staying in the accommodation were quite and courteous. Staff was very welcoming and helpful. Short walk to Bellavista area. other bars and restaurants within closer proximity. Very close to the subway line so convenient to get around.

It was unfortunate that during our stay the water in the area of Santiago was shut down (I think due to the construction of the subway line). Certainly not the properties fault however there was no notification ahead of time until the day we arrived. The silicone caulking in the shower was moldy. Could certainly use a redo. A light addition in the shower would be a nice addition.

Good location, close to subway stations and walkable to Barrio Italia, Barrio Lastarria and Bellavista. Knowledgeable, friendly, helpful staff. 24hr manned front desk. Even though it’s huge, it has a good atmosphere. They organise events. Some simple/basic food available most days.

You are charged 19% local tax, unless you use American dollars. Foreigners are supposed to be exempt from the tax! The bar isn’t very well stocked, mostly just tinned beers, often just from reception. Rooms for individuals, a bit on the steep side, sometimes.
