This may not be the fanciest hotel in town, but the location is so good we have stayed here often. Good value for money and handy to have both coffee and a fridge in room

Bow View Lodge was a perfect location for us. We could walk to restaurants, museums, and public transportation. All of these were within a 10 minute walk. Our room had views of the Bow River and there was a walking trail along the river. We even decided to attend church because there was a cute Catholic Church right around the corner from us. (I highly recommend walking through the church to see its Canadian Rockies themed stained glass windows.) The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean.

Bow View Lodge is an older hotel and its age shows. There is no air conditioning and our room was frequently warmer than we would have liked. However, there was a fan in our room and by cracking the sliding door and putting the fan in it, we could cool the room down pretty quickly in the evening when we returned from our hikes.

The location is perfect: next to the beautiful Bow River, close to the transit hub and downtown, supermarket, various restaurants, but was quiet. Although the hotel does not have restaurant, the next-door hotel (same owner perhaps) has a very good breakfast. If you choose not to wash towels, you're given $5 voucher per day to dine in that hotel. The hotel also offers free parking. This hotel is not a upscale and fancy one but the price is better than other nearby hotels and has all essentials. The staff cleaned the room very well everyday.

The room was hot and has no air conditioning. There was a small fan in the room. We replaced the thick blanket with thinner one provided in the room.

This property was in the best location, and the room was clean and comfy. Perfect for a week long stay, we had everything we needed within a very short walk! The staff were also amazing!! Also worth it to ask if there is a river view room available, over overall I did not see any bad views.

The room was very outdated, but that isn't too bad, considering all the positives. There was also no AC in the regular rooms, which was fine considering how cold night gets, but could be tough if it was hotter.

The room we had was beside the elevator on the 3rd floor. 315. It was nice and spacious for a two bed room although the one bed was pretty close to the wall. More spacious than some of the other double rooms I have stayed in previously at this hotel. I have stayed here a number of times and it has generally been a good experience. Pretty quiet this time, but the hotel was not full and it was weekdays. You do hear a few trains but that is the case anywhere in town. Staff were all friendly and helpful. I like the location for walking to downtown and along the river. I like having a balcony or outside deck. They are connected with the Banff Park Lodge and you can use the pool there. You can skip housekeeping and get a $5. Off coupon for the restaurant on the Lodge next door. Save water and laundry usage which is good. The breakfast buffet at the Park Lodge is great but quite expensive so you may not feel the $5 off is enough but helps a little.

The hotel is getting a little dated but still quite pleasant and housekeeping do a great job of keeping things quite clean. Frig tended to freeze stuff and is quite small. Staff said they would look into it and there was adjustable dial on it that we were able to adjust. Coffee machine was not great but was ok if you put only one cup of water per package. Tim's and the gas station is only a 5 minute walk though. Would have preferred a river view but opted for the cheaper standard room. Still waiting for my emailed receipt. They require $50. Damage deposit per night.

Excellent location. Being close to the river is super cool for a nice morning walk. Staff was nice and always helpful. It was good for what it was, a base of operations for 6 days. On-site parking (most of the stuff in Banff is street parking).

Decor of the hotel is dated (but it's easy to spend someone else's money). Our room specifically, had a sliding screen door that did not fully close.

Extremely friendly and accommodating staff. The location, only a few blocks from dt and the trail alongside the river. Cost. It's literally the cheapest place in Banff.

The lack of AC is the single most detracting factor to the overall experience, pls invest in some portable AC units. When the room gets above 25c during the day till 2am, it's really hard to sleep and stick to the travelling schedule.

The location is great! we can go walk to restaurant, shops easily and no need to worry park car somewhere. The facility is older, but everything is adequate and working well, and the room was very clean, which is most important part for me. You can see cleaning staff did awesome job, and staff at front were very helpful and friendly. Also, we enjoyed very much of the pool in Banff Park Lodge (which is sister property). Overall, was good stay for me and my kids.

The TV could be bigger, but it didnt bother us.

it’s in downtown area, a few minutes walk to the village busy area and it’s next right to the river and you can rent canoe or kayak or paddle boarding as well

First night I stayed on the main floor, my next room neighbor were chatting and laughing so loud even when pass mid night! The walls are so thin that I was able to hear everything about their conversation. I need my sleep so I asked the front desk to let them know and to keep it down but after the front desk staff called them, not only that they didn’t stop…they laughed even louder than before. Some people just don’t want to consider other people or respect, especially it pass mid night at that point. I then came back to the front desk again and he said he could remove them but I didn’t twang to cause any problems cuz we are there for the same reasons so the staff gave me another room on the 2nd floor and it was quiet and comfortable.

The river view is just wonderful. It's a pleasure to stay in the hotel with such a view. Being next to the board walk by the river prompted an unplanned 2 hour morning walk - a wonderful experience. The young lady at the front desk on the evening shift was just wonderful - great smile, courteous and very helpful. Also, minutes from IGA supermarket is a big plus.

A bit nervous when the only elevator not in service for an afternoon. Fortunately it was fixed overnight. So we don't have to drag our luggage down the stairs. Actually very impressed by the efficiency, All is well.
